Too cute, but that's why they're called Springers. Mine was doing this same jumping bit, coming down a steep hillside in the woods, and found out the hard way that he was 10 feet off the ground at the end of his 'spring'. He quickly figured out he could only spring along going sideways with the hill. I've had four springers since the mid-70s and all were great swimmers. While I was fishing in a canoe on an 8 acre lake around 1990, my daughter (6) was throwing rocks in the water for our Springer (my second one) to dive 3 or 4 feet underwater and retrieve them. After about 45 minutes of this she called me to come look what he had done. As he brought the rocks back to the beach area, he had sorted them into 3 piles, small, medium, and large, before going back to the shoreline to wait for her to dig another one up and throw it for him. He could 'spring' over a 3-foot fence from standing flat-footed. ...Twenty years later in 2010, dog #4 and I are in the same canoe fishing in the same lake. He never once jumped out, he was calmly watching from the front seat,, and knew when I had hooked one. Then he eagerly waited until I had it in the canoe so he could lick it. Yuck! : ) He was a good fishing buddy. He made it to the very old age for Springers of 16 years and 9 months, and was active up until the last 3 months. The two males I had were big fellas, both between 75 and 80 pounds in their prime.

Why are US dog owners so cruel. Springers have beautiful tails as do most dog but the yanks mutilate them by cropping the tails, why??? It is cruel
@jimwalsh85202 жыл бұрын
Do some research. It is for their job. Many springers are breed for hunting. They crop the tails so it doesn’t get caught in the branches and woods. It is the breeders choice and the buyer usually doesn’t have a choice. It’s done when they are a day old and it doesn’t hurt them. I have had 2 springers, my last didn’t have have her tail cropped but my current one does. It doesn’t make a difference and I don’t care whether it is cropped or not.

@@caleighdadey5381 I am an English Springer breeder, we have both working with short hair and show longer hair and NO ONE who uses the working dogs crops their tails. You have had their tails cropped for your own pathetic cosmetic reasosns but the yanks crop all breeds. It is cruel and barbaric. Any dog in the UK is protected by law. Crop that tail for cosmetic reasons, of any breed, you could fce a large fine or prison. That is how it should be and not to suit the USA dog owners.
