Hi Earl and welcome back 🙂
Nice clean shape Mike. Well done!

Very nice piece Mike. Was just thinking the other day that hadn't seen a video from you in a while. This was very good
Thanks Mark much appreciated.

Thanks Doug.
She's a beauty
Thank you Mr Dune much appreciated.
And the crack ! 😮
Filled with CA and coffee ground as mention in the video Jim, thanks for watching and commenting.
Very nice vase Mike. Cherry is one of my favorite woods. Especially finished natural as you did. I expected you to fill the cracks with epoxy or something similar but apparently you left them open. Would you share your thoughts about that? Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Thanks Glen much appreciated. I filled the cracks with CA and coffee ground, I did mention it but didn't actually video it. Thanks for watching mate.
Nice one Mike. Only problem with fruit....the infernal splitting....I have some cherry here nearly spiral split into 2 pieces. What did you do with the split.....nice copper "staples" or stitching?
Thanks Kev, I just filled with CA and coffee ground. Cheers. Mike
Nice piece Mike ,the split add caricature and I’m also interested in the light used to highlight your hollowing can you inform us on where this can be purchased regards Martin.
Thanks Martin .. WoodArt Products sell them here in the UK.
Excellent as always. How did you measure the moisture content?
Thanks John ... with a moisture meter.
Nice vase Mike. I haven’t turned much For a while But my next door neighbour gave me a nice similar bit of cherry last year so might try and do similar for a peice for him I see you decided not to fill the crack any reason for that ?
Thanks Andy I like to try a keep things as natural as I can where possible.
Hi, how did you measure the moisture content, and has the moisture content effected your choice of finishing to be an oil rather than a polish (maybe to keep it from drying lut further and cracking?). Thanks
Hi Andrew ... I just use a moisture meter ... the decision to use oil was purely because I thought a less glossy finish would be better suited for this piece. Cheers. Mike
Lovely piece! Must try that Citrus Burnishing oil….. What is the light you use when hollowing? Did you fill the crack or did I miss that bit?? Thanks for the videos 👍🏻
Thank you. I filled the cracks with CA and coffee ground and the light is a magnetic micro light from WoodArt Products here in the UK. Cheers Mike
@@MikeWaldt Cheers Mike, thanks for the info, will have a look at the micro light. 👍🏻 Thank you, Dave
Address the cracks??
@@MikeWaldt I recently started wood turning and I was able to use super glue and sawdust
That's what I use mostly, also CA and coffee grounds works well Frank.
