The NBA draft lottery takes place on Sunday afternoon and there's a lot at stake for the Raptors. Toronto owns the sixth best odds at winning the first overall selection but have even higher odds of losing their draft pick all together. Josh Lewenberg breaks down the 'no-win scenario' the Raptors put themselves in.

Besides RJ seems to be the one ready to take the next step. Are you Scotty fans going to say the same thing about RJ? That he is going to stop Scotty growth? Scotty needs to be able develop his skills alongside good talented players.

Poeltl may return a Top 10 Lottery pick to SA. That being said if Masai goes the Raptors will be even more of a dumpster fire. Masai needs to hit on these draft picks and bring in some contributing free agent vets not Garrett Temple towel wavers. I hope Masai can get rid of Brown because at 23 million for 2024-25 that is a garbage contract. It's trades with for significant players with other teams that will get them into discussions of winning a championship. By the time these draft picks start to matter (if they even ever do), contracts for today's main players on the team will be expiring.

    @Doug5614@Doug561411 күн бұрын
    • That’s not true at all. If you land a top 5 pick they can usually provide some use on the floor. If we had all our draft picks before making the Jakob trade, we could have been adding lotto picks to the lineup which is good for the team. Who are you trading for that supposed significant player? Chris Boucher? We got no one besides Scottie to trade and he’s our guy so that’s not happening

When it comes for Scottie's contract to be renewed (and the clock is ticking on that one) , Mr. Rookie of the year and Mr. All-Star is going to be commanding a max deal. If the Raptors don't have things figured out how to be true contenders by then, Scottie's gonna walk and go somewhere he's got a better chance to win. They've mismanaged a lot of assets and carried out absolutely pitiful roster construction the last few years. But even these last few years they've made some decent moves like: drafting Scottie over Suggs, drafting Grady, turning Og who was likely to walk into Quickly and Barrett. Lets also see what they do with the Picks they got for Pascal. I'm also not just gonna completely ignore all the great moves this front office made in the 2010's because they didn't happen recently. The list is ridiculous: The Bargnani trade, the Gay Trade, Turning Grievis Vasquez into OG and Norm 😂, getting Ibaka, getting Gasol, getting Lowry, getting Leonard, drafting Pascal, Firing Casey for Nurse, signing undrafted Fred. If they continue to drop the ball they 100% do gotta go but I'm not entirely sure yet if they are incapable of turning it around. And if the team is atrocious next year, then good. 😂 We're rebuilding the worse the better.
