only toby fox could achieve making a franchise so relevant again. Even after all the memes, the "cringe status" that it dove into after several years of overexposure. He just went on and did it, somehow, and it was great. I am confident, that even if eventually the same happens to each chapter of deltarune, that with the release of a new chapter the hype for the whole franchise will resurface. What incredible power

One day, I want to see Kris and Susie take Noelle to Castle Town. To tell her it wasn't a dream, and all the wonderful people she met were real, (and that Susie does indeed have a tail.)

My underrated opinion is this is probably my FAVORITE track Toby made... it, to me, feels like something nostalgic, like an old Christmas with your family that you cherish or even feels like a calm distant future of peace. It's amazing

Woke up at 3am to go to the airport to go on vacation during easter break. During the ride to the airport, I fell asleep in the car listening to this. Even if it was only 4 hours ago by now, I wanna relive that experience so bad. 😢

I love how it is explicitly stated that this is our town now, not kris', with this song also showing that. This is despite seemingly susie, kris, ralsei, and maybe lancer being the ones responsible for saving it. It's the only time our name is mentioned. So I wonder... Who told them?

This song really captures the loneliness and hope Ralsei must have felt waiting without any subjects for the heros to arrive, Not knowing what was going to happen.

After a night of heavy drinkin and celebrating someone’s birthday. All of my extended family left that same night, I wake up to just trying to get over a mild hangover and the house empty once again, I head to work at the restaurant. the sun is already setting on my drive, seems like everyone there had the same idea, all of their relatives/friends went off back home from thanksgiving now it’s just a few people here and there chilling for the Sunday night. The atmosphere was super mellow, didn’t really speak to any of my coworkers than I typically do, clocked out to 30 degree weather, already seems like the whole town is already asleep when it’s 10:30pm. Downtown’s very well decorated in preparation for Christmas yet not a person in sight, just myself alone driving back home. I played this song on repeat and it genuinely fit my vibe for tonight - We really do need music in our lives if we cannot convey how we feel through our thoughts or in text, at least in can be done for us eloquently through music. Felt nice. I’m not ready for the 6 month winter but this song warms me up and life feels good.

Calling it now, Next time we head to castle town there's gonna be a slight technological melody in there. We're building up more and more music as the chapters progress much like with Undertales Title music. Edit 9/15/22: Called it!

Imagine you've just moved away, and nothing feels familiar anymore. Your room is clean, and everything is unpacked and ready. You open your curtains to let the sunlight in, you lie in your bed, and you think to yourself: "this isn't home yet, but being here somehow feels right". That's what this song makes me feel.

Fan fact: The name my castle town has more meaning than you might think on the surface. Remember what Ralsei said he named the town. He said it was named after us, but it’s not Kris’s, it’s the name we put in the beginning. Because it literally MY castle town, and yours everyone’s else playing the game

Deltarune is peak

If you listen closely, you can hear the noise of piano keys being pressed. No, I don't mean the melody, I mean the sound of the keys being pressed down. Yes, actually. Listen closely through the section 0:20 - 0:42, though faint, you can hear the sound of the keys moving with small, soft hisses, which are even echoed with the piano. Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like the piano is a direct performance, while the rest of the instruments are synthesized. This isn't just anyone's emotions you feel here. That's Toby.

Something that I havent actually seen anyone point out is that this song actually utilises the leitmotif of the criminally underrated Chaos King theme. Its used throughout nearly the entire song but most clearly resembling it during the part at 1:00

I feel like most fans came back to this song specifically, and had an unusual attraction to it

This feels like something I’d hear in a studio gibli movie. Peaceful, happy, innocent, and In a way, kinda nostalgic. I love it. Which is why I fall asleep to it a lot. Because it feels like… home. Also. I can tell that this song was played on an actual piano, and not a digital one. Because I can hear the keys hitting and grinding against the wood. I’ve played enough piano to remember that sound clearly. It kinda adds to the song in a beautiful sort of way. It’s more… heartfelt and genuine.

still love the fact that Toby showed us a bit of this track in the Undertale Anniversary Concert last year without us even knowing

This sounds seamless, which is odd considering that Seam's Seap is right there in the Castle Town

