If Apple paid him, he would be under the control of Apple. Apple is very controlling and they’re firing a lot of employees and they don’t pay well and independent reviewer. He can tell the good and the bad without having to look at the company directories you’re always better off with an independent reviewer. That’s what I do. Nobody buys my time on my recommendations.
@@kentnortonneurocoach7 Apple has not laid off many employees, especially not in the grand scale of the rest of the tech industry, and the pay is really good here at Apple, even for entry level Apple Store Specialists. Try doing a little research before baselessly trashing on anything..

@@BrandonButch So I’m on iOS 17 and I need help whenever I go to the iTunes Store and go to the bottom There’s a section to type in your Apple ID and so I did that and I scrolled down to where it says “hidden purchases” because I need to unhide some music that I previously installed but when I tapped on the “hidden purchases” tab it said you do not have any purchased apps so now I can’t unhide any of my older music… I don’t know if this is an intended change or this is a bug… plz help

StandBy mode also works with a cable, not just with MagSafe
Yeah, since it only expects a landscape rotation and you being on a charger. It doesn’t matter what type, though. That way, I can switch to my 5W charger to charge my phone at night and put less strain on it that way.
This really makes me appreciate how much work goes into creating these software updates

You mentioned that for Standby it has to be on a Magsafe or Magsafe compatible charger. You can plug it in with a cable and turn it sideways and it will activate. It does work more consistently on a MagSafe charger for me.

There's so many quality of life improvements that really does help out a lot , like being able to save full screen screenshots to your gallery, being able to turn bluetooth off for good from the spotlight , and so many others , its amazing💯💯

@@just3ofus721 So far while using it on my 13 pro it seems to be fully functioning fine.The only bugs I have experienced are UI bugs but in terms of normal function it’s working great-Also the experience can actually seem faster at times simply because of the features they added such as predictive text-It makes typing so much better-Anyway as always everyone’s experience is different but so far it’s very smooth.
@@just3ofus721 If you don’t believe me-Then believe results because I just ran a Geekbench 6 test on iOS 17 and received: A Single core score of : 2424 A Multi core score of : 6083 Now previously I ran one on iOS 16 and got these: A single core score of : 2288 A multi core score of :5393 As you see iOS 17 is better!

I have to say, I totally ignored the Health app from the day it came out a few years back, until I suddenly had to be rushed to the hospital and I was critical for 3 days, when I finally was released, I found out everything that app could do and now every one of my health records are in there downloaded directly from my doctors, all medications, symptoms, health conditions etc, so if this were to ever happen again (hopefully not), the EMT can access the health screen from the Lock Screen and know everything from my blood type to my whole medical history!! Now after watching your videos, I am setting up this other stuff in there too.
In iOS 17, I noticed that the default notification tone is changed to - rebound instead of tri-tone. And now, it is too quiet. I hope that they fix this in the upcoming build ASAP.
You can always change the default notification tone back to tri tone.
I believe standby works on non MagSafe chargers as well. As long as your phone is charging and in landscape and locked it comes on
correct. been doing that for weeks. not even magsafe, any wireless charger...my bedside charger is an 8 year old wireless Qi stand.

Ok, the reminder app lowkey might be my favorite thing about the update. THE EFFICIENCY!!!! & The messaging app. My hubby is very expressive, so live photos and stickers make me so happy and brings my messaging alive and also brings a smile to everyone's face lol.

If you have custom text tones, DO NOT CHANGE THEM OR PLAY AROUND WITH THE NEW SOUNDS!! There's a bug where custom ring/text tones will show up in the ringtones list but not the text tone section, only allowing default text tones. Can someone on the beta please file this as a bug in the Feedback app? EDIT: This applies to any of the alert sound you can change aside from ringtones.
This might be intentional, since custom alert sounds on macOS also appear to be on their way out.
I learnt this the hard way lol.

So basically if u have a text tone from tones store n you download iOS 17 the text tone sound will still be under text tone as long as you don’t change it? Is that correct?
@@beckyc9786 any tones purchased can be restored from the store as that option still exists. Any .m4r files you created yourself and added to your phone will not show up under anything other than ringtones.

If you were on the Release Candidate, that was already the RTM build, just released earlier for beta testers. So no, unless your phone becomes slow after it.

What a great video - I have had to split and watch it in parts but great tips. My only thing is when in standby using sleep focus you can’t have the always on display on, it goes to sleep which is a bummer as I love this feature but I use sleep focus at night time
