They say you can never escape a mother’s love... but for Chloe, that’s not a comfort - it’s a threat. There’s something unnatural, even sinister about the relationship between Chloe (newcomer Kiera Allen) and her mom, Diane (Sarah Paulson). Diane has raised her daughter in total isolation, controlling every move she’s made since birth, and there are secrets that Chloe's only beginning to grasp. From the visionary writers, producers and director of the breakout film Searching, comes a suspense thriller that shows that when mom gets a little too close, you need to RUN.

  • There's something truly unique in the acting of Sarah Paulson..she is able to embody and convey mental pathology with a haunting degree of realism

    • She plays a manipulative character. Manipulative people are basically real life actors, and since Sarah is an actress, she easily played the role of manipulative. Actors use their manipulating skills in order to act, they involve their emotions and thoughts when acting, and this is basically a form of manipulation

  • I know I'm late to comment but, this movie literally gave me an anxiety attack that lasted multiple days, because the main character is so relatable and the way the actress portrayed the emotions and the set was adapted to her. Also during the movie when she realises that her mother is hiding a secret from her and she slowly finds out the truth. This movie is the best portrayal of a disabled teenager to date as its so rare to see disabled people in movies nowadays. 9/10 Excellent well made movie, perfect of you like psycological thrillers, and anxiety

      @fishsauce2221@fishsauce22214 жыл бұрын
    • fish sauce Well I can try to explain why I like her. I’ve personally seen a lot of her projects at this point and she literally can play anything. She is the definition of an acting chameleon. She completely transforms into whatever role she’s portraying and they’re all completely different from the previous role. Her personality is also very endearing. She often plays very serious characters, yet when you see her in interviews she’s vibrant, bubbly, charismatic...she just seems to be a joy to be around. She’s also a free spirit who lives her life in the way that she wants without conforming to societal norms. She’s just exactly who she is, which is incredibly refreshing in an industry which can tend to be quite disingenuous.

    • fish sauce Definitely check out her portrayal of Marcia Clark in the FX limited series (available on Netflix): People vs OJ: American Crime Story. She won a much deserved Emmy for that portrayal. She was also amazing in 12 Years A Slave. If you’re looking for something lighter, her role in Ocean’s 8 was fun and witty. Also, please do yourself a favor and check out the masterpiece that is Sarah Paulson and Mark Duplass in Blue Jay (available on Netflix). The improvisational ease of the film is why it will always be one of my favorite pieces to watch over and over again. And, of course, definitely check out her myriads of roles in American Horror Story to further appreciate the depth of her range.

  • Fantastic thriller that keeps you shouting at the screen and doesn't let up to the end. Kiera Allen (daughter) & Sarah Paulson (Mom) were WOW! And per her IMDB bio, she's an actual wheelchair user - hope she gets more roles. This was her 1st and she proudly reps disabled community in a thriller film with real disabled star in 70 years.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
