He’s always admitted his mistakes. He’s not scared of doing so. He never hides. But certain Arsenal fans never given him the credits he deserves, for his leadership on the pitch and off it.

Considering what happened with him and fans, I am happy he's still giving his all for us. He has demonstrated true sportsmanship.
That’s his job to give his all that’s the bare minimum he gets paid an awful lot to do it. The bottom line is he isn’t good enough for where we want to be. We haven’t qualified for the champions league ONCE with Xhaka in our midfield.

@@JPFarley99 Xhakas mentality is outstanding, you don't see that often, Pepe for example could use some. Surley he is no replacement for Vieira, nobody is, but boi is he important. We'd be relegated by now without him. Xhaka is good enough to even compete in the Champions League, only thing is he sometimes 'slips' and him bring our backbone that can be very dangerous. When a Player like Xhaka makes mistakes it immediately shows, when auba makes a mistake its not as big of a problem. We don't deserve a player like Xhaka T.T

Im really happy with xhaka. He is consistent, he is experienced, and i trust him in the midfield. Although he sometimes makes mistakes like he made a small one today he keeps his head up and is a true leader. I hope he carries this on so we can have a strong midfield with xhaka and partey
This guy is a machine. He could play for 180 mins and won’t get tired or injuries . He is the heart of the team, the most important player in this team for me. Never hides, never injured, pure leadership and always available. All Arsenal players voted for him to Be captain for a reason . Your team mates are always the best judge . He has captained every team he has played for a both club and at international level. I want to sincerely apologise to you and your family, all those Nazi insults, Muslim insults, wishing his baby died of cancer and calling his wife names are not acceptable and us Arsenal fans should be very ashamed of ourselves . By far our most improved player this season, his mentality has been unreal and we are finally seeing the Xhaka we thought we were getting years ago. I'm proud of him and I would happily see him take the armband again for us.
Yes I'm very happy with Granit's improvement as well. But tbh that armband belongs to Tierney in the future. The passion and fight that comes with his play remind me of what our defense used to look like back in the 90's.

Fair play to Xhaka really turned it around and being really consistent recently
Like him or loathe him, he actually acts like a captain. Auba just isnt captain material.
It’s a lil unfair on Auba. Some men are just natural leaders than others . Auba is more relaxed and cool type of guy . Auba has his way of leadership but I do get your point . Xhaka is just a natural leader .
Auba leads by example. Apart from this season he has been our best player by a country mile ever since he arrived. He had the opportunity to score two hat tricks but gave his penalty to Lacazette and Pepe to boost their confidence when they were not in form. Xhaka as well has had his issues with discipline, consistency and that infamous encounter last season with the fans. While he might have the mentality he has to show that he can step his game up to a new level consistently if he wants to be the captain.
Granit is extremely important for the shape of our team. Let's hope our fans start appreciating him more now.

I’ve criticized Xhaka a lot in the past but hats off to him for taking responsibility for the goal conceded and his comments after the game. Captain material. Also, opponents know he isn’t the type of player to move with the ball or pick a forward pass under close marking, but he’s learnt to put his body between the ball and his marker and draw a foul. Not the most ideal, but it covers up for his biggest vulnerability and allows us enjoy what he does best - positioning, tackling, ball distribution. I just wish he would work to get into shooting positions from outside the box more often, like Lampard used to do for Chelsea. He is perhaps our best prospect for scoring belters from distance.
Well said mate. Xhaka has got to hold the record for arsenal with 30+ yard goals. He definitely needs to shoot more from distance but I think arteta does not like that. He likes to play the ball from the sides.

Xhaka is an essential part of Arteta's system, because he's the only left-footed DM in the first team, the most productive forward pass creator and his positioning/ aerial ability is great too. He always stays behind to cover Tierney/ Partey and does the dirty job for us
