It’s my favorite racer. Blew my mind to have different types of vehicles at the same time. Plus the hidden coins and unlocked levels/ reverse mode. It was next level. Great soundtrack too.

My kids got into gaming playing Mario and other games because we had the physical copy of it. I remember the imagination boost holding those cases, reading those booklets, inserting that media… sigh. The idea of not being able to do that for myself or my grandkids is off putting.
Its why I enjoy showing my cousin the evercade game cases, Im also tempted to splurge on some custom switch manuals. There was so much joy with physicals and manuals which explained so much. Baffling how new games dont even have digital manuals anymore.
I also feel like having something tangible increases curiosity about it.
You still can with your older consoles. The children most likely won't care. Most physical gamers do not care enough to hold onto their physical games

I currently by physical with switch bc I didn't want to buy a large SD. However I'm tired of changing the carts, so I'll go all digital for the next. XSX I only buy digital & streaming
One of my favorite memories is whenever my wife and me moved in together after high school and she said that she wanted to get a GameCube with some games and we walked into the game store and walked out with a GameCube with a game boy player and like five or six games including paper Mario thousand Year door harvest Moon Zelda Twilight princess windwaker ocarina of Time and I think we only spent like maybe $200 maybe like $230 I don't know something like that but it wasn't anywhere near the price it would be today. She still has all that stuff today.
The fact it's called the "non-compete agreement" explains why we've seen a lack of competition for so long.

The flaw of your argument is that they have existed for hundreds of years before video games did. Preventing a person from going to a direct competitor has been a part of contract law for centuries. Further an administrative agency does not have the authority to make such a rule. It would require a law to be passed by Congress giving them such Authority.

I can't recommend Wizardry enough. I first played the original in the 2010s and fell in love with the franchise. It's getting a big revival and deserves more eyes from younger gamers.
What I want to see in NSO is English translations for Custom Robo and Custom Robo V2. Both games are on the Japanese service, and the original has a fan translation available on the internet. Make it happen Nintendo.
Extreme G was my and my brother's jam. All I had to say was, " something extreme is dropping for N64 NSO..." His reply, "Gee, I wonder what that could be..."
My favourite high-speed racer on N64. More than F-Zero, Ep1 Racer, or Wipeout.

Yeah the toxic comments online yesterday was pathetic to see, people revising history saying that Starfields score was the complaint so SB having the same score is hypocracy.. the score wasnt the problem. Starfield was weaponized by many to mock PS users (so many "just buy an xbox" and "PS has no games" posts), it was heavily touted as a massive improvement to the genre, then it came out and it was just average which is why people mocked SF and those touting it as the next best thing. All that hype and the score was just mehh, its score would be lower if the many 10/10 not review reviews that were just reading the games store description were gone. Noticed Stellar Blades MC score was also hampered a lot by reviewers who complained about the skin suit.. as if this is the first game that used skin tight suits lol.

@@mikeuk666 I saw way more toxicity from the otherside saying the no game bit when sf was about to be released, but both sides are wrong, xbox took a while to get its games out but they did, PS put out a fair amount at the start but there is now a bit if a drip feed of new games now. The amount of times I was called pony for pointing out the obvious was ridiculous.. Gotta wonder if people really are like that or is it just people faking it to bring down a side they dislike, hard to say most of the time.

Stellar Blade seems to really show what unreal engine 4 can do and that it (more so than 5) is what this gen of systems was designed to run.
It really is disappointing to see where Ubisoft has taken the Watch Dogs series. Watch Dogs 1 and 2 were my first games last generation, so much fun to be had.
Gaming is getting more toxic with each generation. When a game gets slandered for its protagonist looking sexy and a score of 7 is no longer considered good we’ve hit a new low and there’s no end in site.
Over sexualized protagonists have always been a thing. Not everyone likes the games though and just because there is a hot girl doesn't mean it's good

I think 7 is a pretty good score for this game. I think 8 would have been more appropriate for this but tbh without being biased towards ot against it 7 is still a pretty solid and justifiable score by IGN.
The problem is that the games media has fallen off so much with their need to politicize everything. Everyone's an activist, and it's just made everything so unnecessarily stressful. They see too much through their emotional lenses and don't take enough of a logical approach. Is the game good? Just about everyone who plays the demo loves the game, so that shows you where the media's bias is. They're scoring based on their political views and their wanting of the game to fail or not sell as well because the look of the character isn't acceptable to the agenda they're helping to push. And unfortunately, some gamers don't want to admit this because they'd rather remain willfully ignorant so they can fit in with the crowd when necessary.
VideoGamer gave stellar blade a bad review because the protagonist is sexy. They talk about it in a negative way in the review. If you ignore those types of reviews this is easily an 85.
The slipcover being exclusive to Canada would be so funny because in the past we've missed out on so many pre-order bonuses for pokémon and other games

Disappoints me a little that the Thousand Year Door slip cover is exclusive to Canada. That's great for Canadians, but in my area it seems we just get a sheet of fridge magnets if we pre-order. I would love that slipcover to just be a default reversible cover across all regions.
I actually owned Extreme G as a kid and had a LOT of fun with it. Sometimes a friend and I played a 4-player-match together since you could play the game easily with one hand. Each one driving two bikes at the same time - sounds stressful, but it's been fun back in the day... I also remember renting Iggy's Reckin' Balls often - it was just so wierd and I enjoyed that 🙂

I love that Nintendo is trying to give older games that could be hidden gems to a new audience and give them another chance at finding their footing alongside the games that people obviously want to play. Who knows maybe we'll see Glover appear, which is kind of the most well-known hidden gem for the N64 and PS1.

