Welcome to another episode of this twitch/youtube series. Today we take a look at Incas, one of the 3 meso american civs in the game. In my opinion, Incas are a bit of like a jack of all traits civ, with a couple unique options throughout the game. No crazy eco bonus, but just enough to get them through the early game and into their flexible mid-lat game. They also don't have any crazy late game power unit, but rather a bunch of good combinations of units, that are also quite cheap. Hope you guys enjoy!

Celts would be interesting. They seem to be a very solid civ for many situations but I never really manage to play them properly.
Celts can be quite tough cause of their transitions, but they are totally awesome :D

I would really like to see the Lithuanians next week! The last update made them stronger I think and they now have the Leitis as a viable option in castle/imperial age. It would be interesting to hear your opinion about that unit compared to paladins.

Nili looked so strong here, a couple missed splits of hera and this game could be very close.
for the love of god buff their team bonus to 200% and make it somewhat noticable and not complete garbage or just make their farms build instantly instead of 200% it wouldnt be a big deal and it would be still worse than many team bonuses

teutons, since the buffs and no one plays them much overall would be interesting to see how much they changed and i half want to main them as my civ cuz they are aint used
29 Teutonic Knights, 21 Hand Canoneers, 10 monks - square formation, stand ground(Healing Fortress) htky 1 + 20 teutonic knights htky 2 + 20-30 palladins htky 3 + 9 bombard cannons htky 4, adding in siege onagers, and other units as needed- I like filling a castle with 4 keeps strategically against it filled to the brim with hand canoneers(60) Here's a guide to it I'm making steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2086604354
No siege engineer and elite cannon galleon limits the range of your response to treb/bombard. You have nothing fast to rush out and take down enemy siege

This was one of the smoothest, satisfying 1v1's I ever watched and I don't normally watch 1v1 games. Nili played really well, but sort of underestimated your micro with xbows, his mangonel did little damage. Maybe if he went for full skirmishers...

Honestly super cool video i was in fear you would play noboru rush but i think its pretty nice to see you can also play incas with a standard opening and i believe its better for newer players to learn playing standard first. For one of the next videos i would love to see Goth as i think they have one of the best dark ages in the game (with the free loom and cheap militia) but also maybe the most uncomfortable transitions in castle. Would be really nice eventhough they might not be top tier
Incas is, probably, one of the 5 best defenses civs in the game. My favorite civ. Thank you for this video, gonna think more about what should I do when use them.

Liked and subscribed because nili told me to. Also this is a cool series, my vote for next civ is Malians.
I like Incas on nomad. Nomad games often turn into messy tower fights when the players end up right next to each other. Also the house bonus makes it much easier to get the second and third fishing boat out without dock idle time. That can lead to 1-2 minute faster feudal.
It would also be cool to get a short update of your civ tierlist given the balance changes and new maps. I know most civs haven't really changed, so you could just pick out the few (if any) you think have moved since the last one.
Lithuanians would be great. I am hype for them after i saw this crazy drush from you!
How to play Incas? Monk rush with redemption, then convert enemy stable. Mass xolotol warriors and u win!

I'd love to see a video on how to play some of the worse civs, like Goths or Turks for example (as much as I love both of them they're really situational most of the time). Love to see a pro's approach and how to play into their strengths better without getting overrun early.
Great video! I love civilizations with eagle warriors. Personally I would have liked to have added to medieval Native American civilizations such as the "Chimor" (naval whit heavy infantry) and "Chachapoyas (Amazon civilization of archers and blowgun warriors) . Anyway, I like the balance of the civilizations currently existing in the AoE2 DE.
Lithuanians, Please! I think they are a very flexible civ with interesting strategies: relic hunt, early drush and"hoang style" (because their monasteries work faster). Their tech tree is pretty open, so it's very easy to get lost in options. Would be great to hear your ideas about the civ :D

