Little Hope the second game in The Dark Pictures Anthology. abandoned and all alone, 4 college students and their teacher become stranded in an isolated town miles from anywhere after their bus crashes in bad weather. Trapped by a mysterious fog in the town of Little Hope, they search desperately for a means of escape whilst visions from the past haunt them from the shadows. The story follows college students Taylor (Caitlyn Sponheimer), Andrew (Will Poulter), Daniel (Kyle Bailey), Angela (Ellen David) and their professor John (Alex Ivanovici) who become stranded in the eponymous fictional town after their bus crashes. Located in New England, Little Hope has an infamous history of witch hunting that took place before their time.

Hey MK, I know that the game is now finished, but in the future; could you please not pause the game mid cutscenes to check you bearings..breaks the immersion. Thanks

Surreal ending. The bus driver who is actually Andrew or Anthony or whatever it is you name it must have gone through such a mental trauma that he started imagining or more precisely began hallucinating the figures of his deceased family members by assigning them different character roles in accordance to his twisted , sickening wild imaginations. He was so busy in his own world that he lost track of time( Had no idea whether it is day or night). This entire game was literally happening in his mind. The shock of losing his family members drove him crazy which obviously mentions why additional in-game characters ( The officers, Vince) preferred to stay away from him. The officer chuckled at the idea of him driving a bus which no one boarded. Andrew under the influence of his crazy thoughts was playing all along which entirely defined a good storyline of this game. Everyone considered him a psycho which gets all the more clear from the ending. Loved the storyline but kinda feel bad for Anthony. This game really got me hooked up. Again, sorry for the long comment and I appreciate if anyone dared to read this far.
I was kinda hoping it wasn't hallucinations and was real coz i saw in the other comments that there was another game made by the same studio and used the hallucination thing too. So im kinda disappointed they went this way.
@@miraclemaker403 that was man of medan, the previous and 1st game of the dark anthologies. I also suspected hallucinations and am too disappointed they reused that idea once again. Honestly, this game is exactly the same as man of medan expect u don't know its hallucinations until the end, its backstory is in depth but repetitive and the "monsters" aren't scary unlike in medan you know you're being hunted down by a real human killer. The monsters in this game is just like " so they gonna attack or na"
This company also created Until Dawn and used the mental hallucinations with Josh. I honestly think it ties in with the theme used in Until Dawn where mental illness is often ignored/laughed at (as in the officers and Vince in Little Hope). Honestly its sad that people who suffer from mental illness are treated as a joke.

@@elizabethcunningham2835 that’s exactly what I was thinking too. I feel like this is much different from man of Medan, in that, yeah, this can be seen as centered around “hallucinations”, but the main focus theme of this game is the idea of mental illness and trauma

He's there because he's the embodiment of the same Asian man that confronts Anthony at the start of the game and "judges" him because he thinks that Anthony set the house on fire deliberately. That's why the "judge" of the witch trials is represented as an Asian man. Not because of diversity.
Its because Anthony's psychological damage. His visions of the past are a result of him connecting people from reality (the asian neighbor) to that of the tourist culture of his town. Hence why all the background characters are mannequins since they reflect the museum figures of the pilgrims

This may be a "all in your head" type of game but there are still some supernatural mysteries. Who was the creature Megan was talking to, that tricked her into killing her family? Who is the curator fearful of, who's rules is he playing by? I think that the creature that was talking with Megan in the beginning is the same creature that is sitting in the corners and windows of the Curator's library. The creature being Death himself and the Curator being a reaper, or one of Death's agents.
I think the scene with the Clarkes is actually a modified version of what really happened in the 70's, told through the concussion that Anthony at that point is already suffering from. We go to the Clarke family *after* the bus crashes.
I thought that creature was the priest. She was failing in catholic school, and would only be treated poorly amongst her family by that. There was a drawing in the final scene at the house where megan drew the priest as a vicious creature.