Truly a song of melancholy and hits me where it hurts since ive never had a home

This is one of a few songs that tells you how much emotion and thought Toby fox put into creating undertale and deltarune.

man, i miss those chilly autum nights where my mom would take me with her to weekend events that lasted until the evening, and listening to My Castle Town on the drive back. It’s been almost a year since deltarune chapter 2 came out but I felt so happy in that era… 🍂😵‍💫

this music makes me feel bittersweet for some reason. In game when I entered my castle town I had this thought and feeling immediately. It makes me think of some of my friends whom I don't talk with anymore due to some things they did, and also some other friends whom I don't talk with because of my mistakes... All have one in common: my childhood friends. For a brief moment I go back to those moments where we used to play with toys and create those wonderful imaginary worlds that didn't exist with my bff at that time. It really felt so realistic back then,just like how you end up in the classroom at the end of chapter 1. The times we used to study together with my crush

Honestly my favorite song from the game

People probably already know this, but since the name of the town is based off you, the Player's name (Talk to the guy in the bottom left if you don't believe me) your actions reflect how your town will be. Use Malice, your town will be empty as a grave on a snowy night, only filled with those your wrath didn't notice. Use Mercy, and though you might not be filled with power, you will be filled with knowing that you can save everyone from the Dark.

This song makes my heart hurt

cyber world, every iteration of Spamton (dialtone is my favorite) and this soundtrack are easily my favorites. This chapter has so many bangers in it.

I loved the piano piece Toby did at the 5th Anniversary thing so much that when I heard this in-game I couldn’t breathe

YALL!!!! So I put ‘RALSEI’ as my name in Starbucks and the barista yelled ‘SOMEONE WITH TASTE?!?’ And I said ‘YESS! THATS ME!’ And then everyone around me started to sing ‘MY CASTLE TOWN". Omfg im crying 😭😭

idek anything about what game this is associated to, but all I can say is this audio is VERY calming.

I think we're going to continue to see repression/repressed memories as a major theme in Undertale, and this song is a prime example of how that's being illustrated. The piano starts out all by itself, and it's very muffled. But as the song goes on and more instruments are added in, the sound gets crisper, more close and real. I think it's meant to show that Kris has been keeping things hidden inside for a long time, but that those feelings are coming to light now; even more so that they are making new friends. The more instruments are added to the song, the clearer the piano sounds. The more friends Kris makes, the more they are able to confront their feelings - as well as a past we don't yet know. It's certainly no coincidence that Kris is implied to know how to play the piano well but is choosing only to slam on the keys.

This feels like you're finally home after a long adventure. I love it.

Day 1, Sept 30th 2022 Decided to start a random online diary (maybe I'll be famous!). I had a lot of fun in my welding class, 2/3 of the class was absent so I got to work by myself. Also, I got to help out the speech and debate club. The schoolastic club seems fun, so I might join them. There's a lot of clubs I want to join. I wish I had more time so I could do all that I want to do in highschool.

I’m playing this on Christmas Day

Kris is quite heavily implied to be functioning as a player avatar; in any case the game definitely intends the player to project their own emotions onto (or perhaps, through) the PC. That, combined with the circumstances surrounding Lancer later on (spoilers!), along with dreaming being an important theme, is giving me serious Link's Awakening vibes, and if Kris turns out to actually be autonomous, being controlled unwillingly by the player... well, if I'm right, we're all headed straight into a no-win situation here and Deltarune is going to end up being one hell of an emotional roller coaster by the time it's finished.

Congratulations Toby, you made me feel happy once again.

That was the first song that catched my ears out of what I hear from the game.( the other is "Queen") It makes me feel safe, and it's sounds somehow familiar...( And not beacuse it's has the legend's theme in-)

Day 271, 1 July 2023 (Sat) Played some more Minecraft today. Unfortunately, I fell into some lava and died yesterday so I spent most of my time trying to figure out the best way to maximize XP gain so I can replace all the enchantments I had on my gear. Also, I watched all of season thee of Dr. Stone. It's pretty good and is one of my favorite animes so far! After that, I went to a buffet with some of my cousins to celebrate a birthday!

