When Uncle Buck is proven right but says to Tia that he doesn’t want to talk about it (and rub it in her face), it shows that Buck knows Tia knows she made the mistake of trusting Bug. She had already learned her lesson so there was no point in Buck adding salt to the wound. This further shows that Buck would have made a great parent if he had children. Not only was he great with kids but he had a good understanding that kids need to learn their own lessons in life. A parent scolding them does not help.

Sometimes people we love do stupid things. Especially young people our children,Nephews. Nieces all do idiotic things. And on occasions its our job to step in and discipline them. But when they learned the harsh lessons by themselves. Are job is not to yell at them. But to pick them up dust them of and give them a sense of control. What i love about the scene the most is when he ask Tia to help smooth things over in his relationship. Even though he could of sorted it on his own. He did it to make her feel more of a mature person. Something she was craving in the movie and main reason she was rebellin. It showed Buck was people smart and knew exactly what his niece needed.

@@unionpacifictrainUncle Buck.
After all these years I just noticed that right before she says thanks that hes not gonna say anything, She has a quick little smile.
Tia: Did you do anything to bug? Buck: :-)
Buck is a known tuff guy but he loves and cares so much that he is willing to break that image of him self for her.
I love Tia and Uncle Buck moment here. Just for reassurance that he wouldn’t say anything to her parents, and the fact that she understood her! But I just love the next scene with Bug in the trunk of his car! 😂😂😂
Happy 50th birthday 🍾🎊🥳🎉 Jean Louisa Kelly
I have no brothers or sisters, and no children of my own. But what I do have, is few very close friends who consider me “Family” in every sense of the word… I’ve been called “Uncle Buck” more than a few times…
I miss John Candy.... His movies are so great! Uncle Buck really is an awesome movie.
Buck may be unconventionl but he has heart of gold
Glad Tia did the right thing leaving Bug where he wanted to sleep with her and the party with alcohol!
I agreed. Her uncle Buck was right.
Don’t ever get with a guy that thinks about sex
@@majorpayne100 exactly.
Right. He knew Bug was an asshole from the beginning, but he let Tia figure it out for herself.
@@majorpayne100 Lol, what?
John Candy always a class act
I always liked the background music for this scene as she's walking and he's coming up. Great overall scene. Love this movie.
She is so gorgeous and cute. I love her
Beautiful girl.
She was in her early twenties at the time even though she played a 14, 15 year old!!!!
However not with that attitude I didn't but learn to love her, however took a long time until the end of the movie was almost over in this part of it.
Every tenn in America needs to each this
Every other time when he puts the car in park, it eventually backfires and shuts down... except this time, as though it knows.
It backfires every time he shuts it off, and in this scene he left it running.
@@martiantexan7632 He left it running at the high school too
I adored tia💕
When Uncle Buck is proven right but says to Tia that he doesn’t want to talk about it (and rub it in her face), it shows that Buck knows Tia knows she made the mistake of trusting Bug. She had already learned her lesson so there was no point in Buck adding salt to the wound. This further shows that Buck would have made a great parent if he had children. Not only was he great with kids but he had a good understanding that kids need to learn their own lessons in life. A parent scolding them does not help.
i guess thats the power of uncles and aunts... not as close as a parent and thus more clingy... instead they give them space and are still there for them when they mess up. no rub ins, just safety.
John Candy was underrated. He made uncle Buck his.
Everyone wishes they had an "Uncle Buck" in the family ..!!
Why did this comedic beast have to leave us so soon? If only he lived on a healthy diet, I could see more of his work.
3:57 “Oh my god. What did you do?”
When I want to have a cry to the world I watch this seen
Me as well
A brillant scene
Live enough. Learn enough.
That look on buck’s face when Tia turns around…. KNOWING he has bug in the trunk…. …. The moral dilemma going through in his head….
world of comedy is changed since his death
John Candy was taken from us much to soon.
One of the best comedies
Now that’s a real man.
I hasn't seen her in anything in years until watching Top Gun: Maverick today. She played Ice Man's wife.
She was in the TV show "Yes Dear" with Mike O'Malley from Nickelodeon Guts & Glee, she also had a bit role in Mr. Holland's Opus as Rowena Morgan.
i love that girl
This is where u wished you had an uncle like John Candy or Buck
John Candy had range far beyond SNL.
I miss John Candy 🥲
What a great actor. So much like my brother (Clark & Aldine, Chicago). Miss them both; they were from the same generation. I had a 1976 Mercury, BTW.
I loved John's movies he' was Amazing one of my favorites funny Touching incredible miss him
John Candy was a class act.
The fact that Bug is riding along the entire time in the trunk though
Candy was a GOAT. RIP
The only thing missing in this scene is for Uncle Buck to be jamming Ray Charles' Mess Around...
Straight savage
I did the same thing with my nephew..... a Great Kid, a bit on the emotional side, but that "okay". "Are you going to tell my Mom?", he asked. "no, I'm Not That Big of a Dick, but I don't want you to walk alone..... You ALWAYS have somebody walking with you, whether it The LORD, of even your 'nino' that Will ALWAYS Care about you." He got emotional, I did too. BUT, I got him home and he turned around in not being such a Rebel with His Mom. I just hope, and I think, he has a better relationship with his Mom.
probably John Hughes' most under appreciated film
Uncles, they're like dad's, but cooler and more badass
Buck won't share what happened to Tia to her parents and kept it between the both of them.
Everyone deserves an uncle Buck
Except Tia until she changed her cold blooded stubborn selfish attitude & ways. So yeah he was her hero that she didn't deserve but really needed.
One of Candy's best.
I am that Uncle about my Niece and Nephew
Great movie and cast ❤
I was 12 when this came out - I remember thinking Tia was really old, but isn't she really just 15?
Best scene of the movie 😢 RIP John Candy ❤
Thanks John.
I love this
It’s a movie, that’s was the script!!!
There is a million Uncle Bucks in the world. Just take time to appreciate them. T
What a powerful scene xx
VHS? damn looks good, ah the good ol days
I still remember when I first watched this movie with my grandparents when it first got released on VHS. Simpler times.
Such a good scene.
“I don’t have a college degree, I don’t even have a job” - doesn’t matter when it comes to being a top guy and understanding people
I remember uncle Buck nailed it the first time he saw her boyfriend "bug". How? He was just like him.
She's now 50 years old 🤯
she is in the top gun maverick
Love
I loved John Candy.
what is the music in this scene?..... my fav actor JC 😥
His best movie ever
This scene made me cry
And 10-15 years for kidnapping was worth teaching that kid a lesson. Buck definitely thought the whole thing out!
1:01 oh my god she's so beatuiful
Wish I'd had an uncle as good as him.
She is so calm
Pretty cool the car runs fine here. Good ole reliable.
Hell of a thing for a teenager to admit that
"Did you do anything to Bug?"