The demon lies within ourselves. Demons of this story is his mind which trapped him pretty badly. Do you know why this game name is 'Little Hope' ? Actually there is no hope in saving other characters because they're long dead in reality but there is slight chance that main character could be saved from this unfortunate fate. If our main character able to save all the others in this dreamlike horror events. Finally he could get out of this maze inside his mind because he was feeling guilty of his dead family members. He wanted to save all of them or at least try to save them in reality which is not possible you know that.This was the best ending where he tried to save everyone and in the end able to get out of it. If you see the worst ending where you killed each character and in the end he also killed himself.where demon win and killed him.
Totally agree but; when I played the game I failed to save Daniel but saved the rest. And in the last scene, before the house collapsed, Andrew, Angela, and Taylor came out of the house. It was only John that stayed in the house and died. Also, Vince didn't call the police on me but rather bid a good farewell. In the end, Andrew returned back to the motel where he started from (the starting where he starts driving the bus from). So, I guess that if while playing the game you are able to make peace with yourself then and the aspects of your psyche (a representative of other characters) then that would be the best ending. I don't know for sure though. I maybe wrong
Oh joy, another "it was just all in his head" story. My most hated plot device and this anthology does it twice in a row. Can't wait for the 3rd installment when an astronaut battles an alien race on Titan but it turns out it was just some homeless guy on an acid trip.

Judging by my understanding the main theme of the game is facing your demons. Andrew/Anthony feels responsible for his families death so he seeks redemption and the way you do that is by making sure everyone survives, The way you do that I assume is by making everyone a polar opposite then the begging (Turn Unforgiving people into sympathetic and Cruel into kind) or you don’t Andrew still feels the weight of their deaths on his shoulders and will never be able to forgive himself.
The first hint from the curator was telling to forgive yourself and that doesn't make sense until i see the bus driver was actually having schizophrenia all along. But I'm curious what happened if he don't take the gun or don't shoot the demon
@@ridwanbahri6415 edit: just saw the alternative endings. If you don't piss the guy off he forgives you for the fire and tells you to go to the diner at the beginning of the game and call someone he'd probably take the gun anyway and the guy would just be mad you pointed it in his direction

I was enjoying the plot development of this game SO much. The three generations of people that look the same, the old generation hunting the new one, the witchcraft, events of the present affecting the past, Mary, the fact that you had to purge the sins of the characters in order to save them, and then, that ending... I feel like I´ve wasted five hours of my life, I haven't got this level of dissapointment since the ending of Game of Thrones. This all thing of supernatural stuff that are really nothing is ruining the Anthology, and it´s a pity. I thought this one could be at Until Dawn level.
I'm sorry that you feel this way, though I don't think that psychological horrors/thrillers are the stories that are supposed to give you a wholesome happy ending. They are supposed to be disturbing, thought-provoking and usually sad - since it mostly orbits around a tormented mind's world. Which can't be fun.
If the story leaves you feeling depressed, then it's a good story lol. Its called Little Hope for a reason.
From what I understand , it's likely that they , with a lot of others , didn't realize it was going to be psychological horror rather than "occult" / "supernatural" like Until Dawn was. I felt the same way about The Village. I didn't know any thing or I knew very little before I saw that movie so when the reveal came it made me so disappointed and a little angry. I do love psychological horror but really love well made or entertaining "monster" movies too.
If it wasn’t supernatural then explain the little girl who started the house fire.

The way the scenes are structured in this game makes them look jumbled, incoherent and extremely jarring. The plot looked like it was going somewhere and it did seem interesting at first, but it all goes out the window with the "everything was in your head all along" twist. Writers think they're so clever when they pull this kind of stuff, but they're not, that is a very lazy and uncreative way of wrapping up a story when you can't think of a good connective thread to bring the whole thing together. That, along with the fact that none of these characters are interesting or likeable in any way (especially Taylor who is especially annoying and whiny), makes me feel very disappointed in this one.
I agree that "oooo its all in your head" is so goddamn lazy, and Taylor was by far the worst goddamn character in this whole thing. I think I liked it more than Man of Medan? My opinion might change as I chew on it more. But this ending. Very very disappointing
@@mercybabineaux4507 At least Man Of Medan had those bizarre cutscenes with stuff like a character hugging the air because the devs couldn't be bothered to make alternative scenes taking into account the deceased characters, which was very jarring but super funny imo, but this game is somehow more annoying and a chore to get through. The one thing it has going for it is how the characters look like they're jumping forward in time rather than moving because of how awful the scene structure is, which is really funny.