You can distinctively hear how he hits the piano notes (if you ever played on a keyboard or a piano there is this thunk sound that the notes make, if it is an electric one then is even more notorious when is turned off) is a really weird but soothing sound, also because this isnt present in any other song, so is like he recorded himself in fully playing and didnt use an actual music software for it

I don't know if it's because I played so much piano as a kid, but hearing the clicks of the keyboard and lifting of the pedal is actually pretty soothing.

Day 4, Oct 3rd 2022 Welding class was fun today. I'm doing F-2 welds with 7018. They start out good but end a little flat. In Debate, my assistant coach was a guest speaker during class. It's super fun because he is actually a super big deal in the competitive debate scene (I think he is ranked in the top 20 point wise). My piano finally was fixed, and I'm thinking I might want to be a piano technician. It broke after I hit a key too hard in an attempt to make fun of my younger brother for playing the flute poorly (unfortunately, it seems he had the last laugh as I broke my piano). My family did a reunion at a restaurant in celebration of one of my cousins last soccer games, and it was super fun seeing everyone.

I'm not a musician, but I am curious how he gets the piano to sound so warm. It almost sounds lo-fi.

The emotion this gives me is.. A lot?? It's nastolgic yet new, sad yet happy, calm yet emotional, as if you know something is coming. It just gives me this heavy feeling in my chest that idek what to do with and not a lot of songs can do that to me. Almost reminds me of the Neon Genesis opening?? Cudos Toby Fox, your music pulls on my heart strings once again

Day 2, Oct 1st 2022 Played a bit of Destiny 2 today, first with my younger 9 year old cousin, and then with my older brother. Pit of Heresy had been power-creeped out of existence. After that, I watch the new episode of Spy x Family with my family. I played some Slime Rancher 2 and mowed my elderly neighbor's lawn. After that, my extended family was having a big movie night outside with a projector. We watched Hocus Pocus 2, and it was a lot of fun eating dinner, talking to cousins, and watching a new Halloween movie.

The very name of this track is theory fodder "MY castle town" the name implies that the reader owns the town, which is related to what one of the ruddins says in game when you go talk to him in town. He says something along the lines of "ralsei had us change the name of the town to "[BLANK] town"" with the blank being replaced with whatever you named yourself at the start of the game

This song really helped finished my 7 month delayed work in only two replays of this song. (2 hours) Magical, wow.

Somehow, Undertale and Deltarune 1&2 is the only RPG games that I have finished playing. And i have this feeling where when I finished undertale and deltarune, I kinda feel irritable like I wanna cry out loud with a nostalgic memories I have been through and made with the game. It feels so relaxing to hear this music ones again after finishing deltarune 2 with pacifist route. I wanna cry but I cant, some people might brag that it is only a game, but Im DETERMINDED to enjoy Toby Fox games ones again...

Day 5, Oct 4th 2022 I helped with building a grinding table in welding class. It was pretty great because my group actually did get some work done. That's about it

Day 7, Oct 6 2022 I'm on vacation. I don't have school until next Monday, so my family is going on a vacation in a nearby city. We rented a house for a couple days because it's cheaper and nicer than renting a couple hotel rooms. We went to a fun Indian restaurant with my aunt and uncle, and then after that we went to their house. My younger brother is growing more curious about coffee (gross) and my aunt made some Spanish coffee for us because she's from Spain. It's super thick and super good. I don't know if there was actually any coffee in it because it was getting pretty late, so it might have been just chocolate.

No doubt people have already said this, but it would be really cool if this song develops more and more as the town gradually fills up as the chapters go by!

When I heard this at the start of chapter 2, I immediately felt emotional. I was like "you can't make me cry this early into the game Toby!!!!". Such a pretty song :')

This song sounds like that in-between time when spring is just turning to summer. Everything is beautiful and vibrant but the weather isn't quite hot yet. The air feels delicate and soft and the smell of flowers is still lingering in the air. Above are beautiful white clouds that look like they're out of a painting and a baby blue sky you could get lost in for hours. Beauty swirls around you and you feel completely at peace, even if just for a little while.

