What Are We Even Allowed to Talk About Now?

James Corden kicks off the show and can't help but notice a low energy in the room: is it the hangover from former president Barack Obama's appearance, or is it because the big network brass gave us a stern talking to? And after James looks at President Joe Biden's joyride in an EV truck, he wonders what we should do first once California's mask restrictions are lifted.

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

  • I feel like that “talking to” must not have gone well. The whole vibe in this monologue is that feeling when you’re having fun, being loud as a kid and someone’s parent comes in, yells at everyone, making it awkward and everyone’s salty about being yelled at. Y’all know exactly the vibe I mean. 😂

  • Like I've said before: James and Ian are 7yr old twin boys getting into perpetual antics and will build each other up. Reggie is the 9yr old cousin who's old enough to know juuuust how far to go but let's "the boys" get in trouble. Rob is the 15yr old who watches the kids mostly. As far as he'll go is, "you KNOW mom is gonna woop you if she finds out..." but other than that, he's the cool big bro. When dad's home, and the older kids don't have the "responsibility" cloud over them, they have no problem conspiring with the young 'uns.

But everyone has their job to do, and it must have been making theirs difficult. Shame Nick got in trouble, he is so sweet. Surely it is the show they are selling and the show is going good. This format is the best, the team work so well together, and obviously enjoy being there I get the feeling that if you hurt one of them you hurt them all, hence the sad vibe initially.

  • Ah man, James and Ian got a timeout in the corner. How will the show possibly go on? I think it's time to ask Dave about the Patti LuPone situation or check in with Oprah on the O-tel development status. Also, would have been funny if you did the headlines without naming any of the brands referenced and instead substituting generic references to Ford and the Pickle juice seltzer and whatever other companies were referenced.

  • They were doing something special. This show would be more "open" like back to front. I was watching it and rooting for them, for thr people who made the show. They sold gap and those cruses better then that sales team would ever. Do you know how hard it is to sell cruse ship tickets these days? After pandemic? Hard. I guess they made a comment about sales team and sales complained. Feel sorry for Nik, he probably never thought he would end up in the middle of this shit. Corporate just wasnt prepared for it, and its hard to change business strategy with this kind of budget.

  • I am so upset that they got their hands slapped about name dropping brands. The best part of the show was the fun and mischief they got into as a team. I like watching James talk to the crew and ask them to do funny things. That was literally better than anything they’ve done on the show before the pandemic. I’m so upset! I’ll stopping watching if it goes back to normal!
