What did the actual problem end up being I have this same exact noise in my 4runner and I’ve been chasing it for months

I believe the problem was due to the driveline angles and the rotation of the axle under accel / decel. I ended up purchasing a Tom Woods Slip Yoke Eliminator kit and new CV driveshaft. Pricey, but 100% worth it!

@@robstccg So you didn't have an issue with your rear pinion gear going bad? I have a similar sound but my pinion gear is still tight. the noise isn't as pronounced as yours but the last 10mph to stop while braking, you can hear it.

Would this cause the car to feel like it’s being dragged this sounds very similar to my vehicle when I decelerate but is now making the sounds as I am normally driving?
