You can also create this farm below Y=33 (meaning the highest blocks of the farm should be at level 32) underground to make a glow squids farm. The AFK spot is the same one, 109 blocks above the highest part (so following the previous example, at Y=148). Just be sure there is no underground lakes 4-5 chunks around, or light them up. Also be sure that your farm is in full darkness. Glow squids only spawn on water blocks with a light of 0. _Unlike for regular squids, it can be set in any biome in the overworld, not specifically bellow a river or an ocean._
I know this is old, but I was curious. if you build this directly (y33) under the original. can you run both farms at the same time? Youd have to clear out more of the river as well as light up some more caves but other than that seems easy?

Just built this on a realm server in 1.20.4! Works like a charm. I’d HIGHLY recommend picking somewhere where you have as little water to remove as possible. Other than that, excellent and quick to build.
Shulkercraft, Add some Frost walker II into your armored boots, so you don’t have to take damage every time & decorate blue glass as fake river water. Love the Tutorial!

Best ink sac farm is the Allay Ocean monument one. I made it last night and I now have 4 double chests of ink sacs. Amazing farm
I love the farms you showcase on here, but I prefer the simple one by The Troj, which doesn't require draining a river, just using hoppers and Allays at an ocean monument. It's about half the yield, but doesn't require anywhere near as much building or materials.
A person that finds it difficult to get iron, gold, redstone, and glass will find it more difficult to obtain allays. This many hoppers or powered rails are not necessary if one has comparators/repeaters for unloading the minecart, but that requires nether materials.
I love the fact that I just now just collected ALL the materials from another squid farm and I just emptied 128 blocks around of water and this video appears, also from shulkercraft.

Works fine @Java 1.20.4 It is important to drain not only the river, but also any water pockets within the spawn sphere. It is best to use the recommended MiniHUD. If Creative without cheats: Copy the world, start WITH cheats, fly to the previously noted AFK location (Spectator mode) - switch on the sphere and then look under the riverbed to see if there is any more water inside the “red sphere”. If so: drain it!

Question: If i stay at that AFK spot ,rivers that are underground are not in the range to spawn squids right? because i built mine where there are lots and lots of rivers underground,i drained some of them that do not go that deep but there are some that go all the way to bedrock. Soo yeah

As far as Im aware, this doesnt work in 1.19. Tried it in creative and survival on this one server and nothing is spawning, not sure why Edit: the server IS modded so I realize now that THAT might be the issue...

My base is near a river biome..... But I've never seen a single squid or drowned spawning there in 6 months.... So I'm kind of skeptical if I should build this..... Any advice is much appreciated
Squids ( and dolphins ) belong to the water mob category , ( glows squids are in a separate group ) and have a very low mob cap of 5 creatures. You probably have squids ( or dolphins) in your spawn chunks ( which are always loaded ) preventing the spawning of new ones in other parts of your world. As for the drowned, light up ALL the caves around your base, especially submerged (dripstone) caves

QUESTION!! I built this farm on minecraft 1.20.2 server (Java), near mountains. I dry water in river 100blocks from farm. And result is 25 (less than stack) ink sacs in 60 minutes. Why? Can you help me please?

@@wpaAlvaro it show that half of the farm is in river, but admin fixed it and now it is all in river biome, but nothing change. 32 ink sac per hour, it is very bad...
@@Matus16_11 Be sure you are at Y level 174 for afking and make sure you drain enough of the river so squids don't spawn when afking up there, other than that I'm unsure of what else to do to fix it.

The pro tip is to find a river biome centered in a MESA (badlands biome). No sponges necessary. No one has ever mentioned this in a video which is weird. You WILL have to dig to the correct height (y=63 or whatever it is) and below, though. Like to help people that don’t have sponges 😅

Why should that matter?
Having maximum fps will damage your components over time because they run at higher usage for long periods of time. And minecraft is a game where you don't really need more than 60fps unless pvping

You have probably set the mobGriefing gamerule to false. Without it enabled, villagers can't pick up food items. And they wouldn't even be able to harvest and place carrots back.
