Christie Sides has only been an assistant coach for 20 years (until last year) in a failed basement league. She has no clue what she has with Caitlin, and she does not have the acumen (coaching experience) to build a successful team around Caitlin. Numerous pro player legends ( who have been coached by the best basketball coaches in the world) like Steph Curry, Shaquille O’Neal, Isaiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Luka Dončić, and Trae Young all have said the Caitlin Clark is one of the best players to have ever played the game. Christie Sides ( 🤡😂 Coach😂🤡) last week said that Caitlin has a bad habit of hanging around and just dancing and not taking the correct shot. Some one needs to tell assistant coach Sides that Caitlin had broken every shooting record in NCAA history and that Caitlin had 1,140 assists in the NCCA. I’m not sure sure what planet Sides has come from, but I’m pretty sure she never watched Caitlin play in college. I’m also pretty sure that Sides is a low rate coach and is out of her league when it comes to being able to take advantage of Caitlin’s attributes. Caitlin is the only player in NCAA history(including men) to have scored a 40 point triple double in an NCAA. No other players including Larry Bird, Michael Jordon, or Shaq has done it (40 points). For Sides to tell Clark that during her college career that she just stood around and danced trying to figure out what shot to take, was very condescending and is proof that she is not a real high caliber leader or coach. Let’s hope this clown (Sides) does not ruin the momentum that Clark has brought to this welfare league. Get rid of Assistant Coach Sides and hire Lisa Bluder before you guys destroy a good thing.

This coach is very insulting. Does she think that clark doesn't know that she has capable teammates on her team? Im pretty sure Clark knows that already. It was very unprofessional for her to say that to the media. The coach could have said that to clark behind closed doors. She needs to be fired. That behavior was really uncalled for. You should be able to trust your coach knowing that someone would have your back and not throw you under the bus to the media. Poor judgment on her actions. She should be fired.

Sides should have NOT made any statements about Clark's playing style. Pulled Caitlin aside and point out things they can work on to make her even more effective on the court. Instead of calling her out in from of her fan base and the Fever organization staff and CEO. Sides was gifted a VERY RARE DIAMOND {see Aja Wilson, Sue Bird, Jackie Stiles, etc.} to turn a LOSING team into a beautiful JEWEL and she wants to throw it in the damn trash, WHAT THE F***K!!!! Sides NEEDS to work around Clark and fill in the play gaps!!!! Better to REMOVE Side from the coaching equation or the tension will grow with Caitlin and the rest of a very talent Fever team matrix.....

Caitlyn is a smart player. She will adjust her game to improve the fliud/cohesiveness of her team. She shoots from anywhere, she shouldn't have to be concerned with where. Sices should focus on getting other players alert on receiving Caitlyn's crisp passes.

Yesterday. 40% from downtown is more points per possession than 60% from inside the line, PLUS you gain a higher percentage of rebounds. I wonder if upper management and the ownership group of the Fever have addressed this issue with Coach Sides? This is just my opinion, but I'd guess that the management and owners of other WNBA teams have contacted the Fever to emphasize that they want to see the "real" Caitlin Clark when their teams play the Fever, not one playing under any restraints.

I don't think you want to win if you want a 30% 3 point shooter that keeps shooting with 11 turnovers over two games I would hope you would want the coach to coach her up. The excuse have always been her teammates are no good did you ever think if a teammate don't think they're going get the ball they're not going to play as hard. Clark is serving a dish that the basketball world wishes to partake, and the coach wants to change the recipe. That might make sense if the team and coach had the skill, depth and record to justify the gamble, let alone the fan base to risk a loss of disgruntled paying newbies to the sport? I haven't followed the NBA since Michael Jordan retired. I video taped Bulls Games in the 90's while I was at Work, but I never followed the WNBA. To be fair, the WNBA was only around a couple years when Jordan retired, so it really wasn't that visible on Sports News channels. I think it started in 1996. I have had some interest in Women's Basketball, or more acurately I have had interest in Caitlin Clark since Her College Playoffs.

I'm not defending the coach. I haven't been impressed with her, but there might be a certain amount of advantage in Clark taking open shots when presented, whether threes or not. Bird was successful at that. She is really good at driving in and scoring, when the opportunity is presented, and needs no adjustment there. That said, I don't remember any other coach ever telling the media of his or her perceived weaknesses of an individual player, especially a blue chip rookie. That's just not good, or wise.
