i been growing mine for over a year now and it looks like shit. my hair is dry and frizzy. it doesnt look good. im using masks every couple days and it doesnt help much.
@@paugasolina5048 i noticed a similar thing when i was growing my hair out last year. i suspect one culprit was my pillowcase. your hair is rubbing against it while you move in your sleep. i recommend a good silk pillowcase to minimize friction. also, it's important to get your hair touched up while you're growing it out. i.e. getting dead ends trimmed off.
Lol😂😂😂
Can't hold the nut anymore 😂
@@RE-bw7of good point. not only on your hair but also your face will be less prone to acne using good silk pillowcase
I just had a haircut today a few hours ago and then this instantly came on my feed.💀
It's a sign bro😭
Me too
I been growing my hair for the past 7 mths and i started from a short french crop. Now looking back on my journey it was a great achievement for me. i didn't made any maintenance trim or layering. JUST LET IT GROW...
That's exactly how im.trtunh to grow my hair out to look like now. The girl that cuts my hair I've been with for 5 yrs and I pay 150 every cut. I'm in the awkward stage now but so I'm waiting another month before i go see her to clean up.
What style are you going for? I like the Jax teller side part look, but I feel like people think it's overused @JTyler-je3fb
I wish that would work for me, I have to cut my hair every 4 months or else my hairs would split and would look like a sponge 😔
Perfect timing for this video to drop. Cheers! No more short back and sides for me.
Perfect timing indeed
fr perfect timing
I've always wanted my hair long but I always quited about 3 months in because how bad it looked to me. Thanks for the info, I think I'll give it a try again.
Got my hair cut to that 2nd stage in mid January from a $20 cut, now I have exactly that 3rd stage style
This is a very useful lecture with practical demonstrations, extremely helpful to all aiming to growing out their hair... Fed up of prototype hairstyles.. Thank you great Steven..
What timing! I grew out my hair like I had it back in 90s. It was shoulder a total mushroom cut. But since I am 50 now, my aged growth wasn't growing like I wanted it. Thicker in areas and thinner in others. My hair was not laying right due to age. But it was a good thing my hairdresser and I let it get to that stage. She went in with a razor and comb technique. First time I ever got one. Now it's fuller and more healthy looking than it has been. I have top length, trimmed around the ears and back. I'm going to work right now. I can't wait for the feedback of my coworkers and customers. Thanks Steve for keeping us aware and never giving up chasing that ideal hair we've been searching for.
Hope it went well
Currently at around month six of growing my hair out; it's definitely at an awkward stage 😅 The back of my hair sort of curls towards my ears, but not long enough where it looks purposeful. I just need the sides to grow out more!
growed it out for 7-8 months just to have it butchered by a inexperienced barber after paying 20 bucks. bro gave me a grown out mullet looking haircut
SAME 😭😭😭 barbers here suck man
Growing my hair since the last 5 months, just had 1 maintainance cut during this time which set my hair out in the right growth pattern, he is right just let the hair grow out don't cut often and tell your barber you are trying to grow out your hair
I've always wanted to grow my hair out, but my mom always complains that it's too long and pressures me into going. My barber never butchered it, but I did request the sides to be shorter. I miss my hair from 2 months ago, even though it's grown since then.
Hi I grew my hair for 1 year n 4 months I'm still growing I had some awkward times that I wanted to cut it but I use Indian hemp products n it help a lot it's good n kept my hair lookin great it's a hair treatment n to make it grow it's sold at Walmart n very cheap
I love your videos but I also like how shiny your head looks 😂 keep up the good work 🎉🎉
From the weekly military 5$ cut growing up im now learning to have long hair
Ive been growing out my hair for 7 months and went to a “salon” for a semi cut. I did exactly what you said not do and spent more than I had to on a stupid cut from someone who didn’t know shit, a few days ago. Now I know
That made me laugh hard

Relatable. Thank God a good place just opened up near me. All the barbers before were people that were working on pure experience fuel.
personally when I swapped from a very short sidepart to a mid length middle part I just made the hair look as close as possible to normal then swapped very quickly
I've just been slicking it down with products and I've had the back and sides trimmed around the ears and neck. Roll on summer!
what products do you use to slick it back?
@@emersonbarahona7449 I have fine hair, it’s pretty uncontrollable without product. I wet it then dry to about 90% with a towel. A small amount of basic gel or a matt rework paste worked through to add weight then loose styling. The paste is normally saved for occasions as it was really expensive.

