  • ----》tips 1. using a thumb tube fitting to reduce leaks, do not use hot glue 2. use a larger heatsink to cooldown faster 3. use a decent water pump to reduce leaks 4. use less thermal compound ----》downside using this 1. the water contact with hotglue, making it little toxic 2. it takes hours to cool the water down since the fan, heatsink are small. ----》tips to get cooling water faster 1. use bigger heatsink 2. use 2 heatsinks in series cooled by another heatsink & fan, making it 2x heatsinks, heatsink & fan, and peltier module

  • That is really cool. Excellent proof of concept. Things to improve for those wanting to make their own: Solder connections before heat shrinking the wires, or at least wire nut it. Simple twisting is no good. Cooling box would be more efficient if it were not as tall, and custom making a maze so the water has to run through the peltier module longer to absorb more cooling per pass. Insulate everything except the heatsink and fan. I would not drink water that has ran over an anodized aluminum heat sink, vinyl tubing, and hot glue for long. Use PE tubing with press-fit for leak free connections, and a copper cooling maze on the drinking side of the cooler. I know its not practical, as not everyone has a 3/8" NPT tap. I guess I should just shut-up and build my own. Nice. *Edit after reading other comments. It never occurred to me that this was intended as a CPU cooling solution. I was thinking consumption. I like it even more now.

  • great job dude.just a suggestion instead of using the heat sink, you can use the entire area of the cpu cooling fan and stick thin flat copper rods to it. it will give you more efficiency.

  • Just a tip, when inserting tinned wires into the lead on the switch, use what's called a "J hook". Use needle nose pliers to form small j in tinned wire then put that through the hole on the switch lead and then crimp with those pliers. Solder to finish connection. Finally wrap with heat shrink. Hope this helps!
