LittleMsSam has a mod that changes the welcome wagon to a housewarming party with people your sim actually knows rather than strangers. Very useful

Sometimes I need my Sims to make new friends, that’s why I haven’t used it. The Welcome wagon is actually useful on a fresh save. Didn’t know so many people hated them, lol.
Littlemssam is a godsend. Her mods fixes a lot of ea bugs. Also, if you don't know already, Bienchen (or sims4me) also has mods that tweak a lot of stuff that (some) think might be annoying, can be a little overwhelming though if you're new to their web because it's literally a lot. Perhaps it can be your next content idea lol
The majority of my mods are from LittleMsSam and Bienchen. They're lifesavers. 🙌🏻

there's a mod that i think it's by little ms sam that makes the maid, nanny and gardener actually do their job. it's on curseforge so you can just look her up on there and then scroll through them. but i've always had the issue where i'd get those services and so many times they'd come to the door, not to anything, leave and then charge you, and the mod makes it so they actually go and do stuff. like sometimes the maid would come in, grab a glass, put it in the dishwasher and leave, meanwhile a bunch of clothes were on the floor, there was trash to take out, there were tons of dirty dishes, and the maid would just leave it there, but with the mod the maid actually cleans the damn house. and there's also a separate one for a nanny to come in automatically every day, instead of you having to hire one every time you need one. and she'll take care of the kids, changes diapers, bathes them, feeds them, and if they're sleeping, the nanny will actually help out cleaning the house as well
Hot tip because nobody seems to know this- For the welcome wagon, it comes with base game that you can click on the door and select “disallow solicitors” and they won’t come. Happy simming!
I love that you need mods literally just to make the game work in the sims 4 🫠 (Also yes, the sims 2 does have an expandable build/buy catalog)
I like the sims 2 but when I add mods it doesn't want to open them I got the 4g mod to give it a bigger storage I think and the game will have an opening error

You can disable welcome wagon in game by clicking on the front door and selecting disallow solicitors under the no trespassing option
I can't live without MSQSims "no autonomous" mods. For example "no atonomous drink water", no more drinking every three seconds yay!
I always forget I have the columns mod because it just feels like something that should be in the game. Why is the actual CAS only 2 columns?!
Me too. When I updated the game and that mod stopped working I thought the interface looked so small.
because even tho the game is too massive to work on a laptop, ea insists to make it "available" for even small laptops so the screen is smaller and 2 columns might be more convenient.
I couldnt find one mods name mentioned with the tweaks to autonomy so i googled and its "smarter selfcare" by chingyu1023 incase ure looking to dl these aswell (which I am) So thanks for sharing!

I play with all of these and they are all amazing- I'm forever seeing issues on let's plays and being unaware that those things even happen in normal play! The sleep all night mod is a total game changer with families- you can get into a proper routine and kids go to school after a full nights sleep etc ♡♡♡
LittleMsSam and TwistedMexi should really just be hired by Maxis. They just understand so many of the little tweaks that make gameplay a pleasure and not a chore.

i like mods that add new careers bc the sims has gotten VERY stingy adding new careers lately
I used to have the 3 CAS Collums mod. But switch to 4 collums and just turned my ui smaller to fit in the screen. And back to bigger ui when in gameplay.

Is there a mod that stops them from getting a cup of tea before they’ve even finished the previous cup? I had to turn off fully autonomous and they will still randomly grab a drink or pet their cat which puts them in an animation loop and wastes six hours

In my experience, as a fairly new (5 year) dev/ 3d artist, devs can be VERY insecure about other devs or artists. They can be really antisocial and completely unwilling to help OR accept criticism. This is why you are paying 100s of dollars for the full game instead of the normal amount. Companies are bloated, inneficient and they hire people based on their willingness to conform to bureaucracy and not their artistic or programming ability.

Strangers visiting my lots don't really bother me. If I'm not interested in the stranger, I just don't answer the door. I've noticed that since one of the recent updates, strangers tend to have common interests with someone in the household. One of my Sims found the love of their life when a stranger came to the door.

Better build buy is one of my favorite mods! It also does a lot more than you mentioned- it names debug items (so every debug item isn’t named ***DEBUG*** anymore and you can actually search for them lol), it sorts them better in item categories, it lets you eye drop debug items and clone them which is SO wonderful…. This mod literally does SO much and is pretty much a necessity if you’re a big builder in the Sims 4!

cullumns for the CAS and the build mode are extremely usefull. I rather did not download any mods "rewriting" the gameplay since I dont want to screw anything up :D, and also, I´d have to be updating these mods quite often probably, which is kinda meh since they are posted all over the internet and not on one place.
I need help y’all, I just startled playing on laptop after years of playing pc so this is like a whole new world for me, the first thing I did was download around 5GB of cc items and one mod and my game is so laggy 😭 what can i do???
I mean- all I can suggest is to either get used to the lag or don’t use mods or go back to pc
I play on a simple laptop too and have 30+ GB of mods. I realized that my laptop needed to be plugged in all the time when I play. For me this works and have very little lag when I go in/out of build mode. Hope this helps😇

Years ago I had mods on my Sims4 and then sometime back in 2020 my Sims4 games totally went corrupt, I somehow lost my entire save file. It was a combination of I didn't know wtf I was doing, and I never had backups (huge mistake) so I literally rebuilt my entire game with the lots I had saved in my gallery. I'm a little afraid to add mods back to be honest but how do you do it so you protect your main save game file? Or all of you using mods have several save files with various mods??
I just use the same mods for all my save files. And I just Googled how to back my games up with step by step directions.
I mean all I could suggest is to copy all your save files and move them somewhere else
I always keep a backup copy of my main save file. I also keep a backup of my tray files and my mod folder. Why don't you want to use the same mods in all of your saves? Is there a reason for this? I'm just curious.

Not Shit Sherlock. Mods have saved the Sims ass over 100 times. EA keeps selling bug products and the Mod community cleans up the Sims. Just wait for the bigger mess known as Sims 5.

I'd be mad too if I paid money for a game and the DLCs and it won't even work or is broken and unplayable all of the time. If you don't like the content, you can unsub and move on. You may not find it helpful, but others might.
