410ci EFI Stack Injected Stroker LS - Engine Power S10, E13-14
New 2023 Episode! Pat and Frankie put together a highly polished/high-performance pump gas stroker street rod engine that has both the show AND go!
Engine Power embarks on the Pro LS Bottom End Build project. What started as an iron LS block from a salvage yard transforms into a power-packed 410 cubic inches beauty, filled with fury. We selected an LQ-9 short block to accommodate the big bore that we needed for this project, along with a line of parts specifically created for the LS platform.@PowerNationTV

Frankie sporting the pocket protector like a boss.
Is like to see yall build a high rpm LS. Like 8 - 9000 rpm.
They just did on the previous video.
@@frankcastle9691KZhead hides stuff now...
I would like to see them challenge project spinal tap. That would be awesome
If that package only made 400hp I'd still run it since that intake looks SO cool!
@@rynev3392or just a tad spicier cam they could easily make power north of 7k with the bottom end balance.
Really sweet! Two minor additions; chase that 10hp to get to 600hp and contrast the super shiny with a little satin and or color.
This channel got me into engine building as a hobby. Crazy times we live in lol
Funny pat reading a How To Build Book
My 5 month old son loves your show I’m building a 1979 gmc caballero Diablo it’s going to have a 406 in it
I want that in my suburban! It would tow my 24' boat like it wasn't even there.
Make sure you have open hood so fresh air gets to it and not hot engine bay air
I'd love to see that in my 59' El Camino Restomod that I don't have! Nice job.
I think this is the most gorgeous engine you guys have ever built. As far as I am concerned I don't really care about the rest of the car. The engine is the heart of it all. Kudos to you as well as your sponsors (especially ARP).
I would love to see a 100+ HP per liter "moon-tune" full send N/A build one day (in this case, 600hp for a 6.0L). I know the LS7 from the C6 Z06 can get there somewhat easily, but seeing it in a 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, or 6.0 would be awesome as well.
Y’all are the best engine builders online. Cant stand most of the car channels but this one is absolutely the best for any mechanic
Because they yap more than show you how-to's.
Ah, a truly balanced and blueprint engine, great video!
Your getting the focus and light right, WITH A STABLE PLATFORM! that helps so much 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Mr Topolinski in his happy place with the machine work. Always excellent attention to details.
Very good parts break down, excellent sponsor plugs, and then the dyno run was the icing on the cake. LS power to the peps.
That engine would be awesome under the hood of a ‘69 Chevy K10.
The ITB setup is designed for high RPM, I think a few degrees back on cam timing, you'd pull 600+hp over 7k. The ITBs and bling make me think of a very racy, high revving type engine. Still an awesome build tho!!!
Love the paint you guys used on this one instead of the wacky weird ones you normally choose
Also it was still climbing and hadn't quite peaked. I'd would guess if you did a 3500-7000 sweep it would have crested at 67-6800 and hit 600!
Excellent video !!! Thanks guys...
Great engine combo 👍🇦🇺
Super cool build
Love these vids, keep up the good work
Great video 👍
Another nice one boys.
Love the intake, but what kind of air cleaner will work on that to keep the bad stuff out? That would look great in my El Camino.
There are small air cleaner mushroom tops that fit on top of the intake tubes.
Nothing. These bling builds are SEMA builds. No need to be concerned about anything else. Intake runners are usually sized for the operating range of the engine, short runners are usually used for high revving (7k+ rpm) engines. If power curve was the intention, this would have been better off with a Fast intake.
That there was a great build
I leaned so much form you guys are awesome 👍
Strokers! Gimmie dat torque!
I would love to see you guys build a ford 4.0 v6
It would look great in my dually
This is great! I’d love to see a 5.7 based hemi stroked to a 410.
+1 vote for an import. Something like a Honda K series, Toyota 2JZ, or Nissan VR38. Love seeing the detailed work, keep it up!
love you guys
That LS looks like it would be at home in a gasser style build
Looks like it could have made a little more, looks like it was rising on the final run. Would have liked to see it ran to 7k rpm.
