Well, I've been watching the NBA since the late 70's, never heard of the dude until the Sixers signed him. Most people don't stumble across KZhead channels featuring high school ballers like this one. I honestly don't care about players in any sport until they reach the pro level. The worst player on any pro sports team was the best player on every other team he ever played on. I'm glad my Sixers got him though for sure.

I've been watching him since high school and this was some of the footage I watched, and some of the dunks he hasn't even tried yet & he admitted that there were four that he still had in his bag, so now there's a great anticipation for the next years dunk contest which he said he would participate in as well

People were criticizing him being in it because he's not an allstar and coming from the G league. But I believe him being invited has to be him being a known dunker from highschool. He saved the dunk contest. I haven't went back to watch a dunk contest other than the '16 duo with Lavine and Gordon. And now I'm going back just to see Mcclungs dunks
Same here. After they robbed Gordon not once but TWICE I was done with the dunk contest. McClung made it worthwhile.
If people want to get upset with anyone, it should be the actual allstars who can't be bothered to show up for the dunk contest. If the Ja Morants of the world aren't going to do it , the NBA might as well find g league guys who will.

They don't have all stars in the dunk contest very often. It's usually solid starters who are very athletic and young. All stars used to be in the dunk contest all the time back in the 80s and 90s but not so much anymore. Vince Carter was around the last of the era of superstars being in the contest. Lebron, Westbrook and a lot of other guys have dodged it for years. Bron teased that he might but never did.

I think some of them are in game dunkers and maybe can't get too creative in a contest. If Ja Morant never ends up participating in a dunk contest it would be a slap in the face to the contest if the leagues most athletic stars won't participate.

Was always impressed with his reverse, probably one of the few people at his level that doesn’t need multiple reps. It just seems like he can take off from anywhere and land it when he doesn’t get full extension. What I didn’t know about was his baseline with two hands, max height and full extension.
