seems Mexico president is on Coca Cola payroll
We did have a president that was a former Coca Cola VP. Vicente Fox. The guy sold the entire country.
In fact, in the 2000s, the president of the republic, Vicente Fox, who was CEO of Coca Cola, privatized water.

The payroll has had many of Mexico’s presidents.
The response from the Mexican president is appalling. There is a grave water shortage in Mexico and there has to be a solution before there's no water to feed all of Mexico City.
Meanwhile, politicians buy up water trucks, and increase the prices ....
That's his MO. He is horrible. He also ran around at the beginning of the pandemic with COVID spreading, refusing to wear a mask and getting up close and personal with everyone, kissing babies, etc. Mexico ended up having one of the highest mortality rates in the world. Failure after failure.

Illegal Avocado orchards are sucking up a lot of water in that area of Patzcuaro Michoacán too.
A lot of it is due to Coca Cola making the water supply near their factory undrinkable just so they can sell drinks to locals now they can’t drink water as an alternative

I've read and heard that coke has really contributed to water being scarce.
They take all of the water to make coke. Why should they get the water first?
@GrandmaBev64 Because they are allowed to by corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. It takes two to tango, yes Coca Cola is greedy and will do anything to squeeze an extra penny of profits, but politicians don't have to let Coca Cola run rough shot but they do.

Coca cola should just sell water. And give a ration of free water.
Coca-Cola does sell water in the United States they charge $2.50 for a 12-oz bottle of Coca-Cola made in Mexico with cane sugar Nestles corporation owns almost all of the water in another South American country.
I was in Mexico recently, they do have bottled water but it's expensive. Most of these people can't afford it for cooking or cleaning. It's very sad.
They should give water free! They get it for free from Mexico's resources. They caused this. They need to make up for making people sick with their products.

How sad 😂 running out of water while avacado farms and Coca-Cola are seizing water
Ironically, Mexico has the largest fresh water deposits on earth. It's located in the Yucatan Peninsula, called cenotes.
And those Cenotes, were already violated, invaded, and polluted, because of the pilots in the construction of Tren Maya, another crazyness from this Narcopresident we have.Tren Maya was build by the army so all the documents about it were called as a national security topic by the goverment , and not be available to anyone, and hard to sent them to trial. and as a big coincidence.... one of the first location were the tren Maya begins... is few streets close to a big house, where the president will live after leaving the possition.
yeah i mean, AMLO's not lying, México has all the water. But now it's all WASTE water man
So Coca Cola takes the water and gives this kids liquid sugar instead. That's criminal.
This sad situation is not limited to Mexico. There are areas of Texas that could also become arid zones. Large housing developments continue to draw water from limited water sources. On top of that Texas is a state that has failed to regulate the very water-wasting Bitcoin industry. Bitcoin uses specialized computers around the clock to validate transactions. All that computing power burns through a lot of energy. And like other data centers, crypto mines also use a good deal of water in their cooling systems to keep machines from overheating.
Add Arizona to that list too! Saudi Arabia was sucking up water for so many years to grow alfalfa for their livestock because it was free with land purchase. Thank goodness they put the kaibosh on it! But we are facing water scarcity in Southern AZ. While you are at it add all four corner states to that list.
This is why I laugh at people who complain about the price of gas. I hate to think what the cost of a bottle of water fit to drink will cost in 10 - 20 years from now.

The worst drought since 1941. Was it climate change that caused it back then?
Probably just the increase of industry. More people means less water to use and produce goods. Also driving causes it. That was like ww1 and they probably used alot of resources.

Climate change or a lack thereof or the cause of climate change, as has been explained ad nauseam, cannot be derived from singular events taken in isolation. Incidence rates are incredibly important to understand how much solar irradiance the Earth is retaining, how it is changing certain cycles, and how that disruption affects further weather patterns.

It's not like Idiocracy, at all. Your lack of understanding is totally disrespectful. You have no clue how poor these people are, especially in Chiapas- the poorest state in all of Mexico, with 98% of people living in poverty and 50% living in extreme poverty- and how few resources they have. The government in Mexico is owned by two things: the drug cartels and corporations. The people do not have any say over Coca Cola's behavior, and they drink the cheapest thing that they can get.

Praying for rain while drinking a Coke. Humans are lost
Mexico City has a long history of water shortages. However, with AMLO an ambitious Socialist president, many infrastructure projects were began, but never finished. AMLO chose to "seed clouds" in 2020, 2021 and 2022. He's been inaugurating dams in Northern and Central Mexico, but no plan on how to fill them. There is a project for a huge desalination plant in the Sea of Cortez with the US to supply water, but nothing else in the Pacific coast.
