And not even 5 years later he is top 3 player. I recently found Zverev interview after he played 17-year-old Alcaraz. He won 6-3 6-1 and said that Alcaraz will probably be in the top 10 by 2024. And in 2022 he is number 2.

the best part about jannik playing then winning next gen, was that he was quite unknown in the junior circuit

From what I see Jannik doesn't show you which way he's throwing it until the last millisecond. It is very difficult for the opponent to understand whether the missile goes to the right or to the left..

I find it strange that he's using the jump where both legs come together then jump into the serve, it's not that it's strange that he jumps like that, it's that in 2022-2023 he was using the the serve where his legs don't come together when he jumps and instead he was using a more open stance right before jumping. You can see that in 3:15

yeah pinpoint vs open stance, many players are changing it to be more comfortable. Didn’t work for him though.

My personal take is i do not see Sinner or Alacaraz winning 20+ grand slams, i know they are talented but people dont seem to realise how difficult it is. For the next 15 years they each have to win 1 in 3 slams. They cannot have too many off years where they dont win any. Alacaraz won Wimble last year, he needs to win atleast 2 this year to keep up an average. It shows you just how incredible the top ever 3 were/are.

I thunk jannik learned his basics from Piatti. But for mental game, strategy to beat the opponent, the right physical training, he has his team now.
