  • HRV, Sleep, Resting HR etc is just as useful to me as tracking workouts. it's the best thing since I started wearing the watch every day.

  • Quick tip: create different activities instead of different data screens for various running activities - otherwise you have to scroll through too many screens. Furthermore you can have different alarms, auto laps, etc. For me a training run is a complete different activity than a 5k PB attempt, a Backyard Ultra or a 100k Ultra Trail run and therfore I need very different information...

  • As glad I am of my brand new Garmin forerunner 955 (have used Garmin forerunner watches for +10 years) its a puzzle - that its not possible to either "make the Recovery suggestion work. Or just turn it off. I get - ex. "48 or 72 hours Recovery til next training" often, - so it would be nice to be possible to adjust it so it matches the training plan & load I follow (use a coach & Trainingpeaks) - have ex. trained app. 12 hours/ week the last 3 months, up from "winter 8-10 h/week) down from last years season 12-14h/week) still more often than not it says ex. 48 or 72 hours Recovery" (have been training at least 8-10 hours/week the last 8-9 years...

    • Lol, yes I recently bought the Forerunner 265s (purely because the 965 doesn't have an "s" version), and as much I love the watch it constantly tells me I will need 48-72 hours to recover even though I'll be training again the next day.....and will have been doing the same back to back days for 3 months. Not sure how to change it.

  • Hi, what are your thoughts on your watch deciding your training status (eg steady, recover, over reaching, peaking etc?). Over the past 2 weeks my watch has decided that my training status is "peaking" 5 times (varying for 1 to 3 days at a time, with 3 "productive" periods of 1 or 2 days at a time and 1 day marked as recovery. Over the past week this has lead to two FTP increases - including an increase during a race yesterday (Bormio to Passo Stelvio) which also gave me all time 30 mins and 20 mins outputs. I would have assumed that when you hit peak fitness - then that would stay steady for a week or so and then drop off - not as is happening to me. cheers

  • I’m quite disappointed in this video because of the language used. At a point you reference “this isn’t the 80s where your watch is programmed by some guy in china” and “give your data to your coach he can tell you what to do with it”. I expected more from you guys. The language we use can also mean how inclusive we are to others. I’d like to recommend this channel to others and I watch a lot but the use of harmful stereotypes show up a bit. These things may seem small to you but are quite large for people who are apart of these communities. We want more diverse sport’s communities and stereotypes don’t help. I’d like to see you guys put a lot more effort into being better for diverse communities in sports.
