pokemon masters has manga references so it makes sense that would be allowed to use darker stuff since the manga is gory.

@@therumjiggler6879 he probably have never seen Deoxys in person but i think he found out about the existence of it and the meteorite and kept it in secret so the other scientists wouldn't know about it. So their former goal was to go to space and investigate the space virus, but Archie refused (assuming he probably feared that Jirachi might be living somewhere in space and die from a Doom Desire something like that) and that's how the beef comes in. It could possibly be and how they parted their ways to help/wipe off humanity. Though this is just how i speculated their pasts or something.
It never dawned on me that Jirachi and Deoxys were a pair of mythicals, but it really makes sense with the whole out space motif they have.

A fun little tidbit about Chairman Rose- He is definitely based upon the British/Indian Steel tycoon Laxmi Mittal. Rose Tower is based on the ArcelorMittal Orbit , it has almost the same design. And Chairman Rose's ace is Copperajah, the pokemon who's dex entry states it to be from a far away land.

Arven didn't know they died until after we brought him down. He thought they abandoned him instead. Were they the best of parents? No. But that doesn't make them villains. hence why i said "villains" in quotes. They're not the usual type of villain. Just made out to seem like one.

Lusamine, for example: you could say that she’s not truly a villain in the sense that she’s dedicated to her ultra beast research to try and get her husband back and neglected her children in the process. In her case, she ends up either becoming so obsessed with ultra beasts she’s willing to destroy Alola to get them, or going off to catch Ultra Necrozma to save Alola, and in the real Sada and Turo’s case, they were willing to sacrifice Paldea’s environment to bring interdimensional pokemon to the present day, stating that their environment abnormalities were “a fact of life.” Here’s another example to throw out there: Colress. In the games at least, he was just a scientist researching the bond between people and Pokémon, and the only reason he’s a part of team plasma is to further said research. He does no actual harm in the games, and actually is a pretty useful ally in alola. I wouldn’t consider him a real villain, but technically speaking he is one in BW2. In conclusion, Sada and Turo may not be intended to be painted as villains, but they’re still the region’s main villains regardless

Well, I think with the ending of PLA, the two clans were friendlier? Weren’t they? So maybe they became one team and then Maxie and Archie broke off and made their own teams during that time
Honestly, Hoenn's story could have been so much better if the two teams had started as one, but split off into two. Say, Maxie and Archie worked for an organization that studied the environment, and the organization determined that Kyogre and-or Groudon were starting to wake up, so the organization created two teams, each with the purpose of studying one of the legends, to try to find a way to divert the coming disaster, with Maxie and Archie being selected as team leaders. They aren't introduced as antagonists, but they do become increasingly desperate over the course of your interactions with them, and eventually, one or both of them comes into contact with one of the orbs, Maxie with the Red Orb in Ruby and Emerald, and Archie with the Blue Orb in Sapphire and Emerald. The orbs, physical manifestations of the wills of Kyogre and Groudon respectively, then compelled Maxie and Archie to return the orb to the respective legend. This wouldn't be out of place, as the orbs showed this effect in both the anime and the manga, and it's only in the games where the orbs were treated as inert objects without their own will. In Ruby and Sapphire, the non-afflicted team attempts to figure out what happened to their counterpart and tries to stop them. In Emerald, with both teams being afflicted by an orb, they start to fight each other as a manifestation of the animosity between the two legends. In either case, we, the player, get drawn up into the conflict, and it's only after the Titans are subdued and the orbs are sealed away on Mt. Pyre that those afflicted by them realize what was happening, that they had been used to bring about what it was that they were trying to prevent, and that if they hadn't been so desperate to try to use the orbs, Kyogre and Groudon likely wouldn't have awoken in the first place. That storyline, I think, would have resulted in a more compelling character-driven arc for both teams that went beyond "Imma commit eco terrorism because I like land/water - oh, wait, that's _bad_??? Why did no one tell me!?", and it would have made the regret that Maxie and Archie expressed at the end actually feel justified and more real.
I remember years ago seeing some fanart of Maxie and Archie as Team Rocket members implying that the organization they were in was Team Rocket. I don't know if there's Canon evidence for that or if it's just a theory/headcanon people have come up with.
What if we/they had to kill kyorge/Groupon to stop it waking up? What's a worse crime, allowing the whole world to be destroyed, or destroying 1/2 pokemon?
Archer is also the only gen 2 cross gen character to show up in Lets Go. Kamado's village might actually have been the beta village at the Lake of Rage... which would actually be a fun easter egg if thats the case.
Doesn't Rowan even visit the lake of rage in Diamond and pearl prior to the story starting?
Originally there was slated to be a town there. Maybe they used the fact that it was scrapped as a backstory.
god seeing lusamine fuse with an alien was so insane and i was so disappointed when she just chucked out a pokeball and it was just trainer battle but all her mons had a single buff. i would have loved to get a unique fight against fused lusamine herself

