  • The best part of this show is that Clarksson has actually made all the problems/hardship farmers has to go through way more public then it was before. Hopefully politicians can wake up and listen and act soon.

    • My father, who was not a farmer, bought a small plot of land when I was 13. We fenced part of it and got some water in. The day came for our first 10 cows. They were released and followed the fence to the stream. They went through the stream and through six strands of barbed wire. The cows were on our property less than two minutes. That's how we met our "neighbors". Hi, have you seen our cows? 14 days later we had all of them back. The stories just continued from there. Cheers internet person.

  • I’ve loved watching Jeremy, Richard and James from the very early days, even before Richard and James joined the show, you could see that Jeremy has a love of cars BUT of everything I’ve seen him do, I love the ww2 medal documentaries and Clarksons farm is even better than that, ive worked on farms from a young age and I will always defend the farmer and the incredible work they do, many as Jeremy showed at the end of the first season, not making much if any profit at the end of the year and still they continue to do it year in year out, generation after generation growing the food for the people of this bloody great country. Now if the politicians would throw the book of red tape in the bin and let farmers do the work they need to do it would be a far better country to live in too.

I think Clarkson’s Farm is some of the best tv ever, it even eclipses TG and GT in Clarksons own content. This and Hammond’s Workshop are must watch binge watch for me.

  • well I'm a fan of Jeremy Clarkson I've been for a long time I've watched his serious one and two of his farm dealings and I thought it was wonderful. And I'm really pleased to see that he's trying to help in Britain with the small Family Farms it's very important. I'm from San Pedro California USA we have problems with our family farms here in the United States. They either make too much to get health care you're not making enough to support their families properly the suicide rate is huge or small family farms in the United States also in India has a similar problem and that was basically because Monsanto came into India and was there program of genetic modified seeds locked in the small family farmers in a way that it could never make enough money and a lot of them killed themselves. And that's not nice support your local Family Farm anyway you can it makes a big difference

  • When I was a teenager, in the early 80s in NZ. I remember the removal of farming subsidies. I had been working on a neighbouring farm since I was 12, every day after school I would spend a few hours doing whatever I could for 50 cents/hr. It was devastating, these farms of 100 or 200 acres where suddenly unable to support the families that depended on them. Suicides amd bankruptcies where common. Many left the land, farms were merged, with the larger neighbours or out of town investors buying these properties. It was the start of large scale commercial farming in New Zealand. I see this future for the UK, it is going to be a tough time. Realistically they are not going to compete for sometime. The costs in the UK are high, the scales small, the land prices mean it isn't feasible to start as a young couple with an economic parcel of land. European farming in general is going to face this and the answer starts with governments removal hurdles, folks doing some honest maths (your 100 acres or 100 cows will never pay its way, that's just the truth, dont blame me for the honesty), and I believe food is very cheap. 100 years ago most folks dedicated their lives to produce food. Now under 10% do this, including all the processing such as miller's, bakers etc. I really feel for the UK farmers, I've seen what is about to happen, and it's scary

    @BobJones20001@BobJones2000112 күн бұрын
    • Too late, the CAP & Supermarket dominance in the commodity market had already made family farming on 100 acres (or less) uneconomic. Look at the stats these last 20 years. The die hard are left and you’ve gotta love them. Been a wet winter/spring & they’re on the back foot, nice to know Jeremy will be championing the cause.

    • The show made it very clear that it is near impossible for farmers to make money farming. Still remember 187 pounds a year and that is with subsidies? Like it or not, large scale industrial farming is the only economically viable option. I have to thank Murican farmers who contributed a lot to China's food security anyway when Trump thought it good to make China buy Murican produce. Without the "SeeSeePee", it'd be even harder for Murican farmers to make money.

Here in the US one might bring this to the attention (how Jamie is being black balled by the council) of your local state representative or Congressman on the federal level how they were stifling farming in the community and they could possible do something and it wouldn't cost anything out of pocket (tax payer money yes), surly not half a million like it apparently would cost in the UK.