I feel like they're going somewhere with these hallucination twists in the stories. I mean the one thing we humans have to fear the most is the human mind. Sure, it grants humans the awareness to solve problems, think abstractly, and even realize our place in the universe, but it can also be mysterious, fragile, and mischievous. Makes you see things that aren't there; makes you think thoughts that shouldn't be thought of. It's both a blessing and a curse. And that is truly terrifying.

The whole Little Hope story is like playing among us. Why? - John, Angela, Taylor, Daniel and Andrew is the ghost that got killed. - Priest is the impostor - Mary is the called one "sus" Basically, Abraham cheating on the trials by using discord to talk to ghost😤

He plays alot of games sure, but he would have already gotten a copy of the game, played through and recorded it way before the release for him to upload it when he's finally allowed to. Too bad it still felt like he did rush through the game but his playthrough is still a pretty good watch.
Seriously, this game-movie took me on a mental ride. I enjoyed watching all the twists and turns. However, the ending slayed my ideas when the young man switched to the bus driver. I'm picking my jaw up off the floor right now. Wow, Thanks for the up-download.
You should play until dawn. I love that game, I think you’d like it. It’s like watching an 8 hour horror movie that is also a video game. The Quarry is the sequel to Until Dawn. It comes out in 16 days. I think these are the best type of games tbh. Bc it’s like a movie you can play. Especially on stormy nights.

That was a great watch. Very good game. When the stranger(Vince) pulled the 3 darts out of the bullseye right after John made different shots I thought it was something the Devs didn't notice, but it turns out it was clever foreshadowing. Cool.

A lot of ppl commented the "in your head" but to me it's the trauma that the protagonist encountered that created multiple personalities in "his head". The objective of this game is to "cure" him that's why I find this a quite clever idea fighting your own inner demons. These days a lot of ppl have mental problems and normal ppl like us can never comprehend how their brain works. These type of games give us a glimpse and perhaps in future games can be use to help ppl with mental problem fighting their own demons. Actually the ASIAN judge is the GREATEST CLUE, becos it doesn't make sense to have AN ASIAN as judge in those times. Obviously, the judge manifested from that guy who ask him "What did you do".......

I don't get why people don't like the "it's all in their head" twist. I mean sure it's a little overused but I think the way they explored it in this game was unique. For myself it's far scarier seeing the possible effects of mental health, watching a person descend into insanity (a little like Josh in Until Dawn, sure they had the added bonus of the wendigo but cut that out of the game and I'd enjoy it all the same). With Man of Medan again it wasn't that monsters are scary (Depending on your view) it's that government conspiracies can be scary and that a drug-induced hallucination could be a very real thing. Having some sort of monster that doesn't actually exist in the real world isn't that scary to me, using a real-world concept and making it scary is far harder and far scarier to do. Besides you've got to give them credit they went to town on the models for the "dead". There seemed to be a lot more gameplay in this compared to a man of Medan. I think they did a great job developing this and I'm looking forward to seeing what other outcomes there are for it.
i actually felt that the game was mediocre right until the very end...which i loved...i like psychological horror more than gory monsters so i really enjoyed the twist...for me the ending made it miles better than man of medan...it reminded me of the movie identity...and seeing how the game started it's pretty clear that the crazy angle was what they were going for all along...in conclusion to sum it all up i loved the ''it's all in their head'' twist...i'm happy to see that i wasn't the only one...i mean scary monster and ghost stories are a dime a dozen...this feels a lot more special and unique :)
Personally I hated the ending because the whole point of the game is to make choices that determine the fates and relationships of the characters. So getting to the ending and finding out that all the characters were just in this guys head, feels like a huge slap in the face, because none of the choices you made mattered at all. It gives you the feeling that getting invested in these characters was a waste of time, because they weren’t real.
@@slapdat700 well they were real to him...like he got a second chance to save his family...they were pretty much memories of his loved ones if you think about it...but i do get your point of view...i actually got the bad ending so it felt right since i didn't manage to save anybody...i had really bad reflexes and i shot the old lady by mistake losing the gun in the process...i'm gonna replay it today with my girlfriend :)

