Coach jav saying "Islam can do whatever we need him to do" is kind of a terrifying statement
I love that whole team, they're killers (the corner footage from khabib v conor fight cemeted that for me) but also incredibly respectful. There aren't many athletes out there that are actively trying to be good role models for their youth and there aren't many athletes out there that work as hard as they have done.

Charles did great and he is super aggressive, which means that he doesn't care about being defensive unlike Khabib who rolls with the punches and setups his takedowns with the jab and his leg attacks... It's all about hitting and not getting hit, which is the most important thing even though the results may be great at the end in regardless of damage taken...

Oliveira in every match that he won, he got knocked down, stunned, and almost lost the fight any second. Where is that with Khabib? 0 his entire career..
Oliveira got absolutely pieced up in the striking exchanges against Porier while Khabib already made Porier question his capabilities after the first fricking round.
RC thought Charles was more dominant in those matches than Khabib was? Entertaining, perhaps. Most would say more entertaining. But how can you call almost getting finished in all those fights more dominant than a guy who almost never got hurt or even bled? RC must have a different definition of dominant. Khabib May or may not be the GOAT, depending on what you’re looking for, but he’s certainly the most dominant fighter in UFC history.
The thing is RC is a casual. Last yr when he first started podcasting with DC, & Islam had just beaten thiago moises, he was saying the most casual mma stuff about Islam. Remember RC was a football player so he doesn’t know much about mma

Khabib and Charles have different responses to being hit hardly in the head. Khabib also got hit hardly but his style was to push forward eat maybe some shots in order to get the takedown. In my opinion Charles wasn’t necessarily dropped as in rattled so he felt down. Charles response to being hit is falling on his back to lurk his opponent in his guard. Was he hurt by the shots in the head by Poirier or Gaethje? Probably yes but not as much as they knocked home down. He could have continued on his feet. It was super clear in the Poirier fight.

He took him down using striking, middle of the Octagon, submitted him during Oliveira's "back" signature position that everyone said he'd lose to. He did everything his haters said he can't do, and would lose to. "He didn't beat anyone from Top5" maybe because you guys were dodging him and asking for money fights at 170! he's champion now, so go on call him! Perfect performance by Khabib's team! Islam showed also great striking & power, whilst having unmatched wrestling & submission.

When I was in my teen age years I was in competitive Tae Kwon Do tournament. I can give a few minutes look of my opponent fight and I can determine whether I can beat him or not. Not surprising world class athletes like Islam and Khabib can determine whether they can win or not by studying Charles.

You HAVE to rewatch a fight. I was pissed but now after watching it two more times I can see. I still give Yan the edge but could see that the takedowns in the third round don’t outweigh that massive knee that rocked Yan and blasted his face open.

I hope Yan doesn't leave the UFC - I'll be so disappointed considering this can kill the bantam weight decision.. again. Yan is such a good fighter, and people still don't recognize it. Hardened, technical, insane amount of heart, a killer, he's got the whole package. Yans management needs to understand that we need to see more of Yan so he can be consistent in the scene so we dont forget about his name, regardless, we don't, because we recognize how good he really is. There's something weird going on and I feel if we lose Yan there's really not that much talent left in that division.
