  • I just love how the little snake heads poke out of the eggs, all wide awake, flicking their tongues, and ready to explore the world. So cute!

    • Duse defininetly does love his job but he is pretty much smiling when he speaks about the no eyed snake not that faced at all so let's not get carried away here 😅 He has done this propably million times and it's routine and he knows there will propably be ones that won't make it, that's why the snake makes quite a lot of eggs to better the odds (in the wild most healthy would die too so someone has to survive).

    • Yes, and I agree with his method to a point. If some of the eggs have started pipping then I feel it is ok to carefully cut a hole big enough for the baby snake to get out on its own. I totally disagree with pulling the babies from their eggs and not giving them the chance to get out themselves. It might be slower as you may have to wait a couple of days for the other snakes to come out, and you may lose the odd one here and there but chances are they wouldn’t have survived in the wild. I think pulling them out just for the showmanship to get views is a poor reason not to let these babies enter the world as naturally as possible. This pulling baby snakes from eggs I think is just for the hype and not the best thing for the babies.

    • He has a mouth and 1 eye. He could eat and be healthy. The other one I can understand because it has no eyes and his mouth doesn’t kind of work. Hopefully the purple guy does make it. He said that he was going to try. I could tell that he wanted to try and make it work.

    • The color might be a part of the mutation since in a wild like a pink color isn't very good for you to blend anywhere except predators tongue. It might be kinda like you know, avoid of color color for them, but I'm just guessing

  • It's awesome watching you open the eggs to help the snakes. You can really tell how passionate you are! Even though I'm not a big fan of snakes, and I have no idea what you're talking about when you rattle off the characteristics, I still enjoy your excitement levels. The messed up snake just naturally dies then? That sucks man,

    @michaelmorrison4201@michaelmorrison42012 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, somebody that knows more can probably correct me, but with genetic mutations like that, usually the physical look isn't the only problem, meaning if that snake has that spring tail, a messed up head, it likely also means it has something else - heart problem, lung problem, etc, that means they end up not lasting very long.

      @johnz5359@johnz53592 жыл бұрын
  • The process of speciation can cause genes even with outbreeding to no longer be compatible with each other causing mutations and deformities. So both inbreeding and outbreeding can have negative effects.

  • That purple guy is SO beautiful. I'd LOVE to take him in even though he is deformed. I have taken in many types of animals that essentially stood no chance and have given them the fullest lives that nature will allow. If you ever except volunteers or apprentices, (which I'm sure you get a lot of requests) please hit me up Jay. I would love to spend even a day learning by watching you in person. I know Ball pythons aren't anything like retics but I had some for 17yrs and a Bermese Python I took in completely neglected that I was able to give another year and a half life to that it never would have otherwise. My Leopard gecko was torn apart by being housed with monitors. She had a full life after I saved her. No tail and blind but happy as I have ever seen an animal. My disabled rabbit was the same. After she had to be separated from her 4 siblings (I took in since the day they were born) she had me as a 24/7 caretaker and companion. She lived a full life of over 10yrs and was actually the 3rd one out of the 5 to pass. They all went within 15 months of one another. Hardest losses I've EVER experienced were all of my over (at one point or another) 100 animals of various types. From snakes to rabbits to mice to geckos. Now I take care of a dog! I'll literally take any animal in!
