well, tbf the audience is probably still checking around to see if it's ok to laugh. we're a little too liberal to be seen laughing at something that has a whiff of cancel worthy, like the audience at the Will Smith Slap laughing at the Jada Pinkett joke. You can tell if someone is liberal, we're the ones clutching our pearls

Joking about race feels off for a lot of people when we’re dealing with like, actual white nationalism in America. But yeah it was a good bit. Brennan is always good.

Bits like this are awkward because they’re presented as a natural conversation, but it’s all pre-scripted and rehearsed. Even Seth’s questions and laughs.
Yes. You nailed it. I've noticed sometimes comedians do a bit from one of their shows as the interview, but this time it was super awkward. If he was just standing up talking into a mic, this would be exponentially funnier. And I love Neal, but this just wasn't the right medium for him.

Why do figure skaters wear so much makeup during a performance? Because the white ice and lights make the skaters' faces washed out. Part of the scores are based on expression and interpretation of the theme of the music. Adding makeup makes the face more visible and enhances the expression.
