Yeah, on second thoughts, I'm probably giving them too much credit for having thought about it for more than two seconds. Maybe it's a case of believing your own hype when you pass a certain popularity threshold, expecting anything you say to be taken as gospel and only interpreted in a positive light. If they're prosecuted hopefully Google will be obliged to nuke their channel and that will be the end of them. Having thousands of blind followers won't do them an iota of good then.

Anyone remember when THGM first made his major attempt at begging for patrons right at the start of COVID? He said people were living in his home in the UK while he was abroad and he couldn’t evict them, so he was crying about it. I believe he brought up things like a child on the way and he was transitioning to full time KZhead but without enough patrons he couldn’t do it or something. He was living abroad and this was coming off of his ‘handhelds around the world’ series so I was wondering at the time how on Earth he could need money so desperately when he clearly had plenty of it already. The guy’s used to being a heel though, he played one in small time wrestling so he knows how to make people hate him while getting money out of them. He’s always been espousing very right wing views too, I’m not sure why I’ve been watching them for so long, especially after the video stealing controversy

Unbelievable that he thought that would garner any sympathy given evidence to the contrary of their lavish lifestyles. I don't understand why he's kept up the Top Hat gimmick for so long, especially seeing as it's so badly executed. Repeatedly saying 'supposedly' and 'hyperbole' doesn't make him an aristocrat... not even a believable caricature. Often Richard even forgets to put on the voice mid-flow and can't be bothered with re-shoots. I've seen some footage of his wrestling 'career'. That's just as embarrassing. He is (was?) performing in village halls, watched by several dozen people. No wonder him and his wife need other revenue streams to break even. Exactly. After I've done a little bit of reviewing this, it appears the person that hit them with the copyright infringement even tried to reach out before filing a suit against her. Then they doubled down on this.....over only a couple of hundred dollars. Seriously, if you're an adult with kids and can't afford to pay 400-500 for this then it would probably be a better idea for them to manage their finances better or just go back to a "regular" job.

I gather it's more about the principle at stake than loss of earnings where Martin is concerned. He's an advocate of copyright protection so wanted to make an example of them. I doubt he would have bothered if it had been a genuine hobbyist using one of his pictures in a non-monetized video.

She also sometimes wear certain things to catch men eyes so she can get views and subscribers while Top Hat allows it and probably the one having her to do it. Basically they used someone else's copyrighted work, who then sent them an invoice for their use of his work. Rather than go "ope, sorry, didn't realize this wasn't part of the subscription we have to a stock footage company, here's your $500, apologies" and letting it all go by the by, they decided that that was entirely too much to pay a fellow creator and instead just ignored it, so he filed a DMCA, got the video copyright struck, as was his right, and filed a suit for payment. And again, rather than pay, they decided the correct thing to do was try to manipulate viewers into paying them to pay this guy...when they also had zero intentions of paying him. Over a $500 invoice for rights - while standing in front of a 6 figure video game collection.

Much of it is certainly petty and absurd, only in this case it escalated well beyond that into (allegedly) criminal acts which may eventually result in prosecution if it ever goes to court. Watch this space.

If you search KZhead for their names and 'Funky Spectrum' you can get up to speed on the situation. Just be prepared for some NSFW speaker-busting language! Otherwise, I posted a quick summary in the comments of my previous video in response to Luke's question.
Kloe and Richard Varty are not KZhead celebrities mate. They are You Tube personalities at best and complete frauds at worst. The latter being the most accurate description of them.
I don't understand what this is about. Did these people hurt your feelings or something? Is it because they have a patreon like many other channels? Guessing it's just youtube drama.
If you search KZhead for their names and Funky Spectrum you'll find an explanation of the scam in minute detail. Committing fraud and defamation of character goes a bit beyond KZhead drama.

Here's George Cropper's channel... kzhead.infovideos George is an acquired taste obviously, but the main thing is he's genuine, well-researched and thorough. If you're not convinced by his assessment, wait a while for the courts to deliver their official verdict.
@@chrisbeyond1879 the problem is these people maybe scammers. They just went to Paris and now they are saying they don't have the money to pay someone who's gameplay they used without his permission. The guy requested 500 pounds or else he will take them to court and they would be out much more than that. They refuse to pay the man for using his content without his permission and Top Hat using his wife to beg for money. She even put her kids on the video to use them as leverage. She also sometimes wear certain things to catch men eyes so she can get views and subscribers while Top Hat allows it and probably the one having her to do it. I use to love his channel until they pulled this little stunt
Basically they used someone else's copyrighted work, who then sent them an invoice for their use of his work. Rather than go "ope, sorry, didn't realize this wasn't part of the subscription we have to a stock footage company, here's your $500, apologies" and letting it all go by the by, they decided that that was entirely too much to pay a fellow creator and instead just ignored it, so he filed a DMCA, got the video copyright struck, as was his right, and filed a suit for payment. And again, rather than pay, they decided the correct thing to do was try to manipulate viewers into paying them to pay this guy...when they also had zero intentions of paying him. Over a $500 invoice for rights - while standing in front of a 6 figure video game collection.