Get a buzz cut & then let your hair grow for 7 years ,ull have long hair
No... please don't... There's no need to buzz cut your hair entirely in order to grow it out. Also, trimming your hair once in a while as it grows is highly recommendable in order to fix some parts that seem odd and shape everything into place.
@@Melody2004.dawg he’s joking about tf

@Melody2004. I guarantee my hair is healthier & nicer than yours ,haven't had a single trim in over 7 years ,no split ends ,don't need a trim ,professional stylist even confirms it, can u donate 3 feet of healthy virgin hair to wigs for kids & they accept, cause I can
Doesnt take 7 years. 2-3 years for long from a buzz.
i have little thick hair and i had a middle part, then my hair started to feel really heavy so i decided to get a trim. I asked my barber to just shape it and thin it out a little but he took his clippers and showed me how bad my hair can look
Show barber a pic of what you want(yes, even if it's an anime) Tell him about your issues regarding your hair (to full of volume, tangling, and visible moon sized forehead) then he'll either do it for you or tell you why and what you can do
I hope you can make a hairstyle for long hair when the head is square and long, but why does the hair twist when it comes down? I hope you can explain this topic. ❤🙏🏻
my trick is to just not care about it and boom year gone by now the hair is down my shoulders
Yes I have had a situation like that and I did not go to a haircut for 10 months
Currently in awkward stage, Im thinkin of giving it some time but im close to getting it cut, but this video is helpful and the timing is great👍 👍
How is it going?
How is going right now I'm in awkward phase i know it's just 2week but still how it's going
The awkward stage has really pushed me to the brink of getting my hair cut, to the point where I once changed my mind _at_ the barber's. Whenever I decide to get it cut, a video like this pops up. I think it's a sign 😅.
@@fredericwessling6886 I ended up getting a haircut just a few weeks back, I live in south east asia and the heat here makes having long hair really uncomfortable..
@@noormohamed11 Sadly, I ended up getting it cut because of extreme heat here in south east asia..
Best thing I could've done for growing my hair out was actually a major color change up top, (I have dark brown hair, so lightened it up), and that contrast is *huge* for looking awesome in my opinion. Shit was sharp, made me last half a year without cutting it then I got to the first stage-ish he showed in the video, after there it's been pretty smooth, it's actually much worse thinking about cutting it than not now, I can't go back
3:44 u guys never think about changing the manikin cuz this one looks scary
its eyes are so creepy, it's as if the manikin was a real human being and turned into a mannikin for this video
Been growing out my hair from all direction and its reaching the flow. i am entering the awkward stage and I do have a pro tip to maintain it. Just use 2-3 drops of any oil on your palm and mix it with little amount of water and apply to your hairs and its gonna really help you out. Above all, just let it grow.
Help you out how though?
hey i got coarse hair, will I be able to grow it out?
@@BobRoss-wm3lcTo maintain the sides and back, probably. When you're growing your hair out, the sides and back really just.... puff up and there's no way to handle it. They really destroy the overall look.
7:38 Bloody hell, that is a LOT 😅 Fair enough though.
Not fair enough at all, that’s outrageous for a haircut lol
Fr what the hell 200 dollars is wild no way
Perfect timing, haven't had a hair cut in 11 months. Getting frustrated, what to do?
This is my haircut a month ago: Top/Front: Buzzcut Top/Front: Size 8 guard clippers Side section: Mid burst fade Upper side ( Left/right ): Size 4 guard Cliffers. Lower side ( Left/Right ): 0 Back section: Mid taper fade Back section (upper): size 5 guard Back section (Lower side): 1 Nape finishes: Round Is this a good start?
Hairtype: Wavy | 2C Wavy with well-defined S-shaped waves Thickness: medium Porosity: Low porosity
I'm going for the "hockey flow" kind of look, similar to the 3rd mannequin you showed in this video. I started growing my hair out from a skin fade on the sides, and a bit longer on the top, this was in October of 2023. I'm coming up on about 6 months of growing my hair out and I'd say the awkward phase for me was from months 2-5. It just recently started to have enough length where I can slick it back and it holds it shape, as well as being able to tuck the sides behind my ears. I tried a lot of different products and my current go to is the medium hold matte pomade from your shop. It gives my hair a natural look, doesn't look shiny like with some other pomades, and it lasts forever. Using a tooth comb too has made my hair look a bit better as well. I have yet to go to a stylist to get it properly layered and shaped, however in about 2 months when I have the desired length I want, that will be my next step. Thanks for the video man!
5 month awkward stage?!
@@Moomakk-nb1oc No no, between months 2 and 5 of growing my hair out was when it was a bit awkward, so a 2 month awkward stage haha.
When you say the product lasts forever do you mean the hold it gives or the amount in the container?