There's a Japanese guy who made a game called 'Danganronpa V3' which caused a ruckus similar to what you complained about the game. I think, the problem with the likes of you, no offense intended, who are too indulged with fictional characters, seems to fail to understand that they are but some means to tell stories and/or just there as a way to metaphorize/refer to on certain matters, or even used as a reflection on real life people. Go watch or play the game I said above, but if you already had, then I hope you will understand, on another perspective, what is a 'fictional character' could mean. Either way, these were just my opinion. The truth of the message behind the (Danganronpa) game is only known to the devs, and God Himself. Do your best, and goodbye.

I think I picked this up from Game Theory or someone else but it is said that the Curator himself is a representation of death. The Curator (as death) can't give you hints because he's giving you (as a player) a chance to "outsmart" him throughout his storytelling. I can't prove this theory of course but it's a cool concept nonetheless. Smt like the movie Final Destination. Edit: Well he can give hints but why? Idk
The Curator is just the representation of death hence why he appears briefly moments before death or situation that could cause a death in Men of Medan. He is the reaper hence why he does not give us full clues but hints and lets the story roll according to our choices.

@@UniverseGd In an inverted view, we are the storywriters for a story book which roots to many ends (but this one seemed like it has very few endings in comparison), the Curator himself is a librarian of references, his hints are inspirations to our writing.
@The Professor The Grim Reaper himself has complete rule over death, but He never tampered on one's proceeding to demise if it was his/her predestined fate. The same can *ALMOST* be said for the Curator. Because death doesn't give second chances to anyone (as the Curator hints for your chances to cheat over the character's fate, or death).

It's raining outside and it's tapping on my window, I can hear the wind whistling by outside and... I'm alone. I'm terrified but it's so fitting.
This game feels kinda rushed the expressions and the mechanics of the characters in the cutscenes are clanky and there seems to be a lot of visual bugs. Other than that, shit it looks great.
Its way better than Man of Medan, tho....

So I just Finished House of Ashes Here in 2:16 there was an accident....it was the Car Crash That Rachel and Eric were in and where he lost his leg And if you got the Good Ending in Little Hope You will see the big reveal with the Bus Driver etc..in that Mini Diner He was the one that weirded out Rachel by saying that "This was the only time you'll be happy" (Something like that can't remember hehe) This Also confirms that the timeline of Little Lope was in the year 2000 *MIND BLOWN*

Woooow 😯👏🏻 by far, this is the best horror game I had ever seen. The overall storyline and the settings of the game is truly a masterpiece. They should make a second sequel to this with the same shrink treating a different character. Immensely magnificent game.

