The USA is a really big place. Within the wide-open spaces of the contiguous United States, as well as Alaska and the far-flung islands of Hawaii, there’s just about every climate and ecosystem you can imagine; from temperate rainforests and pine-clad mountains to deserts and scrublands. Naturally, there are a lot of national parks dedicated to preserving the best that nature has to offer in the USA. Otherworldly sandstone monuments, multicolored hot springs, craggy coastlines, scorching deserts - it’s all here. Have a look at the best national parks in America.

    • Great Smoky Mountains boasts the most visited park last year at 12.9 Million visitors!!! A factor for this is its location in the US, a days drive from majors cities on this side of the country. Please don't come here (or anywhere ) in these Parks and leave rolled up diapers in the parking lots and leave your garbage in your car till you can find a dumpster. There are really some who don't care where they trash. Sad.

    @joamanuelvelazquez7370@joamanuelvelazquez73703 жыл бұрын
    • Everglades May not be the most appealing park to humans because it essentially is just a hot, muggy, swamp. But this park wasn’t created for humans. This park was one of the first national parks created to solely protect the wildlife that call the Everglades home. And if you look deep enough the abundance of wildlife really does make this park a real gem.

    • I agree that Olympic should be in such a list - but understand that maybe their approach was to list those parks most readily experienced by tourists. ONP requires getting out of the car and walking around - ideally for long day hikes into the remarkable scenery offered by such a large and diverse park. That's the only way I can understand its exclusion.

  • For me, Mesa Verde made the Grand Canyon feel quaint. Imagining the scale of those dwellings was awe-inspiring. In pictures, and videos it always looks tiny, and doesn't do it justice. We also tent camped on top for two nights, and I've never seen a more brilliant sky in my life. You get the double benefit of high elevation, and low light pollution. It's absolutely UNREAL looking! Mesa Verde also had one of the coolest (and scariest) trails I've ever hiked (Petroglyph Trail). There's a portion were you have to climb up the rockface almost vertically.

  • I don't know why but everyone always forgets about Olympic National Park and North Cascades National Park. They have to be the most underrated parks in the US. Personally, as a previous Washington resident and current Virginia resident, I was disappointed Shenandoah was on this list and Olympic and North Cascades wasn't. Shenandoah is pretty, but it just doesn't hold a candle to any of Washington's National Parks.

The video only focused on the geysers/hot springs, which are amazing, but so much more to Yellowstone than Old Faithful. Most amazing is the wildlife. • Alex Saylor yeah Banff, jasper, and anywhere in the Rockies. If you want to do a road trip start in Vancouver - Kelowna - Banff - jasper - Edmonton and from Edmonton fly across to the east coast and go to Nova Scotia and see the coast with all of the cliffs. I live in Alberta 5 hours from Banff and the rest of Alberta other than the Rockies is just flat boring farmland. Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba aren’t worth seeing. For USA I really want to go to the desert in Arizona and the Grand Canyon, Texas, Florida (been once), California, West Virginia, Alaska and Hawaii (been once)
