6 688 Рет қаралды

The Nashville Predators hoped to even up their first round series against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday, but two late clutch goals by Brock Boeser and defensive breakdowns by the Predators handed the Canucks an overtime win and a 3-1 series lead. On today's Locked On Predators we take a hard look at an overtime loss that should have been a regulation win including our "one word" to describe the game. What went wrong in the last three minutes of the third period that cost the Preds their composure and ultimately the game? We hear from Roman Josi on how the locker room felt about the shocking loss and what the team's mindset has to be facing elimination on the road. Where do the Predators go from here ahead of Tuesday's night's game?

    • I'm a diehard nucks fan but Nashville is a team I've always cheered for because Nashville is literally the only city I'd want to live in in the entire US. Love everything about the city and the preds fans are a great fanbase. I am impressed with how well you guys have clamped down defensively, completely shutting down Petey and despite Hughes getting points, you guys are the first team to actually wear him down and lay a body on him. The thing is tho with the nucks is we have a bunch of guys that don't need shot volume to score, we are real good at burying our chances and have won a lot of games while only getting a few high danger chances. With Demko out our team plays a much more conservative style so capatilizing on what chances we get is a must. I gotta say tho you guys should move Sarros for some more scoring punch and roll with Askorov, since I think Jussi has been trending down and so will his value.

  • Canucks fan here. Due to the Pred's relentless locking down of Vancouver's high-octane offense, the Canucks looked tired, lethargic, and hesitant for 57 minutes. The next 4 minutes, I don't know if it was the Canucks finding a higher gear, the Predators getting careless, or both, but Vancouver suddenly looked like an unstoppable juggernaut, winning a game they should and could easily have lost. Obviously I'm cheering for Vancouver, but Nashville - win or lose - should be proud of the Preds. Seeing them play in this series, I can see how they went on such a winning streak to end the regular season.

  • Another Canucks fan here, If I’m being brutally honest with myself I’d have to admit that the Canucks are third worst team in the playoffs so far. I’ve watched pretty much every game and series and other teams are faster hungrier and I see all out effort and sacrifice. They can play better but if they don’t pick it up they might not win another game in the playoffs. All the credit to the Preds for shutting down the Canucks. Series should be 3-1 for Nashville but that’s hockey. Game 3 Canucks get 12 shots on goal and win with 2 PP goals and some clutch goaltending. Game 4 Canucks completely disinterested most of the game and a couple of breakdowns and clutch plays get the win. Lindholm held the puck perfectly before feeding Boeser on the second goal. Hughes breaking ankles on the third goal and Garland with a beauty of a pass to Lindholm where Oreilly lost coverage. Let’s see what happens rest of series.

  • If you do the “one word” segment, I have one word for the Preds, it’s “seconds”. As in, how many times can the Preds give up costly goals this season within seconds of regulation, or another goal, or any other unfortunate opportunities that the opposition can take advantage of. This team just quits sometimes and it’s always at the worst times. How many embarrassing losses have the Preds had this year where defeat has been grabbed from the clothes of a winning opportunity. I’ll never stop being a Preds fan, but they sure don’t make it easy to be one.

They have been the better team in all 4 games dispite being down 3 to 1 in the series. What I personally think is happening here is called playoff growing pains. Now yes the preds have been in the league for a long time now. But keep in mind the Canucks joined the league in 1970. The Canucks have repeatedly over the years been kicked in the teeth in the playoffs very much like what's happening right now to the preds. I think it's the just a case of the hockey gods as unfair as they are. They're just saying to the universe its not your time. Anyway take it with a grain of salt. I can't explain it. It makes no sense. Good luck the rest of the way.

Vancouver just found another gear with their goalie out and Nashville choked as well. I thought the majority of that third was a clinic on how to play with a lead. The Canucks third in game 3 was a defensive shell. Ironically I hated that period but the Canucks got it done.
