  • I think that since both humans and horses differ in height IRL, it is actually more realistic if there are some differences in size among miniatures in your army.

    • For sure I totally agree with you my friend! If you watch a couple of older videos on the channel titled ''Mixing and Matching'' this is exactly what i mention and what i practice with my armies. More manufacturers give more realistic look to ones army and as you said various sizes give variety as well, unless the difference is to big something I have not come across until now. Maybe Front rank are a bit bulkier than other ranges. Thank you for watching my friend!

  • That bishop from Northern Crusades Miniatures and a few others of theirs was also designs by Reconquer Designs. Studio Historia is just one of many vendors of different 3d printing brands

  • Useful comparison for mounted knights' minis, the Foundry are the older ones, and are more on 25mm scale than 28/30 as the others. Footsore's seems the better proportioned ones, furthermore , about the foot knights, there's Wargames Atlantic that has just started a plastic boxed set of M.Ages' foot knights (early 13th/14th century), with various heads and shields' options, you can see some early examples on their site.

  • Good comparison, as already said: Humans differ in height, so it can be the same on the tabletop.

  • Great way of explaining the differences. The logos underneath really helped. (Guy with the papal mitre on his helm was my favorite by the way.)

    • Thank you dear James! Yes I love the Bishop as well! For sure you need the logos to understand better and be aware from which manufacturer are the miniatures we are comparing. Thank you for watching my friend!

    • Thank you my friend glad you found the video helpful! Yes I also like videos like this one, very few Miniature Manufacturers comparisons out there to help one decide if a specific miniature range fits with their current collection. Thank you for watching my friend!

  • This was a good video. Its good to have this comparison. I started a WOR army in 2022. I am using Perry miniatures. Historia miniatures look like they fit in with the Perrys.

    • Totally agree with you Dear Rick! Videos like this are very helpful so one can decide if certain manufacturers fit their current armies or not. In my opinion on a table all would look ok even the Games Foundry and Footsore ones that are a bit on the smaller size ( I think they are the old 25mm while the rest are towards 28mm). Yes Historia and Perry are almost identical in size. Thank you for watching and commenting my friend!

  • Very helpful, thank you. I'd like to see another comparison with Footsore, Gripping Beast, and Claymore; I get the impression that GB's horses are very under-scale, from looking at photos. They seem out of proportion to their riders, to the point that I've determined not to buy any of their cavalry. I think many of the metal mini makers scale down the horses a bit because of the cost of the metal; the plastic horses all seem to be the bigger ones. Although that Reconquer horse looks like a modern riding horse, whereas the Perry one looks like a proper destrier.

    • Hey Michael thank you glad you enjoyed the video! I totally agree with all your points! I never had GB minis but Claymore and Perry are very similar in size. Horses are the big difference you are correct and what you mentioned Regarding the metal horses being smaller makes sense! I am planning to shot the second part of this video showcasing foot minis this will be interesting as well. Thank you for watching and commenting my friend!

  • I received my first Baron's War shipment today; measured some of the horses, and the knights' horses were 27-28mm at the withers (just where the reigns are sitting on most of the minis). At 25mm=5ft, this works out to an average height of 16.5 hands (1 hand = 4 inches), which is just right for a destrier. If my math is correct, which it's very likely not (27.5 / 5 x 12 / 4). Ignoring those emotionally attached to the latest fad theory that "medieval horses were actually quite small".

    • Ohhhhh you have done your math's here my friend!! great! Regardless though i hope you like them i think they look good and depict the era very well!

    • You know, watching the video a second time, it actually looks to me like the Footsore is quite a bit bigger than the Foundry one.

      @feanor3791@feanor379124 күн бұрын
    • @@feanor3791 Well i took them out here Infront of my again and the Footsore Horse is a bit taller but it has a bend in the saddle location if you get me.. and the foundry horse doesn't so the riders with the horses are same height.. but the riders separately are almost identical in size..
