@@XSV.Animate.Lab_723 I suggest the Grant Morrison run and Geoff Jhons run on the character (Wally). The villains are also different in the sense that they are actually competent and have real reasons why the Flash does not just blitz them.

If a Flashpoint story doesn't include Reverse-flash and a heartfelt letter from Thomas Wayne to his son, then that's story is already doomed to fail.
Honestly I hope this story never gets adapted again. I used to be a fan but now I want more exposure for other Flash stories. Also the comics ruined it since Doctor Manhattan was behind everything from the start, makes the whole “time boom” talk meaningless.
@@yungdre4500 I definitely agree with you. But I don't think WB would. They haven't stopped killing Bruce's parents in every live action they made except the new Batman movie. Also tbh the story could work if they just ignore Manhattan in live action completely or nerf his power like MCU does.
Reverse Flash is so amazing in this movie, that the fans created a dubbed over scene that is 100% in character and 100% better than the original dialogue. I'm glad that people are giving this movie and Under The Red Hood its flowers. Also Crisis of Two Earths especially. These three movies were so good and so popular that DC made inferior remakes of all of them essentially.

Crisis on Two Earths - Crisis on Infinite Earths(I'm aware of the actual comics obviously, but this movie and the way it was made is a poor man's version) 3. Flashpoint Paradox - Justice Society World War 2, Crisis on Infinite Earths, AND Suicide Squad Hell to Pay. That last one especially either rehashes, remakes, retcons, stuff that happened in this particular movie. I'm not reaching because Hell to Pay specifically has this Reverse Flash.

No, the takeaway is that the writers of DCAU almost never miss and the live action people can't write for shit.
Almost like there is a reason the Flash has a fanbase and continues to have a franchise of comics and stories. In the hands of competent writers, he's actually a really interesting character.
@finn_underwood That’s my go to for folks who say a character is inherently bad. It’s all about the execution, and the craft. Flash rogues gallery is awesome but thanks to the CW and the movies they are horribly wasted and written. Whereas the JL and JLU cartoon handled Flash very well. Especially the Flash appreciation day cartoon.

Hell if they had copied their competitor, Marvel's MCU they would have had a plan, at least a setup for the characters before they make the Justice League. It wouldn't have made the DCEU great, but it would have had a semblance of coherence at least!

06:05 you got it wrong, Superman cant time travel. they needed him to fight in a war in order to kill zoom and regain access to speeeeeed *EDIT* new Mandela effect just dropped. When I saw the movie, they needed to recruit Superman to stop the war (and by extension, find zoom), now Ive seen the movie and it is indeed implied that Superman was needed to travel through time! This may also mean that Superman, canonically has wall-building vision (if theyre taking Superman's powerset from the Reeves movies). Which means this was indeed the worst flash movie
I think he's talking about that one time that kryptonians could time travel in the comics (sourced from a Death Battle comic book scan, Superman vs Goku 3), but this one probably can't I'm assuming?

Best April fools video. In all seriousness, I really like this movie. It’s what happens when you put the thought and care into telling a story. Flash is a cool character who has been horrendously handled in live action. But stuff like this and JL and JLU cartoons show that you can handle this competently.

Flashpoint Paradox is definitely an amazing movie. Good animation, likeable characters you can root for, engaging plot and nice messages/themes. One of my favourite parts of the movie is probably the one where Bruce reads the letter from his dad after Barry returns to the original timeline at the end, it's really touching.
Seeing Madvocate actually enjoying something is a great thing to see, we rarely see that in the channel.

The animated JLA Flash is easily the best on screen interpretation. Gets all of his character aspects right IMO.
That’s interesting, that could add some depth. If all Flash characters have to build up speed. Like for the first 5 seconds they run regularly then go to Olympic speed, then car speed, to superhero speed. Because then villains would have a chance against him. And it could get interesting.

