"The server almost felt like a museum" is such an intelligent way to describe why the server started to loose its momentum. Later on, the server felt far more like a "greatest hits" collection, where characters would do more of the same. The egg banquet really showed this off for me. It was, in large part, a bunch of established characters getting together, and then some other big characters coming in and having a fight. It was a museum of characters doing not very much. This isn't me hating on the server, I love the dream smp, and the story it told. I'm just sad that it didn't last any longer, but glad we got what we did

@@LJAKATXF no. the dream smp will never get the popularity of 2020. Quarintine, MrBeast, TommyInnit, Wilber, and Dream were just the best thing ever. But its not 2020 anymore. Its 2022. A lot of people like me have grown up and out of it. Its sad, if I could go back to 2020 I would. But all good things come to an end. The 2010s, best times ever (and 2020 and 2021 honestly) are over. its time for the snowflake generation to take over. Also Dream announced that the SMP wouldn't be planned anymore because Techno was too big in the storyline

I’m late to the party, but I’m bawling my eyes out right now. I may not have been on the entire dream smp journey, but watching the videos have forever changed my life. This was a great era, and I’m happy that I was able to live during this period of time. This is when the quote “don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” hits the hardest. Tributes to techno as well, techno never dies.

the way Tommy talked about Techno, how "it didn't feel real", that's exactly how I felt until he actually left. I did NOT FEEL REAL because Techno was fighting so strong and giving us the best of him from the very beginning to the very end. From the "where I've been" vid, I was like: wtf he got CANCER?????? and then I heard him stream and talk about almost becoming an amputee and all the hilariousness and I was like: huh, he's getting better now! I simply did not realize how sever it already was when he had to learn to walk and how he cannot move his shoulder. He never told anyone it was stage 4. I literally balled my eyes out on Jul 1st and this time as well. RIP Technoblade. You are and will always be remembered.

Watching this on the 15th of March, and made me realized how much I miss the dsmp and the people in it. Technoblade will forever be in my heart.
Watching the video again nearly 2 years later still gave me the same feelings I felt when I first watched it. It’s weird that I have some how accepted that the dream smp ended over a year ago now, it’s so sad watching some of them fall off, especially the ones we never expected that would fall off.

This hits different knowing that there will be no season 2. I really miss that excitement and spark from the height of the smp, and I don’t really have any new interests to fill in that gap. All the creators are moving their separate ways, and I sometimes get so nostalgic for having the comfort of those smp streams to look forward to. That being said I’m so glad that it happened, and I look forward to seeing what other project the dsmp members get up to, especially with the announcement of the qsmp!
I started watching TommyInnit during Covid. I remember when he first played on the Dream Smp and killed George to the final days of Dream in the prison. I was never rich enough to donate or sub or anything but I’m glad the content was there for everyone to view. It made life a little easier in the hard times of lockdown. It felt like I was a part of something huge even though no one ever knew me. I held off on watching this Tribute for long enough cause it feels like I’m letting that all go. Thank you so much Tommy for making me survive thru the whole pandemic, The whole year 2020-2021 was the worst year for me because of many things losing my friends, failing academically, and failing to take care of myself but one thing helped thru out all the tough times was the DreamSMP and your streams even though I live in Asia I remember the first app I would open every day was twitch just to see if you were streaming or not. When Tommy immediately searched the server for any notes left behind from Technoblade, I can really feel him. He wasn't live near him and couldn't just immediately go seeing him, so he's trying to find any kind of his presence left to at least say his goodbye, knowing that he can never see Techno again. I used to hate the Dream SMP. At least I thought I did. My friends had all told me how it was all scripted and cringy, and I believed them. But what I did really love was Technoblade. Eventually (this is long after "so long nerds" and probably soon before the SMP ended anyway) I started watching his old Dream SMP streams, and I loved them. I started watching Tommy's streams too, after finding him through Techno's videos. To this day, I wish that I had watched those streams while the SMP still existed. Watching those videos myself made me realise how much effort and time my favourite KZheadrs were pouring into Dream SMP. I realised that I didn't care that it was scripted, or that it was "cringy". I loved it. RIP Techno. I think that watching your videos probably changed my life. Blood for the Blood God. Technoblade Never Dies. Anyway, sorry if this got overly emotional/dramatic. To put it in Tommy's words, "I'm a nostalgic gamer."

The way for Tommy is that he asked himself ‘If I was born earlier,’ ‘less cringy,’ ‘worked harder’ is just how I’m questioning myself and my school life problems. I got expelled and questioned myself ‘If I stopped myself,’ ‘killed myself’ even. Seeing another people especially famous people relate makes me feel valid in a community I love.
