Hey everybody! Thank you so much for watching this video on Liverpool and You'll Never Walk Alone. Football is a huge part of my life - probably just as big as music. I'm glad I finally got to talk about it. I really think this is one of my favorite videos that I've ever made. Even though I'm not even a Liverpool supporter, the song still means a lot to me. This perfect blend of music x football is just SO beautiful. Let me know if you liked the video in the comments below. Thanks.

American here. My college roommate was a huge Liverpool fan. Half of our dorm room was scarves and flags. We played FIFA a ton and he got me hooked on this team. Unfortunately, he committed suicide in March 2019 just before they won the Champions League. They played this song at his funeral. I hope one day I can go to Anfield and sing this song as loud as I can for the club and for him. Great video!
Must do it bro.
Sorry to hear that, doesn't matter where you're from if you support Liverpool you're family in my opinion #YNWA

Love ya bruv, YNWA.

If you’re not spanish im annoyed.
As an English guy who’s watched many Americans talk about football, the fact you pronounced ‘Derby’ and ‘Premier League’ correctly made me so happy.
Some of us aren't bad Most are Some aren't tho
I live in America and I cringe when I hear derby pronounced as “dirby” or when I hear “prameer league”
@@seanynwa6975 thankfully, im an american surrounded by crazy football fans/english people, sadly, im a chelsea man, and they are arsenal
The boy done well
I can’t help myself from pronouncing it the English way lmao, especially when the only time you hear the words “premier league” are from English accents😂
My soccer coach was a massive Liverpool fan. Last season he found out he had stage four pancreatic cancer. Our team adopted You’ll Never Walk Alone as a unifying song during his battle. He ended up dying soon after our state championship game.

I’ve been to Anfield twice in my life, once was a game against Man U in which Steven Gerrard scored from almost the halfway line, the second was during the comeback against Barca and both were the best experiences of my life as a Liverpool fan. You’ll never walk alone!
NOW THAT COMEBACK My friend is A True LIVERPOOL ICON
You are VERY lucky. Most random Anfield visitors get to go see crappy League Cup games or the like but you have been to 2 absolutely huge occasions.
The end of the song “fearless” by pink floyd is the liverpool crowd singing you’ll never walk alone. gives me chills every time. such an underrated song
That's cool. I've always wondered what that chanting was.
damn i’m a liverpool fan and i never even knew that! thanks man :)
Thanks for sharing this amazing fact.
Fun fact: pink floyd wasnt a fan of liverpool, but their producer was a HUGE fan, so they added this song to the end of "fearless" as a tribute.
i remember it took me completely by surprise on first hearing. it's my favorite pink floyd song now

Ok this was incredible. Thanks Every other weekend when I go to Anfield I feel lucky to be a part of YNWA. It never gets old to me. You did a great job of explaining the symbolism and power behind it.
Go Liverpool!
Right!
Never thought I’d see Alfo media talking about football but I love it
Also hate to be that guy but Hillsborough is pronounced "Hills-brah". Other than that you dealt with the subject matter very respectfully, in yet another entertaining video. Congrats again on 100k man.
Sorry about that. American-ness slipped out a lil bit. Thanks!
And the Champions League semi-final was not a best-of-two series. Unlike American sports, football (or s*****) plays a home and away setup for rounds of n, quarters and semis with an aggregate system. As a Liverpool fc fan, thank you for this. Your understanding of our love of this song is appreciated. It's almost as if Rogers and Hammerstein wrote the song for us specifically, as it sums everything up so succinctly. And I still can't listen to it without my eyes tearing up.

You'll Never Walk Alone. Is our Anthem at Liverpool FC. Those words belongs to the 97 who sadly died at Hillsborough. We are family and strangers stand side by side and sing loudly You'll Never Walk Alone. We are family. The players are family. We are never alone