Day 8, Oct 7 2022 Today was super fun. I watched one punch man with my family, and after that my dad took me shopping to some stores around the city. My favorite was an accordion shop. Apparently, accordions are mega expensive, with cheap ones being around $700. I played around on it a little. It is definitely not a super fancy one as it couldn't play a couple of notes, but it was super fun anyways. I think I'll stick with using my dentist's accordion. My dad brought me some beginner accordion books because he actually super likes the accordion. We went to a Japanese store (my dad went on a mission there and had tons of stories about it) and I brought some marble soda. We went to the house we're renting and watched TV with the rest of the family. We all went out to get ice cream later. This is a pretty great vacation so far.

I often just paused my game in Castle town and go AFK just to hear this song. A very relaxing and calming tone

This song is so calming. I remember hearing it in the Undertale concert. I would listen to the piano version of this song whenever I got stressed and it got me through a lot of hard times. I was so happy to hear it in deltarune

I never thought that Toby could create a song so relaxing and so soothing that I often end up falling asleep to it, yet here we are.

When you think about it, Kris just was a normal boy that was possessed by a player and has to go through all these adventures and do horrible things against his own will, yet, we made him get friends, we made a world where he is the hero... Probably Kris just wants to live in the dark world now, and it's trying to take it to his world at the end of chapter 2 so he can have the best parts of both. Kris is a strange child, but he would never hurt anyone close to him, WE are the one making him hurt other (if we attack everyone, obviously), yet without us, he wouldn't have find the dark world, nor have a friendship with Susie.

Due to the town being named after what you put in as your name, I wonder if "Your Creation" will also come to life somehow

Day 11, Oct 10 2022 I continued to help make a grinding table in wielding class. It's surprisingly how slow progress is going, but that means there hopefully won't be any major mistakes to fix later. As they say in some industries, slow is fast. The cooking class is going to be setting a some sort of student run restaurant. I wish I could be in that class, but it's a 3 period class and I've already joined the welding class. I practiced accordion today. I'm interested in how it still feels special to practice it. I practice piano partially out of habit, so it's lots of fun to focus on a new instrument. After accordion, I'm not sure what other instruments to learn. I want to learn another instrument I can play solo, but I'm running out of ideas. Good thing I'll still have lot of time before needing to decide a new instrument.

This song feels like the feeling of letting something finally go. I don't know why. Maybe this'll play when the final chapter comes out and Kris finally gets to control themselves freely again.

Man, i really needed this after [SUPER DUPER SECRET BOSS]. I think i'm not the only one creeped out just by the boss itself, but mostly its ambiance. Also directly after the battle, how that plays out??? Just... Eeehhugh~ I saw some people saying that ralsei telling kris to forget all that and just think of something nicer after saying "no, i'm not good" was him manipulating kris to not do further superbosses related to [SEMI-SPOILER SUBJECT], but i actually kinda needed him to just say "It's allright, just forget about it, move on and think about nice stuff." Since i was mayorly creeped out due to it. Anyways to fully get that out of my mind, i'll think about the Queen's lines as spoken by Walter white (mostly bad impressions from those memes you see). "Jessie, Jessie You Need To Get The Bananna Jessie."

I often listen to this on the bus ride to University. Most of my classes are in the morning when the sun is still rising, and the feeling this one gives is almost… Idk, euphoric? Like I’m nearing the end of some kind of journey It’s very soothing to the anxiety, especially when I know it’ll be a long day

Day 123, 11 Feb 2023 I made takoyaki with my dad. I need to work a little on my technique so I can roll/flip them better. I also made vinegar toffee too. I made two batches. The first bad was a little overcooked, so it ended up being way to hard and cracking. I made a 2nd batch because it literally took 5 minutes to make and barely used any ingredients. I didn't overcook that batch, so it worked all right. My mom bought tickets for the local orchestra's concert today. It was a "live documentary". It was like a normal nature documentary, but there was no commentary explaining anything and the music was performed live. It wasn't my favorite as I like the commentary and don't like sitting in a chair next to poeple I don't know for 3 hours. The music was good though!

This gives me such a distinct feeling of "man does it feel good to be back"

How did I listen to this for the full hour without noticing? It felt like 15 minutes at most, and the song never got old. Guess that's a testament to the composition.

Day 11 - 15, November 22 to 26. I missed four days. Wow. It's 11:23P.M and I am tired, can't remember the past days. Celebrated my mother's birthday today. Me and my family went out to go eat at a restaurant. Spent time in the arcade with my brother playing fps games. Today was a really fun day:)