Welp spent my time watching this whole gameplay, and I would say it is a very very very good storyline and good background moral of the story and character settings for each person. It says that's all choices, good or bad may result in the same endings or even worse. Welp after 4 hours of binging, I now have to face the wrath of my assignment due tomorrow. :3
So I guess I’ll explain the story for all you guys who are confused. The beginning is canon. Anthony (played by Will Poulter) is the adopted son of the family along with Megan who is his adopted sister. Megan accidentally sets the house on fire and kills everybody in there (including herself) except Anthony. Anthony starts to suffer from severe survivor’s guilt and his friend Vince begins to hate him. Flash 30-40 years later, Anthony is working as a bus driver and has grown an interest for the history of Little Hope as well as witchcraft stories. While driving the bus, Anthony has a flashback of Megan and crashes the bus. In order to finally put to rest his guilt, he imagines he was driving a group of college students and their professor (Andrew, Taylor, John, Angela and Daniel) Into Little Hope and thrusts them into a tale of survival against their doubles who have transformed into demons thanks to witchcraft. However, Anthony envisions himself as Andrew and the rest of the group as his family (notice they have similar interactions to the family, Tanya had the worst death in the fire which symbolises Tabitha’s death). In the end, it all depends on how Andrew interacts with Vince. If he chooses not to antagonise Vince, Vince will forgive him for the family’s death and allow him to leave Little Hope. However, because MK was dumb and shot at Vince, Vince had Anthony arrested at the end. So all the events of the game (except the house fire and the bus crash) are all happening in Anthony’s head. BONUS: Notice how when Andrew saved Mary, he says to her “I didn’t save you”.
um about Megan i think that she actually knew what she was doing she set the house on fire on purpose... in the start she locked her mom (granny)-whatever in bathroom... she also put her doll on fire on purpose... she was maybe ill or really possesed.. see at the beggining (at the house) how there is some big black figure standing behind her? that could mean whole lot of things-mental illness, maybe depression, or she was maybe possesed by real life demon or something

It strongly reminds me a french series Marianne. Sometimes really wait for Marianne appears but then recall this is different movie :)
When i saw this game the first thing I Googled is "Is little hope actually paranormal" 😕 The cop stopping the bus didn't speak like a normal human and that house fire scene felt forced as hell. Like his whole family chose "Do nothing" Why didn't the sister just go in the window from the start? Or just lower herself and jump from the balcony? Why didn't the brother just jump down from the attic into the hallway and run down the stairs? Did the bathroom lock from the outside? Absolutely terrible.

The one he grabs has a strawdoll on it, symboling this game, but there also a ship(man of medan), and moon(until dawn) and a drawing protractor i believe. I THINK THERES A FOURTH GAME IN THE WORKS! I havent watched passed this yet, so i dont know if they say at the end or not. But if not, theres a big chance! I hope so!

For those who didn’t watched the trailer after credits and the last words of the curator before leaving, The curator said: we’ll meet again maybe in ARABIAN DESSERT (something like that) Then the credits role after that another trailer named, House of ashes the story took in some dessert The game will be launched in 2021 (One more thing, theres a vision in little hope that a girl falls and the rope cuts that’s the trailer for house of ashes if you miss that , try to click the ropes vision in game) Sorry for my englisg

So, in summary, each one of the characters has their own vengeful spirit that will come to kill them the same way it died, and the only way to stop it is to stop Mary. Am i correct ?
Only on the vengeful spirit part. Killing Mary in the final trial will cause all the characters (except for Andrew) to be killed by their respective demons. On the other hand, saving Mary will give you the best chance of saving them (but it might not be enough if you made shitty choices in terms of bearings and personality traits throughout the game, which is exactly what happened in this playthrough). Instead, if you choose to burn the puppet in the final trial, you get an intermediate chance of saving the others. Another part of the ending (Andrew being arrested or left free) depends on how you treat Vince, and especially on whether you shoot the demon behind him.

This reminds me of that one Star Trek episode where everything was just in his head.
So if Andrew lit the fires and killed his family... What does this have to do with the witches? What part did the factory closing down have to do with anything? What did carver and the fact his wife was sold in to slavery have to do with anything at all? What did the writer who died suddenly for no reason have to do with it? Who was Vince having an affair with? If they didn’t have their own children who were they?
I think the scenes of the witches was a way of Anthony/Andrew's mind to symbolize how Megan caused trouble for all of the family members, maybe unintentionally or because she was evil. With the "flashbacks" this was represented with her having her the family members executed. As to why his mind decided to represent it with witches, maybe it's because the city Little Hope was famous for having witches trails, and there were some books about that at Anthony/Andrew's house. I don't really know about the factory, maybe it was put there just so the player can find a picture of all the family members. I don't know about Carver and his wife either. I think there is a statue of that writer which looks like Taylor, but aside from that, I don't know anything else. Vince was Tanya's boyfriend. I think they adopted them.
