It's so delicious! I make this for dinner 3 times a week! Super easy fish recipe
Ingredients and recipe:
320g haddock fillets
Dry the fillets using paper towel
Salt
Black pepper
Flip over
Salt
Black pepper
Set aside for 15 minutes
Sift 50g All purpose flour
Salt
Black pepper
Paprika
1/2tsp baking powder
Mix well
70 ml water
Mix well
1/2tsp olive oil or a different vegetable oil
After 15 minutes
Sift flour on top of the fish
Flip over
Sift flour on the other side of the fish
Cut the fillets into smaller portions
Add vegetable oil to a pan
Coat the fish with the batter
Place into the hot oil
Repeat
Fry for 5 minutes on medium-low heat or until golden brown
Flip over
Fry for 3-5 minutes
Done!

    • @@saulchapnick1566 fresh or frozen it’s delicious… give it a try 🤗 … when I try new recipes, I make a single portion just in case I don’t like it, if it’s good then I make more, for me this is really good 😋 🤤 try it as a single portion, that way if you don’t like it, your investment will be a minimal loss, and if you like it, you’ve got a new wonderful recipe.

  • I love fried haddock. Very good batter, but for me black pepper is too strong for delicate flavoured fish. I use white pepper, but more sparingly.

    • @@chrispavlich9656 Yeah, thought it was vinegar that gets to accompany it. Can also use vinegar in the batter (helps with baking soda creating bubbles and some breakdown of gluten to get crispy and not chewy).

  • I learned this from a restaurant, they ground up "salt and vinegar chips" really fine and used that as a coating, it flavored the fish beautifully, and gave a crunchy texture. :)

  • That will be my dinner tonight, goes well with fries and beer. Yes, deep frying is not good for our health but I don't think it will hurt if you eat it once in a while and the salt, well, you can adjust it to your own desired taste. Enjoy!!! 😘

  • Would substituting a TBLSP of Cornstarch (cornflour) for a small amount of the flour make the finished batter lighter?
