  • HATSUNE MIKU IS NOT A.I. It's just a character put on a vocal synthesizer programme called VOCALOID. The program allows users (mostly indie composers) to legally create singing vocals for their original songs. However, it requires their full input; from coming up with the lyrics to determining the notes and breathes the 'voice' say and take. There is ZERO A.I. involvement. @WatchMojo PLEASE do your research. A simple Google search would've let you know this fact.

    @WolfieCanem@WolfieCanem Жыл бұрын
    • You are not entirely wrong, however you can ask AI to create lyrics for you, maybe even the melody part can also be solved specially since the program supports midi.

    • @@ElMusicoArtificial Sure. But most if not all Hatsune Miku composers compose their own music. It's due to their own skills that some have even managed to become producers for anime. Also, Miku was prominent almost a decade ago, so your argument for recently developed AI is moot.

    • @@WolfieCanem Hmmm I seen a lot of cover songs too so I think it is inaccurate to attempt to describe what most composers do without invasive data. We are talking about a software available online, not something that requires certain scholarship to use. And again I am pretty sure AI is gonna be increasingly used in every aspect of music and other industries, yea, vocaloid included. Wouldn't be surprised if Yamaha themselves start implementing AI into Vocaloid.

The song itself is created by a real person just like any other song, but for the vocals they used a voicebank software (Hatsune Miku) instead of singing it themselves (same for the hologram) that was a misleading example to use

  • Even though Miku is literally not an AI, she's just a synthesiser and cannot produce songs out of thin air. World is Mine was written and released in 2008 BY ryo, of Supercell. It's just a story about a spoiled princess falling in love with a boy, the band just used Miku's voice for the vocals. The 3D model of her is not sentient during concerts, official ones arranged by Crypton, who created her. The dancing is a pre-prepped, motion captured video, which the concert band will play along side. Miku's been around for near on 15 years now, how do people not know what she is at least a little bit? Good to see WatchMojo researched thoroughly.

  • This really rivals "Top Ten NFTs" in the "list ideas that should've gotten someone fired for even suggesting them" category. Please, do not promote AI generated music, art, or anything of the sort. All it is doing is ripping off other artists' sounds and styles without permission and Crohnenberg-ing them together to make something that sounds generic and souless. And they run the actual risk of running struggling indie artists out of a job. You'd get more artistic expression from John Cage's 4'33" then whatever this computer generated garbage is. You'd think a channel that actively PROMOTES REAL INDIE ARTISTS would have a better understanding of how harmful AI generated crap like this is to the industry.

    • @Draconicus Mathius Anytherion just because someone doesn't work a typical or generic 9-5 like you doesn't mean they're not really working. Their life is literally their work. You underestimate how much people grind just to make it to where they're trying to go with their career or lives if they're really dedicated to it. Granted, there are those more cutthroat individuals and those who take the escalator to the top, especially with connections, but I digress. Don't discount the work people do just to realize their passion and express themselves and entertain people to make a living because it's not the same way how you make your living. It's not easy making a living off that. And most people don't get to do that or reach it. And if you somehow manage to do that and thrive off it, then you've likely worked your ass off for it

    • A lot of the fear is that it does sound good. That’s why it’s scary, not that it sounds off but that it sounds like it has just as much soul as drake, eminem or who ever it’s mimicking. Fans of music, people who like music are saying it sounds good. Doesn’t matter if YOUR specific opinion is it sounds or SHOULD sound less than. That being said good points in your post but taking the shame angle is an emotional one instead of a logical route of convincing people to share your opinion. Good luck fighting in what you believe in and your moral crusade.

    • @@Amfortas it's all about what it's used for. Printing press was used mainly to copy and distribute papers so that it reaches people more widely and more quickly. This, if people use it just to borderline steal or ripoff other people by taking something that is of them and using it to create an "original" that is just an amalgamation of actual originals, then it's being abused. If ai music was just it's own genre altogether and primarily consisted of people using their own stuff or their own voices or work and have the machine put it together and reproduce, then it'd be less of a problem with most artists

  • Comparing AI to food, so far it Isn’t producing anything that goes beyond just a nice TV dinner. Doesn’t have any nutrients! Seriously, though, just doesn’t lift off the ground emotionally. Has the chords and the sounds but the whole point of music is to evoke emotion and it just doesn’t. …just like a nice TV dinner

  • Who really feels sorry for the music industry? The playingfield changes and they are just going to complain as long as they ain't in control. If they could charge you for the use of letters or accords they would. Imaterial rights and material rights are just constructs of society, the "owners" will try to put up fences around what rights they believe is theirs as long as they believe they can defend them. So the real question is how this fight is going to pan out. What types of data will be accepted as input data into ai tools that semi or fully automatically can build new immaterial things? Will they have the capacity to maintain control? Do we want them to?

    @Hagel8427@Hagel8427 Жыл бұрын
    • What music industry? It has already been destroyed and devastated by mass copyright violation in the form of consuming original music without paying them for it. What is your job? How about we invent a technology that steals the products of your means of productions and tell you to shut up when you complain. Do you sell cars? Now cars are disappearing off car lots because of a teleportion machine. Stop complaining bro. And AI will never replace human musical artists . The best it can do is make something that sounds impressive. It can’t express anything human and deep that is the foundation of huge artists like Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and so on.