I'm playing around the 700 and 800 range and have found my favorite civ to be the Incas. The eco bonuses are nice, but I'm always able to mass up enough Kamayuks then later elite Kamayuks with the blacksmith upgrades and run around the map doing almost whatever. I typically pair them with scorpions or ranged units like slingers or elite skirms and later trebs. They aren't mobile, but a couple decent sized armies running around can catch up to cavalry. Is this just a lower elo thing, or are they really that good? I can see some units or diversion tactics exploiting their need to 'ball up'...but I haven't come across that (yet). I'm about a 50/50 player thanks mostly to my last 10ish games with Incas.
I know you asked for civ suggestions, but if you ever get to do other stuff i'd love to know which civs/strats you use to end ARENA/black forest match ups fast. It seems that it's become a common thing to add boom maps to the map rotation, which is ok, but after getting queued a million times into arena i end up geting bored. In Arena I usually end up going khmer elephant rush or FAST castle + castle drop with certain civs, and in Black forest it's usually either just boom or if i get lucky drop a sneaky vill to build behind them, heck, after a dumb mistake of walling the enemy pocket i ended up improvising an archer flush on my enemy flank so i wouldn't stay behind and got the GG in early castle, that was fun, but lucky. Any other strats that can open a new array of fun are welcome.

I just wanna drop here, that the Lama has more vision range than a sheep and it makes more sense to scout with it, if you find your sheep right at the start. :)
Could you do a video on stances, group control and amount of production buildings? There is quite a good amount of build orders that cover dark and feudal age, but castle and imp are more a « do your own thing ». I tend to struggle to keep my cavalry/eagles in front of my xbows as they a) either run inside enemy TC fire chasing enemies on defensive stance b) don’t attack anything if on stand ground patrol. Any tips would be appreciate towards late game.
Gotta do Byzantines. An overlooked, weird Civ that can get something done. If you win with Byz vs anyone you look legit. How to play Byzantines pro grade!

Hi Hera, could you do another one for nerfed Incas? I'm very disappointed they nerfed the vil rush in Feudal. I feel reluctant to abandon my hope in this civ tho. So I'm just seeking out for some redemption here.. PS. Thanks so much for your beginners to 2k guide. I benefited a lot climbing from 11+ to 14+

I watched this now to the end... man come on its not about INKAS or Slingers :D LETS be honest ! YOUR amazing ON POINT micro won here this game! seriously you killed about 5-6 manginals and smashed his whole army of crossbows :D while he killed what 10-20 crossbows hahah the whole game :D No chance here against this BRILLIANT micro! NILI played this very well though! but what can you do when your opponent micros like Flash Gordon ^^ sick splits!!
15% off a 125 stone tower would make it cost 106.25 stone. I haven't confirmed these numbers in game, but It looks like you'll be missing 6 stone for a second town center in castle age. It's easy enough to send one villager out to collect the stone in one trip without building a mining camp. EDIT: Chris points out they only need 85 stone for a town center. So they are good to go! You should probably review the best civ in the game next: Malians. Gbetto Hype!
U will not be missing stone because the town center will cost 100 minus 15% so it"s good
They don't need 100 stone for a tc. They need 85.
Why do you build two houses immediately as Incas, when just one would give 10 pop space? The second one could be placed for protection by a lumber camp or something if you delay putting it up.

i think goth would be nice i now that in lategame you just spam huskarls but how do you get there and what are alternatives or what about byzantines with their cheaper trashspam and a defensive civ is it different to play then other civs?

you don't always spam huskarl in late-game with goth. in fact doing so might be an economic suicide vs a good player with a decent civ vs goth. Remember goths get decent hussars and cavaliers (miss last armor but nobody's gonna spam archers vs goths anyways so they do the job), hand canonneers (highly required vs civs with strong champs/inf that counter your cheaper but weaker inf.), or heavy scorps/onagers, with bombard cannons. Now goth infantry flood with scorps and bombard cannons is an army made out of nightmare.(but gold hungry). Goth are excellent to do drush/m@a (duh), otherwise play like a generic civ, they are adequate for any rush, but don't invest too heavily into crossbows. Their knights are generic but a solid option for castle age before you get a castle up.

kamayuks in mass will win vs both cav and infantry. So yes 30-40 kamayuks should beat 30-40 champions

If Incas Didn't have the Slinger, what would be a good plan B if Aztecs transition into Eagles?
The only real problem with Incas is their crud team bonus; it's practically non-existent, it should have been some other kind of small eco or combat bonus. Yes, it's technically an eco bonus as is, but it's _extremely_ negligible, it even has the Saracen bonus laughing.
burmese, khmer and malay are civs that the people are strugling on 1v1 matches. If could u show us how to do it, would be very nice!