Ever since hearing about the book, I couldn't help but draw parallels between Cyrus and Ōba Yōzō of No Longer Human. His fear of humanity and emotion fit, his history is somewhat similar, and Ōba is largely emotionless by the end of the novel. He's also quite young at the end, so that fits, too. The fact that Cyrus does find some measure of peace also fits with the sympathy people have for the author, Dazai, who Ōba was based on, and the desire to give some incarnation of him a happy ending, something that the author was denied in real life. A pretty dark and mature reference for a Pokemon game, but Pokemon was attempting to target a more mature audience by the 4th generation.

I rushed through the sinnoh games (oxymoron I know) but learning the fact about Cryrus’ grandfather in Platinum which I missed kinda makes me pity his character and wish they were reunited
Ikr. Such a sad story there. But I also feel like it may be better that they're not, since this man knew his grandson was suffering but did nothing to help.
The characters in Pokémon masters are never implied to be from an alternate timeline, but rather that the events in the Pokémon Masters universe happened differently to how they occurred in the games/anime. The only characters implied to come from another timeline/universe (afaik) are Cyrus and Ash. Cyrus was implied to be from a different timeline because when he was told to stop trying to control palkia and dialga to create a new world because they had tried doing this before, he asked what in the world they were talking about, and how they knew about his plans. And nobody even recognised Ash.

Finally, a video about Pokémon villains that doesn't include Piers or Penny. I don't get why people struggle to understand that since they are not bad people, they don't do harmful actions, their objectives doesn't oppose the player's and their evil teams are not "evil", they are not villains nor antagonists. Even though I hate Kamado with a passion, I have to say it: he's not exactly a "villain". He's more of a temporary antagonist that makes bad decisions with good intentions. Also, the Galaxy Team is also not evil, villainous or antagonistic. The real villainous team in Legends Arceus is the Miss Fortune Sisters. I also don't think the term "villain" is appropriate for N. He's just a puppet for Ghetsis, and never actually means any harm. "Antagonist" is, again, the better term. And, about the professors: Personally, I don't think the AI Professors are villains nor antagonists, since they clearly don't want to fight the player and their objective is the same as ours. I think the real villain of the main story of Scarlet and Violet is the original Professor, since they are the ones who were willing to put the entire region in danger without any care just because of their "dream", and even created to Paradise Protection Protocol to prevent anyone to solve the problem they caused. They are dead during the story and we never get to directly confront them, but since we have to fight the consequences of their actions (figuratively and literally), I'd say they are post-mortem villains. There is a difference between "villain" and "antagonist". Some characters are both of these things, some are just one of these things and some are neither of these things. But most Pokémon fans have so much difficulty understanding this, just like most of them don't know the difference between a friendly rival (Nemona) and a friend who is not a rival (Arven and Penny).
Yell were at least a public nuisance who tried to annoy people into giving up their dreams of being champion. But yeah they're just sports hooligans. Galaxy was totally antagonistic. Kamado was going to go to war with the local clans if they aided you, and Beni is very heavily implied to have killed on Kamado's orders before. Agreed on the AIs and professors. Idk why so many people don't consider the professors to be villains. Like wtf did you play the game.

