The Meteor was introduced on 1 September 2020 and serves as Volkswagen's flagship truck model. Exterior changes are minimal, with the MAN lion grille being replaced with a new full width grille and Volkswagen logo. The interior is largely unchanged from the TGX.
In 1979, Volkswagenwerk AG acquired a 67% percent stake in Chrysler Motors do Brasil Ltda (:pt). In January 1980, it increased its shareholding to 100%, therefore giving it the right to rename the company to Volkswagen Caminhões Ltda.
The first Volkswagen Truck - the 1981 13.130
Volkswagen Caminhões Ltda. released their first trucks in February/March 1981; the Volkswagen 11.130 and the Volkswagen 13.130, both had a reworked version of Volkswagen's Mk1 LT cabin, and were powered by MWM Motores Diesel Ltda (MWM) diesel engines on Chrysler engineered platforms which were inherited from the takeover.

Volkswagen trucks and buses have been manufacturing here for 40 years with good market share, including the Constelattion line and market leader for some years. So they decided to bring the MAN brand to Brazil but it was not successful. So they made some changes and relaunched it as Meteor now under the Volkswagen brand.

I didn't know that VW AG also manufacture Trucks.I have seen Volvo,Scania,MAN, Mercedes Benz,Isuzu,Hino,TATA, Leyland, Nissan Diesel, Mitsubishi Trucks.have seen mostly VW Passat,Polo, Beetle cars.

Here in Nigeria, we are used to the VW Worker Trucks. Very rugged beast of burden but with a small truck head, small with zero resting place for truckers.
In the future, the VW big trucks will use Scania engines.
I know VW has ownership of MAN but I didn't' think they used their own brand for trucks as well.
I live in Brasilia, Brazil. This factory is not here, but as in the description said, it's in Resende, in the Estate of Rio de Janeiro (that's also the name of the capital city of that estate...messed up, I now...). Just saying it because it messes up my mind when I read the title. I have OCD and it kicks it. Good vid anyway.