Stellar blade looks to be the gold standard of what it means to be “polished”. In the balanced mode it stays above 48 fps taking advantage of vrr! I’m sooo excited for it!
It would probably have an 85 if it wasn't for sites like video gamer giving it a bad review due to the way the character looks. Read the really low reviews, some of them mention the character's appearance in a very negative way This stuff is why we shouldn't trust metacritic

@@backthrust1116 not sure it had anything to do with Eve's appearance because it has no bearing on the game poor platforming. Because it's supposed to be game.. not a Victoria Secret magazine. Nothing wrong with Eve's appearance but at the end of the day, you're supposed to be playing a game. Gameplay outweighs graphics any day of the week.
Wizardry is one of my favorite series. So glad to see some life around the franchise.

I remember playing Extreme G at a daycare, the daycare had many systems but everyone surrounded the N64 ones to play games like Goldeneye, Smash Bros, basically any game that was multiplayer, but if you were on your own, there were some single player games you could play like Mario 64, Starfox 64, and of course Zelda

If you pre-ordered pre-Primario the thousand year door directly from Nintendo you’ve got a replica of the stage prop from the game and some key rings which is what I did when it comes to 1st party releases I always order directly from Nintendo.
Maybe we'll see the likes of Phantasie III The Wrath of Nikademus remade at some point. Fondly remember playing this on C64 in 1987 with my two buddies.

For me, I always like to try & get the game that I know that I want & will absolutely play, as physical But, sometimes...there really isn't much choice, I got P4AU on sale (digital) back in Jan b/c the only physical switch copies of it were in Japanese, which I found to be kinda annoying tbh I also got P3P & P4G digitally b/c I knew the physical copies would be insane to buy second-hand ( I miss the damn window b/c I didn't know ) Also fuck Limited Run Games, they knew this shit would happen

Extreme G was my thing back in the day on the N64. Love this franchise. I still have them for N64. I still have XGIII on Nintendo Gamecube as well. I had XGRA on Gamecube too / I may have also rented it before I eventualyl bought it also but I finished it and that was that. I must have traded it in after with that list of Gamecube games I traded in so long ago. My collection is stark now heheh But yeah I love that franchise and since Accalim is no more I wonder if anyone could bring back the franchise with a new game...Or just redo the XG3/XG III and XGRA games with todays visuals and tech. XD

I had a lot of fun with Extreme G back in the day, with its trance soundtrack and feeling of speed as you break the sound barrier and the world goes silent. The sequels were better though, especially Extreme G 3 on GameCube.

Most of this Sales are no sales at all. If i see Dark Souls 3 Deluxe for 85$ marked down to 42,50$ it's still way to expensive. Im going more and more digital if the prices are low, but if the physical copy of this Game costs 10-15$ on ebay, this digital sales feels more like a rip off

I said this on another video, but I loved the Stellar Blade demo so I'm planning on stopping by the store after work to pick it up. I'm not sure when I'll get to it, as I just started Monochrome Mobius on the PS5 this past weekend (and am really enjoying it), but Stellar Blade is next up once I finish that.
Was there so much hubbub about Nier:Automata’s protagonist when it came out? I mean in parallel with Stellar Blade’s protagonist’s appearance, 2B’s design is not that conservative.
There was a fair amount of commotion about Nier, but not as bad as SB. Nier did come out almost 7 years ago though, and game journos and twitter goblins have become much more "aggressive" since then.
Maybe its just me, but i never see Nier Automata 2B as pretty girl or sex symbol. the intriguing story , theme song, fluid gameplay, and the fact we know shes a soldier android with no expression or humane interaction just makes it unique. While i argue SB might have better storyline but cant deny her aesthetics are one of major highlight in the gameplay ( at least until i start playing the game) since the gameplay and storyline kinda similar to the rest.

7:49 I enjoyed Extreme G for the N64 back in the day but I also remember it had crazy speed but had extreme slow down (on og N64 hardware anyway) when you shot that massive missile shot and such. Extreme G 2 was better but felt slower but I did enjoy the ability to "break the sound barrier" with it and it got all quiet till you slowed down enough.
Now that you mentioned it, I would love a Diddy Kong racing remake!

Yeah about the gamestop pre order bonus.. I'm not sure if it's just my area but the last 2 things from them I pre ordered did not come with the bonus. Gamestop employees just said they didn't receive the bonuses. I would have just downloaded it digitally had I known that would happen or went somewhere else.

I played Iggy's Wrecking Balls on emulator years ago. It's a very obscure, very whacky and surprisingly fun game, with a very funny name. I honestly do recommend everyone to at least give it a try if they have the NSO expansion. It's a very unique game

The original Watch Dogs having faked gameplay footage that didn’t reflect the actual game made me never want to play it or its sequel. Why would I trust Ubisoft to hold onto their promises?

If Nintendo is releasing all these obscure N64 games for NSO, then maybe there's hope for one of my favorite obscure gems to be released on there someday: Duck Dodgers Starring Daffy Duck. Very obscure but fun 3D platformer that I played all the time as a kid. I can emulate it, but it has all these emulation issues like cuscene dialogue overlapping. So if this could get a proper re-release, that would be great.