There's one thing I hate about Flashpoint is the thing that started the whole thing, his mom's death. Barry Allen originally had two living parents who even showed in his wedding when he was about to get married, until retconed that Reverse Flash killed his mom and later Barry time travels to save her but for some reason it created a whole new timeline like he wasn't supposed to save her?? Even though she's originally supposed to be alive?? The whole thing forces us to forget that his mom was always alive and instead tells us that she was dead all along and it's a fixed point. It can work in stories where she was always supposed to be dead but not in the original comics.
Geoff Johns greatest mistake (?) giving Barry some big tragedy early on that wasn't neccesary

Thawn himself is a paradox, so all of his actions are a paradox, including killing Barrys mom. Barry going back in time and saving his mom creates all these issues because he isn't a paradox like Thawn, and the universe doesn't like time travel.
Wait there is a villain named the Top? Whose his sidekick? The Bottom? Is his good alter ego the Power Bottom?

You mentioned the "slight differences" at the end, but yeah that's actually what it was for this universe. I believe this one was pretty standalone, but in the comics (as while they're messy, they still have continuity). This was the cause of a massively controversial soft reboot for DC. One which had several stories adapted into another animated universe as well. That universe also got reset after a super grim dark Knightmare-type storyline though. With Flash going back with John Constantine's help, which is why the newer animated crossover movie has Flash & Constantine be the only one to kind of remember the previous continuity.

I actually liked the Flashpoint animated movie better than the Flashpoint comic event. That's rare for me to like the animated adaptation better than the comic it's based on lol And yeah, the costume change was your indication that the timeline was altered, and we got many more films in this new timeline until Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.
I watched it couple years ago, I have always been a fan of the DC animated Universe. It is more cohesive and realistic than the actual true human life movies and shows. Happy you share a similar view of this Flash film. Where is one of the most likable characters, that could not be said for the other Flash.
The problem with comic book movies isn’t just executives but directors and screenwriters that can’t get over themselves. Someone already told the story and did an amazing job. Why fuck with it?

I really like that take on Flash. I can’t say how well his speed was used fully during the series but I liked how there were costs to it like eating calories or if he did move very fast; he could get stuck in the speed force.
The animated Justice League movies are pretty much ALL much much better than anything DC has put out in live action in...... Like ever. The JLU cartoon is great too. Animation is the superior entertainment medium, fight me.

I love Keaton Batman, but they should have given him Batman Beyond, because not getting Jeffery Dean Morgan as Flashpoint Batman is an actual crime that WB still needs to pay for.

oh, what you said at 8:14 reminded me of a scene in "Batman Beyond: return of the Joker": i've seen two versions of the scene where Tim Drake killed the Joker. in the version you've probably seen on KZhead, Tim quickly turns around and shoots Joker, who says "that's not funny at all", and collapses. in the OTHER version, which i once saw on Cartoon Network, Tim tosses the gun aside, then SHOVES Joker. Joker staggers backwards, trips over a bucket of water, gets tangled up in the wiring of one of the crude machines he had tortured Tim with, then, while trying to get loose, accidentally turns it on! they didn't even SHOW him getting zapped, it suddenly jumped to the outside of the building, and you heard a very brief scream.

Seriously. Super speed is the most overpowered ability and it’s just never utilized to its full potential.
@@ProvosesOP powers require a level of skill to write properly. What are superpowers but tools to resolve problems in this case plot problems like defeating the bad guy and saving the day. The issue is not using them well or establishing tools that fix the problems to easily or worse are ignored for payoffs. That’s why for Flash I always liked the idea of him needing to eat a lot when using his powers. Makes sense given he runs a lot and can create some unique situations. Stuff like vibration through walls creates problems as well as speed force travel. Though, JL animated flash handled this well with Wally needing to build up speed to use this speed force power and there’s a cost of him being dragged into it and never coming back.
I feel like a stand-alone trilogy would work for The Flash. Like The Dark Knight trilogy. The first movie is an origin story so the main problem for him is how to handle his powers. He could defeat his villain in a second but he just doesn't know how to do it yet. The second movie has the villain with a unique power that counters The Flash's super speed or the villain sets up a situation that The Flash cannot easily solve. The third movie is flashpoint and the villain is the reverse flash. Or it is not flashpoint but the villain is still a speedster like Zoom.
When will Flash Season 5 come? I appreciate all of your works too!🙏
