    • I met my husband on June 3rd 1989. He was going thru a divorce and did not have his paperwork saying it was final so he did not ask me out. His papers came on the 8th of June and he called and ask me out for June 10th. He ask me to marry him on August 15th and we were married on Oct 20th, 1989. We dated 4.5 months before we were married. We will be married 35 years in Oct. We had one daughter who was born on June 10th, 1991. She was born exactly 2 years from the date of our 1st date.

  • Lydia, you are such a precious mom😊 Don't feel pressured to go back to work. I was an attorney, had my first baby, and decided to stay home after he came. Then I had another baby and decided to homeschool them both! I never went back to work. That was over 23 years ago. Being a stay at home/ homeschooling mom is the best job ever. The world won't tell you that, but it is true. As you know, homeschooling is one of the best things you can do for your family. You can keep God first place in your family, and you have awesome close relationships with your children! Keep your photography going for family and friends, but don't feel pressured to be a career woman. Those babies grow so quickly!! Cherish the years, and pour into their lives. Soak up every minute. God bless you and all of your family.

  • Lydia, I took care of an elderly couple in 2020 who also had dementia. They were 92 & 93. The wife passed away about 2 months after I moved in with them. I then stayed with the husband (who had dementia the worst) for about 4 months after her death. I continued my friendship with the husband until he passed away this passed March. I saw him almost everyday during that time.

  • Lydia seems like such a lovely lady. It sometimes takes a little time to figure out what works out best for you and your family. If you can swing it financially staying home with your child can be so special. Then perhaps doing what you personally love doing from time to time could be beneficial all around. But you seem like a very smart lady and I am sure you will figure it out. You were such a beautiful model. The photos of you and your brother were amazing.

    • You're sweet, Lydia❤ Enjoyed getting to know you❤ My husband and I met when he was 8, and I was 13 ☺️ but then our dad's being pastors we ended up in different states and so we didn't see all the time (just off and on at church camps etc), but i was friends w/ his sisters for yrs😊 When he was 22 and I was 27 he moved to the area and started attending the church I went to😉 ... we became friends and hung out from August til Dec weekly when he FINALLY realized he was liking me as more than just a good friend, haha, so he asked me to be his girlfriend on Jan 1st... ❤ ... we "date" til Feb 20th, became engaged and married that April! 😅😊❤ It's fun because we have a few photos of us at 8 and 13yrs old ☺️❤ our kids love looking at them. Fun fact: I actually am a photographer too and took my husband and his ex fiance's engagement photos😂

  • Being a caregiver is VERY hard. Kudos Lydia!! That would seem so long for me on engagement. My husband and I started dating Sept. then engaged over Thanksgiving, and married in April! Just celebrated 19 yrs! I wish we all walked and bike more often because that was “normal”. Good to get to know you Lydia. 😊 I loved the interview with her dad. • Love the Q&A I knew Lydia looked like she modelled I’m surprised she doesn’t talk more about it but guess it wasn’t a big deal for her. She’s beautiful all around. I was listening to a pastor earlier that said a lot of our phobias and things that spook us are brought on by things that we’ve watched or seen or heard and I have the same spooks as well as Lydia, but Do you read a lot of psalms and scriptures before bed, and especially when you find yourself getting a little frightened, how do you overcome that? As a young couple with a son keeping you busy; do you go on couple retreats? How do you keep the spark in your relationship/marriage?

But when she got married and moved from the East coast of Canada to the west coast of Canada she lost the ability to speak German but when she went back to see her family she could understand what they were saying just not able to speak it. My mom would say things but I never knew if it was German or not. Lydia, can you still speak German? If so, how are you going to remain bilingual? Trace, are you interested in learning German? I have gone to Germany as my niece met a fellow from Germany and the family went there to watch them say their vows. They were also married in Canada.

    • @@martheseturner995 I would agree if you continue to speak it. Grandma never spoke it again and she was second generation Canadian so I’m not sure how much her parents spoke German. All I know is what my mom told me about her and her siblings. Her siblings stayed in the area where they grew up. There wasn’t many German speaking people where we live. That is changing though.

  • Questions: 1. Trace, didn't I see on a show that you and Lawson did some trick riding? I don't see either of you ride. Do you still ride? 2. Trace, do you try to learn German? 3. Both, will you teach your kids German so they are bilingual? 4. Do you have German Christmas traditions you will do with your kids? My mother-in-law came from Holland, so she does the SinterKlaas every year with her now great grandkids. They spend the night and put out their dutch shoes and do other things.

  • Being someone that also moved from Mexico to USA when I was younger, I can relate to you learning English as your second language. I was 16 when I learned English. Great job.