Ok, so with Archie, knowing this fact that he’s always had a connection with Jirachi makes his role in the manga really cool! So, spoilers if you haven’t read the Emerald arc of the manga, it’s revealed that Emerald’s rival for catching Jirachi, Gulie, was Archie all along who was revived by a villain from the FireRed LeafGreen arc, and he wants Jirachi to wish for a giant Kyorge water monster to flood the world, and he flat out killed Maxie to make it happen, so knowing he’s always had a connection to Jirachi makes it so cool
In the anime, Jirachi wished up a fake Groudon. In the manga, Jirachi wished up a fake Kyogre.
Macro cosmos being in the movie is such a cool detail, such a shame they’re never expanded upon (or even have their own grunt/employee theme)

Volo is the villain, Kamado only made the mistake of casting the player out from the village. Me personally, I would say I would have been angry enough to admass an army of Alpha Lopunny♀️ and burn the village to the ground, but luckily Pokemon Games don't have a morality mechanic.

I guess technically Eternatus counts as a non-human villain, as it is the driving force of the Darkest Day and would've inevitably happen anyways. It is effectively an eldritch abomination that crossed dimensions and became a threat. I guess it was technically redeemed thanks to it being caught.

I know the AIs themselves aren’t truly villains but the professors themselves are considered to be the “main villains” of the games and the AIs were programmed to act like them if the Time Machine was threatened
Heck, when the security system starts talking through the AIs, it's credited to the original professor. This is their words, their actions, their malice, forced through their own double.

Detective Pikachu came out in MAY 2019, in Endgame’s 3rd week (second in Japan). If it was July it would’ve been against Far From Home
Chairman Rose is also the only team leader to show their fall into delusion. He is one of two game villains that does it, I'm talking mainstream. The other is Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7.

I'm fairly certain that Silver was confirmed to be Giovanni's son in the GS chapter of the manga, and he was definitely confirmed to be Giovanni's son by the end of the FRLG chapter. Archie's history with Jirachi goes back to the manga as well; Archie, under an alternate alias, was the main antagonist of the Emerald chapter, where his overall goal was to use Jirachi's ability to grant wishes.
So Gethsis has a stroke? Can't move the left hand very well (his model never moves it and we only see him using it for that one opening cut scene) he has an eye patch and the left side of his mouth doesn't move very well.

In the manga canon, yes. Since Colress was made a complete, unreformed villain in it, they had to use a disguised characters to make "him" appear in Alola.

Pretty sure Masters confirms that Maxie and Archie used to be in the same team. Masters is a spinoff but follows canon events heavily enough to where I think you could believe its events or lore added/confirmed via it to be canon

I have to double check my info but a fun fact for Rose is that he's the only team villain that actually gets arrested for his shenanigans.😂 Giovanni runs off, Maxie and Archie don't get a punishment for almost destroying the world, Cyrus disappears to who knows where in the shadow realm, Ghetsis runs off and doesn't get a sentence either, Lysandre presumably dies or runs off, Lusamine is rehabilitated after huffing too much Nihilego fumes (and also retconned to be a bit less crazy in Ultra), and Rose? Straight up jail.
Ghetsis originally got arrested but escaped.

That didn't stop GameFreak from giving some early admin battles some challenge in the Hoenn games (Mars and Jupiter with their Purugly and Night Slashing Skuntank namely). Maybe if they kept those battles, Archie and Maxie wouldn't be such pushovers despite being some of my favorite villains in the game (in design, both original and remake designs, and just how batshit their plans were...and then pissing off Kyrogue/Groudon anyway with the wrong colored orbs. I miss easily made fun of villains. Thanks Team Skull for bringing that back. Thought that would be Team Flare being that team but then I played Masters and Lysandre flat out killed a pair of Rocket grunts so...) Favorite villain in this list will always be Colress though Want to know why, feel free to ask. If I put my reasons here, my comment will be too big XD
