  • They are preening him like they preen their feathers. That is a sure sign of affection and familial bonding. The geese love the piglet and are caring for him like their own. It's hella sweet. That piglet literally has an army of protectors because geese don't mess around.

    • No more eating a Christmas goose. Geese are kind animals it now seems. Maybe I'll eat a Christmas ham from one of the bully pigs. But only from a bully pig, definitely not from the poor little victim pig or from any friendly pig. Kind and friendly animals must be saved and never eaten

  • There is an old Russian proverb "a goose is not a pig's friend", this is said about incompatibility of people from different classes of society. I always knew this is wrong, and this video illustrates it perfectly!

  • My friend had a very smart geese. He lived indoors with other pets. He used to greet people, annoy strangers, visit outdoor regular places, guard my friend from hazards and much more. He was a full family member! 👍💖

  • This is HILARIOUS for me as a russian-speaking person bc there's a saying in Russian, "a goose is not a pig's comrade/a goose can't be friends with a pig" (гусь свинье не товарищ). It means that some people are too different (usually in their social standing, character or habits) to be allies or to take each other's interests into consideration. And here, behold: geese being comrades to a pig :)

    • A weak member in a group put all of their members in danger. That's why the other pigs "bully" the weak one. Not because they are evil, it's because "survival". Meanwhile, for the geese the piglet isn't that weak or sick... it's very curious how they adopt him.

Animals that have to survive in similar niches will usually have similar traits and survival mechanisms, that's Evolution. Our brains have layers, like the more basic amygdala, through to the more complex outer layers. We have a "lizard brain" as it were, then a basic mammalian part, and so on. Other creatures have the more basic structures, and then, as they are more evolved to deal with their particular niche, more complex outer layers (that are nowhere near as complex as ours). Just look at a cat or dog while they are sleeping, often, they will show that they are dreaming, from their reactions to what is going on. Obviously they have a sens eof self. Just look at the large number of species that have shown empathy and altruistic behaviour. Feelings, in their most basic forms, can just be pleasure, misery, fear or anticipation of something tasty coming their way. You are seriously lacking in some department in your own brain if you believe that other animals don't have feelings. And notice that I say *other animals,* because, guess what? *Humans are animals, too!*