Is the hairstyle on the third mannequin a medium length, layered flow?
I've been growing my hair out now bout 8 months of no haircut. I got curls coming in, and it drives me crazy, they got minds of their own and sometimes I think I got Medusa style hair lol. I'm going for long hair like Dracula from the Castlevania anime series.

I went 5 months and then had a maintenance cut. 2 months later I went to a barber who simply didn’t have a clue and gave me an awful cut. But at least I’ve learned a valuable lesson. I won’t be doing that again!
Bro is helping us fight a war , which he can't fight for.
How to keep it that way tho? I mean it will grow longer eventually... Should i get layered every few months ? Or something else pls reply
Hey Mike, does this work for straight hair?
One day just one day i will have it long
I have wavy surfery type hair however when i grow it out and it reaches the length of me being able to pull it down to my chin, it starts to poof out and sort of looks a bit like a mess my hair starts sticking out sideways and turns into almost an afro looking thing, and I dont know if its an awkward stage or how to combat it, ive tried sea salt, hair drying it. my hair is very thick and does like flips at the ends any way of getting into contact to send you an image of this poofy mess?
A salon butchered my hair because i asked to make a flowy or a mid part style. They just straight up no.1 using the clippers and hacked my sides.
Hello, ive been struggling with my hair. When it dries out, it becomes puffy and hard to style, do you know any solutions for my hair to be lay flat? Thank you
I clean shaved my head 17 months ago and since haven't got a single haircut or touched it other than combing it to make it not tangle. I haven't really even though about it and that I may look like a goblin like this. I wonder what a professional hairdresser would think of my current hairstyle xd
I have coarse hair. Any tips on how to maintain this type of hair?

That's why I don't trust any local barbers in my area because I'm scared they might give me a low taper fade instead of just simply TRIMMING MY HAIR. I just go to a salon instead.
Say if my hair has less hair but it's wavy curly-ish with a weird volume and whenever it grows out, the top part is always flat but the ends are way too wavy. How do i fix that?

Oh my God, Terry! 💜💜💜
I'm 33 years old, I've never had a good haircut in my life. I still havent found the hairstyle that i can sport comportably and that doesn't collapse two days after haircut. Im finally at stage 2 hairfall of male pattern baldness, but im growing out my thin, damaged hair, its gets curly if i dint wash but straight and flowy when i wash. I have no idea what im doing.
My hair was growing since September 2023, because i've set myself a goal to try to achieve Brad Pitt's haircut from World War Z movie. I have required length of hair, maybe a little longer, but i kind of can't style it the proper way. I middle part hair on top, try to put sides behind my ears, but most of hair gets out and are covering ears. With hair spray they hold there a little tho, but then there is back part, where actor's hair are straight, and mine are little curly. I guess it is not haircut for me, lol. I've came here to seek some tips what to do with longer hair, before i cut them. If there is a chance, i would appreciate video of how to achieve Brad Pitt's haircut from said movie and how to maintain it. :} Thanks
I grew my hair out to the next level to the last mannequin you saw on the video but everytime my hair started to grow longer I cut the sides really short, so now ny hair on top is a little bit longer then the last mannequin but the sides is the same as the 1st or the 2nd one, is this a problem or not?
i asked my barber for layers in my hair i have a haircut similar to the last head you showed in this video instead my barber went crazy with thinning shears now my hair feels flat lifeless and extremely knotty and frizzy
My hair had grown out to about past my ears, longer than I've ever had it. Went in, and came out with a bowl cut just above my eyebrows 😭
What about curly high volume hair?
The whole reason I have undercut is I want the long but not the shaggy look around the neck.
Do u have a taper or fade?
I personally have a taper fade and left the top of my hair long so it looks clean if I pick it up, instead of shaggy and crazy.
@@XanVicious ye I also got a taper so I have barely a full head with fresh taper

