Sadly, most upcomers start out doing just about anything with no regard for basics. Literally spent the whole day digesting this video and I am so glad I did.     • 808 is a drum machine. Ask me what you wanna know and I'll answer you. But most likely you're looking for "slides" and "mono/legato"

    • I like to, as someone with a background in drumming, approach it with funk. If you know how to do funk, do that and make it more like your bassdrum is hyperactive. To get a good starting point, I'd suggest Commodores' Brick House and RHCP's Give It Away. It might not help you as much with those unnatural hihat rolls, but it definitly helps with the bassdrum