I thought for sure you would go for 600, but that's OK, I loved the build!
I gotta say, the LS platform really is easy to work on compared to lots of other engines, even ones with less cylinders. Placement of essential functions is my hypothesis for why. Ease of access and simplified everything. Sure makes me want to do a swap.
A whole lot of chrome.
This would look so good in my Silverado
awesomeness
You’re supposed to put “heat tabs” on the freeze plugs. 😂😂
You Gentlemen make such an awesome team! Keep these great builds coming! Do something with a Buick Grand National / T - Type V6 Turbo Engine, GMC Syclone / Typhoon 4.3 Turbo and a 2JZ-GTE MKIV Toyota Supra Twin Turbo build! That would be so killer! Maybe a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 motor build! Different and awesome for sure!
LOL, Every guy who looks at that motor in whatever it ends up in is gonna say - "Hey Cool! Blue lights!"
Talk about an ABSOLUTELY linear power curve. Yeesh. That's a very clean slope.
I wish Powernationtv would do a LS conversion with a flat plane crank
Why?
Well I don't know about the performance advantage but they do have a distinct sound so there's that.
@@joshtheking1772 Most flat plane engines are DOHC, I would like to see if you could get the same higher RPM with a Single cam.
I would love to see an all out 383 SBC making 600hp. But I have a feeling they done one awhile back.
They did. It had a blower on it. I think it went in a”muddy truck” they did the rebuild bc of a blown head gasket
They have built a 383 that made 562hp a while back. Small block build stage 2.
I thought that was the blown small block they broke a piston on.
love the borat reference at the end lol.. need something like this in my 84 k10.. badly
man this would transform my V6 mustang into a muscle car
Keep your ford ALL FORD😎
ah yes im sorry 🤣🤣🤣🤣@@josephf593
You need a 6.8L DOHC 40V Triton V10 for you're Mustang
If you put that GM in a Ford, I'm putting a 455Oldsmobile in a Firebird
Man I wonder how much they charge to build your engine definitely worth it
I'm not into polished or chrome but DAM DOES SHE RUN AND SOUND GREAT!!!!! Torque monster.
My 76 crew cab c30 would be amazing with this engine in it.
I have a stock 2015 Silverado with 6.2 with camper shell and all stock it does 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds. It’s a beast for the weight.
Impressed on the amount of USA made parts in the Summit Racing kit.
Awesome looking and running!! That's the way to build a proper engine!!
I really like the engine block paint choice. Very clean, aluminum-block look.
Sweet
I don't get it. You advanced the camshaft to lower the power band yet installed a short runner ITB intake, which enhances high RPM performance? Please explain.
That intake gives me John Kaase vibes. Stacey David used one on the Boss 9 in the V8 Interceptor.
The only rime chrome will get you home
19:40 why didn't they use ARP main bolts? 24:40 You advance the cam to pick low end but you use ITB which know for top end power.
LOL. you said "nifty" Frankie. You're darn tooting right too. That's a sweet balance that long ago wouldn't have been messed with. The only thing you n Pat need is a Spintron. I'd like to see a comparison of dyno runs between this ITB vs A long tube plenum intake both being mpi basically it's the airflow that will show up.
Love the stack injection! Bitchin! 😎
Man, that engine would look and perform great in my 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD with 127K on the odometer that has "Zero Rust" I might add. 😎
That’s the Top Fuel guy! Ok ok
stainless steel bolts + aluminum bracket = RUST!!!!!!
Id love to see yall build a ford barra for 600hp
Great st engine, doesnt need 7000rppm or boost. This would be hard to hook on the st as is anything more is a waste Would have liked to see longer runners for this stroker. Pat are there whipple blowers for a Gen 1 sbc?
What is the reason for moving the crank forward? Isn't it just going to return to its "happy spot"?
