You should check out some of the church ladies skits from SNL. Totally hilarious and in one of them, I am sure you will find those exact words “well, somebody’s proud of themselves”. I guess you had to be there, back in the 80s I believe…

      @jamesholbrook6734@jamesholbrook6734 Жыл бұрын
    • @@L33tSkE3t Sometimes, explanations of a joke or “being talked down to“ is a “just in case scenario“, as well as for the benefit of others who read the message. These messages are just for you alone. And if it was for you, how is anyone to know who you are, how old you are, what school or job or relationship status you have, and frankly we don’t care. It sounds to me like you’re trying to prove something else, not that you have seen skits by “the church lady”. No one was saying you weren’t intelligent, responsible, hard-working or any of that other nonsense, Just that it was a long time ago, even longer for some of us. He’s politely implying you forgive him if he’s ahead of your time, and if not you, then anyone else who reads this. There’s another level of understanding to consider here. Consider if we were talking about “captain kangaroo“, the chances are even greater that you would not know any of the pop-culture from those days. And what does anyone know about Betty Boop these days, except for the occasional picture we see of her. The point I am developing here is that many of us meet with generational differences as we grow older, and it can be embarrassing to a degree to admit we’re getting old, so on a subconscious level we try to laugh at ourselves before somebody picks on us, and you did not let him do that with pure Grace. I understand the difficulties of finding acceptance, wanting to prove myself. But you’re OK if you let yourself be OK. Or you can be less understanding, get stuck in your fear, and lash out. But be what you were born to be… A child of God… Love… Forgiving the illusion of separation so you can find the true oneness between us. And forgive yourself, because the past is gone. Now is the only moment that ever will be. So what’s next?

  • I did away with TV for a few years, so when I heard Jim Jordan talk, based on the voice and silliness of what was said, I thought it was Dana Carvey doing an impression. (his Biden has a bit of Jimmy Stewart in it)

    • I didn't watch. Cryin' Kimmel is a scumbag that I will not watch. Did Dana do stupid Biden, Angry unhinged incoherent Biden, or sleepy Joe? either way, all he had to do was play dead and he's got crooked Joe spot on.

  • Okay Ive been listening to The Weird Place on and off since 5a this morning. Im on episode Man Touches Globe p1. I am super surprised and loving! Its full scale…drama, suspense and the instrumentals/music throughout is high quality. The characters are funny and very distinct from each other. Dana is a one of a kind talent. I would really love to see these episodes turned into animations.
