Take a piece you previously worked on or someone else worked on that quit and renew it into a new piece!
I started a jewelry armoire months ago! Just had moulds on it and became overwhelmed with my idea since all I could find was small leaves'. Iod came out with a new mould "Viridis" and that was all I needed to give me the inspiration to pick it back up and finish.
This armoire has had a series of magnolia flowers and leaves; using resin, and then Das clay in moulds to create a flowing design up the side to the top. They were dry brushed to add color. Made by Marley Magic Decoupage Paper, in the patter, "Hummingbird" was added inside and down the front of the drawers. Piece was painted to match the green in the paper, with a final touch of gilding wax put on the flowers and leaves! This is a maximalist piece all the way!!

I need art therapy for my mind, been taking care of my mother in law for almost 3 years, she has dementia and is a hospice patient. I loose myself in the projects I do!! Regards, dar

  • Such a lesson in patience! I’m inspired I have not worked with colored waxes, but your demonstration of the depth it adds make me want to😉 Really lovely so glad you tried it again. Thanks for taking part in this challenge😊

    @AskingSpot@AskingSpot15 күн бұрын
    • Thanks Margie, I love using waxes. You just have to remember that gilding is usually petroleum based so needs to go on last. Although you can still top coat it if it has cured for a week or so. I did work on it over a month, but I have to take care of my mother in law first before my play time.!

That armoire was over 25 years old, but it was mine, so it was in really good shape, mdf though. I gifted it to my niece who has always wanted a armoire, she has alot of jewelry, including pieces I made for her. She is excited to get it!!!