I am a Liverpool fan from Indonesia since mid 1990s. So obviously I love the song. The lyrics sustained me not only when Liverpool in one of worst era (Gillet Hicks anybody?) but also my personal's worst. Professional and personal setbacks or problems, just singing the lyrics gave me a new energy and believe that shitty times will eventualy end if we walk on and keep on doing our best. The best feeling was singing it at Anfield. Goosebumps and cried being inside Anfield (SG may 2015 game). Personally, others that made me sob was the singing after Barcelona comeback (completely sobbing in front of my tv) and in Istanbul where I, along with a quarter of stadium singing after Liverpool lifted the SuperCup. Yes, this is more than a football song for many Liverpool fans. It is not only about the club, but also a tonic at times of personal struggles.
I dont even care about football, but this video and the message behind it made me ugly cry
Me a european: Hey i have seen this Americans: What do mean you have seen this? this is brand new
Mokies back to the future reference 😂
Here today following Gerry’s death. Football won’t quite be the same without him. I haven’t cried this much over someone dying in years. Even when Van Halen died last year, I wasn’t this bad. Gerry will forever live on as long as we keep singing his song. Rest In Peace Gerry, you were loved by millions and you will forever be remembered. Brilliant video, does brilliant justice to why YNWA is so culturally important
YNWA 🔴🔴🔴🔴
As a Liverpool fan and a alfo media fan, this was a surprise but a welcome one . Also brownie points for calling it football not soccer
As a season ticket holder at Anfield for 50 years I have personally experienced most of the games mentioned in this video. YNWA also still gives me goosebumps after all these years. Long may it continue. The greatest sports club, the greatest fans and the greatest sports song in the world. What a combination.
Great video! Another thing worth mentioning is that when we were 3-0 down in Istanbul, the travelling fans all sang YNWA at half-time. The players heard it in the dressing room and it surely gave them the lift they needed.
I was at the game in Istanbul. The following day we got off a coach on the bridge that crosses the Bosphorus to go for lunch. Hundreds of Turks stood on the bridge and applauded us into the restaurant, one shook my hand and said "Congratulations, fantastic support". That memory will live with me forever.
@@rhodestowndave8926That's a great little story 👍
As a lifelong Liverpool fan living a walk away from the stadium, I can say this is an excellent video, and very accurate
As a Liverpool fan, this was beautiful. Thank you 😊
Just to give you an example how passionate people are I literally cried when we won against Barcelona (pique still waiting for the corner) it was like the end of the banter era for me I am so attached in fact that the only time I have been to England on a trip I didn’t set foot in old Trafford but kissed the pitch for anfield
I've been a Liverpool fan since '75 and can honestly say, Anfield singing you'll never walk alone, still gives me goosebumps ❤
As a Liverpool fan get goosebumps just listening to ynwa, sure my dad even missed his train from London to Hillsborough the day of the 96, it all just means so to the club and the fans. YNWA
As a die-hard red I can attest to the power of You'll Never Walk Alone. Liverpool as a football club, is perhaps one of the most emotional football clubs in the world, and has such a rich sporting history. Your video was excellent and I think, as you pointed out, the song holds a lot of truth about how one must 'walk on' through the good times and even more importantly, the bad times in life. Football itself, as it plays out in the game, has so many parallels to real life. When people say, 'you see your soul a the poker table' I think in some ways, you can see how life plays out through football, game by game, season by season. There is something transcendent about the sport. There's a fantastic quote by Bill Shankly which really highlights this: "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that." Brilliant video - and I also urge anyone to watch the aftermath of the game against Barcelona at Anfield. One of THE most beautiful moments in football history. What a song, what a club. YNWA!
Got goosebumps... "this is anfield"
The famous “This is Anfield” sign was put there by Bill Shankly. He said, “it (the sign) is there to remind our players, where and who they’re playing for and most importantly to remind the opposition, where and who they’re playing against”
I think this and "corner taking quickly" are the most iconic things ever for Liverpool
As a huge Liverpool fan and a growing fan of your channel, this just MADE my day!
No need to see the clip elsewhere. It is burned into my heart forever. Thank you for appreciating it as well.
I've been going to Anfield since before The Pacemakers recorded this majestic anthem and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time i hear it played. I thank this Yank for this heartfelt video.

Lived in liverpool my whole life. Love this video and you captured what it means to sing you'll never walk alone as a liverpool fan. Brought tears to my eyes.
8:43 In this particular game, our Captain Steven Gerrard said he could hear the opposing team already celebrating (because they thought they’d won already) through the walls of the changing room. He then said that it was drowned out by the sound of the Liverpool fans still singing You’ll Never Walk Alone, despite watching their team losing heavily and getting beaten badly. He said it inspired the entire team to go out for the second half and do their best for the fans who were still supporting the team, despite losing badly.
YNWA gives me goosebumps everytime its magic
I’m a Liverpool fan (in the states) and I sing it before each game

From a hardcore Liverpool fan, I want to thank you for making this wonderful video. There are some pretty good anthems for various sports teams around the world, but YNWA for me is not only the best of them, but also the most perfectly suited for a club like LFC. You have very well explained the history and the info. of the same, and for that you deserve a round of applause my friend! The message reciprocated by the song is a very strong one, and also is a brilliant takeaway for people across the globe in the daily walks of life. So true mate , thanks for the clip you put together its heartwarming and so so accurate, best supporters of football
I cry every time i see that picture of the Liverpool shirt with the words "Never Ever Forget 96" on the back It realky shows how close the Liverpool family is. Even to the supportes who didn't know the victims, those words ring deep. It's part of our identity. The togetherness I'm not even British, i guess i have some Scottish blood in my veins, but i have never been to Scotland. I'm Norwegian, I live far away from Liverpool. But i still feel like im a part of the city. Like a part of me will always be from Liverpool. It's a special connection. I feel bad for all Man City supporters. They will never know this feeling of togetherness. That club is all fake.
Even though I loved the video and truly got goosebumps from Liverpool's fans, I think it's worth pointing out a lot of fans all over the world are really passionate about their teams, have really beautiful anthems (even if not in english), and have awesome atmospheres and histories. The way the video was made can be misleading in making someone think that Liverpool's fans are the only in the world that have a moment like this. (edit) have you ever seen South American fans?
Liverpool fans do only have moments like this other fans have moments but theres is usually with a different tone
It’s showing the most iconic and famous anthem in the sport. That’s fair in my opinion.
