  • On the topic of CRTs, I want analog cable TV back. Sure, digital cable gets you HD and more channels, but you also have to deal with extra remotes, renting a cable box for each television, startup lag and load times between channels, clunky menus, and having to scroll through SD and HD versions of each channel along with the listings of all the channels you aren't subscribed to. The digital switch took the magic out of simply plugging your TV into the wall and channel surfing. Made the decision to switch to streaming services a lot easier.

It was mixed with pozzolanic ash which helped it be so durable, but the fact that they didn't have rebar supports in them, didn't have to build things to the scale we have now or support things like massive vehicles that we have now means it wouldn't be nearly as useful to us as out modern day concrete

  • Had a Galaxy S4 with the IR blaster and I actually used it for good. Dialysis center that I went to had chair side TVs with a hundred channels but only channel up down buttons to control no number pad but it did have an IR receiver. so I was able to figure out which IR code they used then I was able to punch in the number for the channel I wanted on my phone

  • The power glove is where the Wii was heading. If wii could do what it did with it's remote, the glove could work again.

    • Probably not lighter as I think the glass parts are necessary on both the tube and the screen. (also, the T is for tube)

  • i modded my psp, would take it to highschool and this was the old phat 1000 model... which had the IR on it.. i would mess with the tv's in the classrooms.. not to mention that there are/were watches that could do the same thing and would let you screw around even easier since people would assume you were just adjusting your watch ;)

  • My elementary school had the track ball mice, man I hated those things. We always had to take the balls out and clean the dust/hair that got stuck in them, mind you I was in elementary school in the 2010s. Let's just say my school didn't receive a lot of funding lol. Also, I love turbo buttons man. There was nothing quite like them when I was a little kid, playing Mortal Kombat with my brother and just holding the turbo button and thinking I was a MK god 😂

  • I mean technically the Nintendo Ring is the same as the power glove. Still would love to see a Switch version of the Power Glove that actually works properly and won’t eventually leak ink everywhere. Yes I had that problem with mine and then it completely stopped working all together. CRTs are not great, way to big and bulky and power hungry. Being able to replicate are CRT display on new tech accurately would be cool. WinMx was better than Limewire. And 99% of the time what ever you downloaded was what you actually wanted. I totally agree with the Roman concrete though. That’s an amazing thing, and Greek Fire too. I used to have a watch that had a tv remote built into it. Phone cases have attachment loops though.
