Savage Garden were, arguably, Australia’s most successful musical duo with two #1 US singles, a record breaking 10 ARIA Awards in one year, and worldwide album sales in excess of 24 million.
In just a few short years Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones created perfect pop songs such as I Want You, To the Moon and Back, Truly Madly Deeply, The Animal Song and I Knew I Loved You that not only resonated around the world but put them alongside the likes of Air Supply, INXS, Little River Band and Men At Work. The band's two studio albums, Savage Garden and Affirmation reached No. 1 in Australia and peaked in the top ten in both the United Kingdom and United States. They performed to hundreds of thousands of fans around the world and by the early 2000s were a global pop phenomenon. Savage Garden disbanded in late 2001, when Darren Hayes embarked on a solo career, releasing the albums Spin and The Tension and the Spark.