I wanted to ask this since I've been trying to grow out my hair again. Again cuz i did grow it out once till the perfect stage but butchered it. I won't say it's exactly the barber's fault but i was more scared of the fact that my hair got severely dry and i started having really bad hairfall. Thankfully I'm all good now and my hair is growing healthy again after a year.
So I wanted to ask if there's any way to make sure your hair stays healthy as it grows out. I try to shampoo once a week and use a hairmask and conditioner whenever I do that. Aside from that my hair is quite well now and not at all dry.
Sir your products aren’t available in India please make them available through flipkart
So every time I grow out my pixie I end up cutting it back off myself and I do really want to grow out my hair again
Where can I book you to cut my hair so it grows like the last example
I have very straight hair and idk how to get texture on it cuz it's very oily is there any product that works
What haircut should I get in order for it to grow out like this? A fade? A Taper? Or something else?
Bro first try to grow the hair, then u can style as you want...🙂
how do you get the back that nice on the last one? having a hard time with that part…
All the barbers and male stylist in my city suck, i show them picture of haircuts I want, then they always just give me a fade and dont layer my hair. I might just go to a female stylist instead since i know they deal with long hair.
Yes that’s best
Hey man I know I'm a little late to this video but I've tried growing out my hair to the last stage that you showed, but it looks horrible because my hair starts fluffing and it looks like a hair cut from the 80s
My hair has always been frizzy. The odd thing is, I'm the only one in my family like that. My younger sister, father, and mother all have smooth hair that they can easily style however they want. Then there's me, who's always had this bizarre frizzy hair that refuses to join together, and if left unchecked, could form static hair. I've even tried using conditioners for a month, but that did nothing. I just think I got the short end of the genetic stick.
Then you probably don’t have straight hair, try conditioning only, and when your hair is damp apply some mousse or gel, then let it air dry.
This is me wit but wit a patchy beard😑..i just cant make thru that damn awkward stage😩so insecure lol🤦♂️
Or, once you get it shaped wait 3 to 6 months for another trim and take care of your hair like it's as fragile as glass.
The problem with my hair is that it grows sideways and not towards the front 😭 i look ridiculous (literally like a mushroom) and I am forced to cut it 🫠
If you want something specific you really need to communicate with your barber and tell them exactly what you’re looking for. Tell them about what you like about your hair and what you don’t like about it and get on the same page
That 2nd face looks like it's trying it's best to not laugh out😂
How to determine what my hairtype cause if i cut like short it becomes straight but when it longer hair it goes like a spaghetti hairtype just i don't know my hairtype pls help me
Ok can someone guide me so i cant my gair few months ago and it was a fade with the top part long now its all grown out and i decided to grow my hair longer so idk if i should cut and level it or let it groww because the upper hair is at least 2 times longer than the side for info

I'm planning on growing my hair out long for the first time ever. I went from shorter sides/back to longer on top, but I think I can find something better. What should I do, it's been about 2 months since that haircut. My hair now almost goes in front of my eyes. 100% straight and fine hair (not thinning). At least at this length anyway..

0:35 Im kinda at that weird stage. the hair on the sides and neck grow faster so now it feels longer than the hair on top just have to get through a couple of months and it'll still feel weird
8:15 Yeah couple times. One time buzzed it for summer and the barber lined it up. One time a barber like completely buzzed half my top length for a "combover" aka didnt want to blend the sides. Then another time where the stylist just didnt blend the length into the sides right or too high. Its really touchy stuff but its your hair youre paying them
