He is right. The fight didn’t make sense from any sort of championship or ranking perspective but it sure as shit made sense for fight fans just enjoying a fight and cementing Max as not only a BMF and a legend but a certified HOFer too.

I think it's fair enough to make Gaethje earn one more win after being gifted the Oliveira fight. If Gaethje got to fight Islam as his next match that would mean he's had 3 title shots in 6 fights.

Nah, the peoples main event was Pereira vs Hill the reigning 205lb champion vs the former 205lb champion. Not a former champion fighting a gatekeeper for a fake belt in one the lower weight classes lol. Definitely a good fight and co main event worthy or a good fight to kick off a ppv but definitely not main event worthy.
