Can this use the original Mercedes OEM mic, and also does the 3.5mm aux input need to be run to the centre console of does is connect to the head unit directly?

They don't buy the knob in the center console does. Negative on that unit is the sound quality

G'day, nice! I have a 2015 E250 coupe. NTG5 I believe. I assume you would have a kit to suit? I also have a dead pixel band across the display so do you source replacements?
Very interesting video. I mounted an iPad Pro on my C180 AMG, and I'm always afraid leaving the car unattended, because even if the glasses are darkened, its shape still stands out.

iPad's are pretty useless items to steal as they are locked to your Apple ID and no way for whoever steals it to use it. So they would basically sell it cheap for parts

Nice work! But how can I switch between original and this additional interface? Some button combinations? And what is going on if a car has native rear camera, how does it switch to it then?
The rear camera overrides, for my eclass there a back button for the media you just hold it down
Yes back button to switch, camera comes on automatic even in CarPlay

I have got 2009 Audi A4 sedan it doesn’t say radio anywhere in the middle section but it says Audi CD player, can you suggest me any brand any model of apple car play which will suit for my car. It has cd player in the glovebox and ETC card reader.

I have a 2007 S-Class 4 Matic I seen on your website it says from 2008 on. I didn't think there was much difference from 07 to 08. If this will work I will buy right away. Just want to make sure it will work on the 2007. Thank you.

Nice. I could have gone that way to add apple carplay on my 2016 MB E400. But I opted instead for the 12.3 Android touch screen with built in apple carplay.

@@iambryn2012 check out DMP car design. It’s where I got my 12.3 Android Touch Screen for my E409 W212. Had it now for 2 yrs and it works beautifully.
Question.. can you still use 6 stack CD player while operating the module..? and can change discs through the new module OS itself?and also be able to adjusts EQ and stuff too

2016 E class is mostly NTG 5.1 and up, but you can check the manual, under Audio20 or run the vin no, to check what equipment it came with from the factory

Where did you mount the wire to connect to the phone? I prefer wired CarPlay but don’t know where to run the wire from device to phone. For reference, I have the Becker navi CarPlay box.

AUX - but the original AMP cleans up the Signal and it sounds amazing.

This would be worth it if it didn't cost more then the touchscreen upgrade that comes with carplay and Android auto. I believe that screen is like $500 or $600 dollars, larger screen and tablet-like functionality. This should be more around the $200 dollar price range imo 😕
I’ve had both. The road play module and the tablet screen. I have the screen still installed now had it for a few years and to be honest it sucks. The road play module that uses the factory screen is way better in my opinion. I screwed up when I installed the screen. Don’t get me wrong the screen is cool and functions but the module was way better and worked better.
ive used one of those aftermarket screens before and they are so bad. they fail after a few months and often are very slow or buggy to respond. while this is expensive, its likely expensive because its an option that allows you to retain the stock interface, which is harder than just replacing with a whole new screen.
Nothing beats keeping your MB as original as possible. A large screen in a 15 year old w204 isn't fooling anyone.
@@ahdnaji this might shock you but some people enjoy their MB themselves, they don't buy it to impress other people lmao! if someone enjoys their car more with a larger and better infotainment that doesn't mean they are trying to impress other people lol

It does. You can switch between the native system and the carplay system just by pressing and holding the return button for 1 or 2 seconds in the center console

What's the NTG version on a C218 (CLS from 2011)? Currently it doesn't have wireless music streaming connectivity, only phone bluetooth for calls. Will that module add music streaming to the car? Thanks.
This can be done through your hidden menu. Search up how to bring up hidden menu for your car make+year

What’s the microphone situation like. If you don’t use the one it comes with, does it work with the stock microphone? Talk quality is important to me
Still uses original mic for calls. New one is just for Siri / google commands

It is not, the easiest way is to change the radio. Have the same car but mine is a 2007 e220
