Before, people would rush to Hong Kong for shopping and eateries. Now, Hong Kong people rush to Shenzhen. It's going the opposite way.
It was partly intentional (marginalize) hong kong and partly the locals to blame for (garbage food quality and real estate? SERIOUSLY?)
Hang on; if things economically persists in Hong Kong vs. Shenzhen, can yellow forces find some strategic opportunities to not only set up shop for not only the parallel economy--but even a forward operating base for creative resistance/liberation, for both Hong Kong AND even the Cantonese people as a whole? If anything, closed up shops are just another word for gaining more territory to set up command & control, urban centers for an armed insurgency/uprising--BECAUSE... hitting rock bottom's not that far off in the future, i.e., the time moment when all things bad, will have to go into positive reverse upwards... Remember what Peter Zeihan said about 2030--even for Hong Kong's longer-term future at mainland/Beijing's expense...
Impossible and unfortunately the locals are partly to blame (subtle ethnofascism/racism. lack of cantonese romanization. garbage food. struck up chinese arrogance.etc). Honestly better to get them all out. have them all learn english and then put them to work in the trades or as China show clones.
I'm sure the business owners in Hang Kong have business Shenzhen and make money on both side of the trade.
