  • I watched this stage and was amazed with the communication in the Bora Team.........Lipowitz was the strongest rider today.....he could have taken it all if Vlasov was a better teammate....I guess that being a Team doesn't mean much at Bora since this isn't the first time that situations like this happen....

    @pauljansen1137@pauljansen113717 күн бұрын
    • You could also say that Vlasov was team lead with 3d in GC and Lipowitz 22 seconds back, Lipowitz could have worked together with Vlasov and they may be in yellow right now. Who's to say what's right....I guess Bora team leadership

As Zero was from Mc nulty. Ok, won Itt, but dropped in last climb today from a group of 40. Also him help to Ayuso was Zero. Adam Yates help to Ayuso = Zero too.....

  • Lipowitz may be a knucklehead, not thinking about his race leader, who seemed to be in trouble anyway. On the other hand, young riders sometimes have to put themselves on the map one time or another. Otherwise they may relegate themselves to help others for years on end. Now everybody knows what Lipowitz may be capable of.

You did not mention how INEOS could win the tour but, Egan and Carlitos did so well. They proved that with great tactics, comes great responsibility. Spider Pog needs to learn this lesson from Uncle Ben too just like humble Carlos did. My thoughts and prayers to Carlos Uncle Ben who died unjustly by a mugger. When Pogacar did his Spider Man victory pose, I was so offended... What will Uncle Ben think of this act of immodesty...

The gap was never more than 1:30 or so, even from 65K, so I guess they were, it just didn't look like much of a chase at first. Lipowitz... yeah, I agree on those mistakes, although it is easier to see some of those after the fact, I guess. But the distance to the finish when all of Lipowitz mistakes were made could make it hard for DS especially if he didn’t see it directly or on the car TV. Possibly he doesn’t know exactly how hard Vlasov was going or possibly didn’t see that Lipowitz was the one riding the front or attacking. We can surely blame Lipowitz though and Vlasov is old enough to get on the radio and tell Lipowitz to stop. Of course maybe Vlasov was over his limits and could not see from the blood in his eyes and pain in his legs. 👀 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️🦋👊

    • Ineos needed/wanted to ride on the front to make sure the time bonuses were a possibility and that the race was really hard. Ok, maybe UAE were already thinking that they wanted the race as hard as possible and that’s why they were going so hard when the cameras can on and if so you are exactly right if Ineos got on the front when UAE were already riding a 100%. In that case Ineos are a big knucklehead. 🤔🤪🦋👊

    • My thought initially as well, why were they doing the work for UAE. But on the other hand, would UAE have kept it together if Ineos didn’t show their force? Their pace did eject a few UAE key helpers and made Yates almost useless. Also, Hayter and Castroviejo are going to get dropped on the climb anyway, might as well get them to do some work. I guess ultimately it is about your opponent. Doing this against Pog, Jonas or even an in form Romeco would be an absolutely knucklehead move. Even if they are isolated, they could still fry you over with a devastating long range attack. With Ayuso, the move did crack him and bring Ineos the GC win.

  • UAE is racing under the Pogacar effect. They are all incredibly talented, world class athletes but so completely outclassed by Pogacar that they routinely ride for their own agendas, stage wins or other professional accolades... Or, they ride too hard or without any semblance of strategy because in their training sessions, they can go 100%, 100% of the time, and Pogacar will still be able to go 25% faster... So they either try to show that they are in the same zip code as the maestro and build their palmares or overestimate their pace is and blow their own doors off... Also it's clear that as talented as they are, they are ALL understudies, and none of their results really matter to UAE... I mean when you have a teammate who can reliably win a GT, 1-3 monuments, 1-3 week long SRs and any other races he targets any wins you get is nothing more than gravy as long as Tadej is conscious and fit enough to pedal... It's sad to see them fight among each other as opposed to working smoothly together like the old SKY team of galacticos... But it does make for unpredictable racing!

  • Uad more knucklehead than not. Don't want to see aruyso on tdf v/c they race like they have tp in tow. They did the same in 2022 tdy

    • 2022 TdF on stage 11 the tactics were ridiculously bad. And it cost them the TdF. They had help with sickness before that stage and afterwards but wow did the tactics get ugly. Yikes. 😬 🦋🤪

    • Forgot about the illness. But you neve rally know how uae is going to ride in any given stage . Just shows that everyone below tp at uae aren't yet ready for prime time (most of the time) when given opportunities in the 5 to 6 day stage races.

  • Please stop using the word bonification!!! It's not smart and not clever, it's not even a real word, just like the word bonus for together with clarification and had a love child!!! Other than that great analysis. I say down to watch this on catch-up here in the UK to hear them talk about having been over 3 climbs (which is what I wanted to see) but at least your the last 40-60km. I felt cheated at that, but to only get the last 15km?!!! As for the racing, what was Carlos Rodriguez doing dragging all the GC contenders back to the front after Bernal put in that attack?!!! Thought he got off lightly from your analysis. It's great seeing Bernal finally getting back to a certain level, even if he's really just supporting here.

    • Actually Rodriguez bridging was the smart move once he saw what happened with Ayuso. He gapped Ayuso when he jumped over and forced Ayuso to chase. Bernal needs over a minute to get past Ayuso. He’s not strong enough to get that kind of gap. Chris actually thought UAE shouldn’t chase him immediately. If Rodriguez didn’t jump, UAE might as well ride temp to the finish and keep the jersey. So Ineos promptly changed approach and decided to use Bernal to pull Rodriguez and breaking UAE in the process.

  • What are your thoughts on Team UAE this year? Their climbers are blowing up the climbs. They're losing races wherein they should have won. In paper they are always the strongest, yet they always lose the jersey. Yes, they've won most of the TT stages but always losing in the mountains without Pogi. Ayuso was released to be the next Pogacar after a press release that Ayuso was the only one who was able to stay with Pogi on the climbs. Yet he does not show that he is. The only time he showed his climbing prowess was Stage 5 of Tour De Suisse last year where he won the stage. But nothing after that. Ayuso overrated? @ChrisHornerCycling