WITH THE RIGHT GEARING....HIGH TENS IN THE QUARTER ARE POSIBLE.......ONE THING YOU GUYS NEED TO LOOK AT WITH THESE STROKERS IS PISTON SPEED....A318 HAS A PISTON SPEED OF 1750 FEET PER SECOND AT 3000 ROM..IF MEMORY SERVES ME....A 360. IS 2250.....AND HYDROPLANES. ON ITS OIL AT HIGHER RPM.. YOUR STROKER IS PLANEING ON ITS OIL AT 3000.RPM....IF IT DRINKS OIL....THATS WHERE IT WENT.... SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT WITH YOUR RING CHOICE.
Wow, some serious coin into that street LS 410. The induction, accessory drive system, and fasteners alone would break me. Probably not representative of your average hot rodders engine. But hey, who knows? Some people love alot of bling. Impressive looking and has an incredibly flat broad power band. Would be perfect for a heavier oldschool musclecar.
just the rotating assembly from Summit cost $2700. not including the heads, induction, front accessories, ignition OR labor costs. I'd say $13k JUST in parts
How have y’all not promoted carbide tipped scrapers! Matco sells A version also. Great tool for the “every man”
Helluva set up with ITB ….. question…… How much to purchase this engine from you guys? Or an estimate of what it would cost? BIG UPs from Dallas, Texas 🤙🏽
I got a question.... Can the same combination or similar, be applied to a ls 383ci. stroker with the same intake and about 10.5-1 compression? And still have similar results!
I don't know who else thinks duralast sensors are "high" quality. Not I tho.
Who else is watching this video just for the ITB EFI intake? 🙋♂️
I'm curious myself on that setup😮
31:15 Valley cover plate and valve covers.
This engine would be a great swap for a Canadian Muscle car like the 66-69 Beaumont
Where do people purchase various ci short blocks built to these types of trustworthy ridged specs, for those that don't want to start from scratch with a build? Many can build, but few build beyond spec.
What kind of map sensor set up are they using for the individual throttle bodies they kind of just glossed over that
It would take me 2 million dollars in parts and equipment and time to do all this lol fun to see though
hey pat shoot the sob with Nitris put twin turbos and a super charger as well hit the switch and hold on oh what liter engine size is the lq9 is that the 6.2 by chance please let me know thanks
I want to kno where to get a arp bolt drawer for my shop
please build a 410 sprint car engine!! methanol and 900+ natural aspirated!!
I love my 5.7 hemi in my truck, still I’d swap it out for this LS any day. 😊
Hellcat the world!
if i buy a rotating assembly from Summit Racing why is it not already balanced?
I would love to have that motor in my 08 2500 hd
Hold on, they wedged a screwdriver against the crank, forcing the crank towards the passenger side of the block. that is going to throw off the bearing crush when they torqued down the mains right after.... i don't know about that idea....
Frankie has almost as many things in his shirt pocket as Pat now!
My Duralast alternators aren't doing so well😢
That will put it to the ground nicely. My ls2 403 stroker with a ysi head laid down over 500 ft lbs of torque at 2600... Absolutely zero traction. Hated it because it ruined the average light to light and made my car a 70 roll only. My mistake
Can an aluminum block LS1 and/or LS2 be stroked to 410ci?
I love the program and watched it from the beginning. I for one though am sick of chevy engines getting shoved into everything that they don"t belong in. If it says Ford on the front then put a Ford in it. If it is a MOPAR don't make a Mochit out of it. Keep it a MOPAR. If it is a Pontiac then put a Pontiac in it. Pontiac never made an LS, but they did make some awesome engines. Get the idea !!!
could you explain a bit what the numbers of a cam shaft mean please
Please put the episode # back in the title of the video please.
Should grab a Sprint car motor and toss the intake system onto it and see what happens.
Please build a Ford 2.7L Ecoboost.
I guess you could call me a sunnen cause it also takes me 5 strokes to finish 😉
We need to work on your stamina.
Serious question: Does Summit actually "make" anything?
Pat … you’re missing couple of pens from your pocket.
