    • Thank you. Respect through hockey community/family Not sure fans deserve this. They trashed them last season calling this a "cup reunion" I heard Pasta's translated interview out of Czechia last summer. Not sure if the lower 48 heard it, but some reporters did. He explained he didn't come to the USA to live in America But for one reason only - to earn that Stanley Cup, playing against the best in the world. And he has stated that elsewhere in English I knew he meant business-wouldn't be squandering his career to play with friends, and if he could, David krejci would be back Patrice bergeron is trying to make 20 seasons, retire at the Bruins 💯 th anniversary in 2024 - he's not going anywhere if he's healthy. But these guys would not make fools of themselves with some fun cup reunion in the golden years of their careers -no way Some of us Original 6 fans, kindly wanted Coach Butch Cassidy gone 2019. Blues Stanley Cup finals. He refused to listen to the players' hockey vision. I've seen cup-winning teams, they are not micromanage like that! I don't doubt these athletes-that's what Butch has been doing to them An AHL coach demanding that season awarded cup winners, selkie winners "do their job and follow his system?" NHL hasn't changed much since 2019, covid held up a lot, so it was logical they had a good shot this year I had no idea it was going to be this crazy! But since it is, I'm saying hey why not go for back-to-back cups during the 💯 th anniversary!? I'm hoping you have to put up with this nonsense out of us for another season! I'm not looking forward to the fair weather Bruins fans returning, as there's really only one way to go from these stats! Sideways or... Gravity kicks in Let's do this right! Enjoy playoffs!

  • Congrats B's & Pasta! Bert! 3 points Kudos to Charlie Coyle! Setting the tone right outta the gate. Back to 40+ point player 2 seasons in a row - just getting warmed up for playoffs, when he shines. He had 6 points vs. Canes last year. Half assists were PP, another point was a PP goal. Charlie's getting overshadowed by all this crazy historic season, keep an eye on him as a clutch player during playoffs Teams always plan to defend 37, 63, 88 & top-line guys-they always underestimate Coyle in the playoffs. He takes advantage. Nobody expect him to pop out and score goals in 14 seconds 😁 He's going for another season of perfect attendance- Only player to suit up all 82 games last season-he's got 2 more games to go. Some of these guys are getting drowned out by the rest of all the awesomeness! They're the ones getting that puck up to Pasta, to set his records. Keep the team going when he gets cold once in awhile Looks like Bertuzzi might've found a different partner, instead of Ernie & Bert- Pasta & Bert. Hope he's happy & we keep him. Go B's!

  • David Pastrňák has usually about 16-17 minutes, McDavid with Draisaitl have about 21-22. In other words, Pastrňák would have to play 20+ more games to get the same time on ice total, which means he could have 10 more goals at least (conservative), but more likely 13-15 (around his avg). So, while being 60 goal scorer as of now, Pastrňák could be on 70+ with 21 minutes/game.

    • @@wad316 Boston is probably the best defensive team in the modern era.(1979 to present) How many more years can Boston play at this level? I guess this is it, You look at what Florida did last year having the best season in twenty-five years only to massively regress to barely a playoff team! The future belongs to Edmonton, Colorado, New Jersey, Toronto, Minnesota, and possibly Detroit. If the Oilers move heaven and earth to get EK65 from San Jose B I think that might be enough to beat the Avalanche annually! Just imagine having 5 one point men on your roster with Evander Kane riding shotgun and getting 80 points as well. The only thing the Oilers would be missing is a Jack Campbell replacement and team toughness. Maybe try to get players like Jonah Gadjovich (in the Karlsson deal) and a Tyler Bertuzzi-type player as well. The Oiler's core is young and in its prime with the Stanley Cup window open for many years! The Oilers will have to give up Bouchard in the EK65 deal but hey how many 100-point defencemen are there in the league? Just EK65. Would you do a massive trade and mortgage the franchise's future? At this point, the answer is quite obvious YES to the power of a million. I am quite sure the NHL salary cap will go up by 5 Million and not 1 million! The league's future is very bright! I hope Connor Bedard gets drafted by the Red Wings who have an amazing young core! Sorry for the novel lol.

In other seasons this trophy is usually given to players with around 45 goals. Scoring 60 for de facto nothing... I hope they'll win the most important trophy at least...

  • The number of regulation wins they have is 52, which means they got an extra 11 wins in OT while the 77 Habs had 0 (and I’m not a Habs fan.) So an impressive season, but let’s put it in context.

    @September2004@September2004 Жыл бұрын
    • I think the far more important context is the league's status as a whole. I don't think your example of the difference in OT wins is nowhere near as relevant as, for instance, cap era vs non-cap era. The impact of money and cultural support is huge, and Montreal had a f*ckload of everything at that time. Not trying to take anything away from either...I have no stake in this comparison. Just sayin. Objectively, I do think that it's harder to produce this kind of record today.

      @ThisHandleFeatureIsStupid@ThisHandleFeatureIsStupid Жыл бұрын
    • @@ThisHandleFeatureIsStupid Actually, that’s a good point since the Habs benefited from the WHA sucking away talent from other teams more than their own. Having said that, I wonder if there is as much parity as the NHL claims. It’s a debate worth having. The Hockey Guy did a video on this. But here’s the thing. Let’s say they didn’t have OT. The Bruins would have 52 wins and 120 points right now. How many people would say they’re the best team of all time with that record? Or even have them in the conversation?

      @September2004@September2004 Жыл бұрын
    • People tend to say that but it shouldnt matter. For this point to be relevant you need to ask the question from the other side. If boston had this exact same season in 77 (82 games, OT and shoutouts) with 63 + wins, and then let's say the rules changed overtime and now in 2023 the habs had their exact same season with 60 wins (80 games, no OT no shoutouts) would you give them the record then? No you wouldn't. It's unfair to give them the "greatest team in nhl history" title, but so is not crediting the record for what it actually is, most wins and probably most points too.

      @gdultim848@gdultim848 Жыл бұрын
    • @@gdultim848 No, I *would* give the Habs the record (or put an asterisk on it) because the year doesn’t matter. I would be impressed the 2023 Habs because I would be saying, “Wow, they got to 60 wins in 80 games *without* OT. Imagine if they had 82 games and OT loser points.” This is something we do all the time. For example, we often ask how many goals Pavel Bure would have if there was no red line and no trap. It’s not hard to imagine we would do that for the 2023 Habs.

      @September2004@September2004 Жыл бұрын
    • @@September2004 you can't give a record to someone if they don't have the record. They might be the better team, but they don't have the record.

  • Technically its the best record in history but there was no overtime prior to 83 and no shootouts prior to 2006. The 95/96 Redwings had 7 ties. Theoretically Detroit could've won those 7 games in a shootout and finished with 69 wins. How many wins did Boston get in a shootout? Nevertheless, still very impressive

    • It is an all time record. It is what it is. Unfortunately we’ll never know. If Boston came into this season with rules prior to ‘83, would they have played differently and strategized differently if they had to play according to those rules- and would the team be different without the worry of having a salary cap that has players leave when they don’t want to? Times change and this is the new norm. Personally I’m in awe of that Habs ‘77 team with like 9 freakin hall of famers on it, but I’d like to see how Boston will do in the playoffs and if they can take it all the way
